Many people believe that the various changes, opportunities, and challenges in life are influenced by the positions and movements of these planets. Sunday is dedicated to Surya Bhagavan, the Sun God. On this day, devotees traditionally take a morning bath and offer water to the Sun using a copper vessel filled with red flowers and kumkum.
It is believed that this practice increases self-confidence, leadership qualities, vitality, and social respect. Worship of the Sun is also associated with success in career, government-related matters, and overall physical and mental energy.
🌙 Monday – Strengthening the Moon through Worship of Lord Shiva
Monday is considered especially sacred to Lord Shiva and is also associated with the Moon planet. Devotees worship the Shiva Lingam with water, milk, and Bilva leaves while chanting the sacred mantra “Om Namah Shivaya.”
In astrology, the Moon symbolizes the mind and emotions. Therefore, worshipping Lord Shiva on Mondays is believed to bring emotional balance, mental peace, calmness, and relief from stress and anxiety.
🔥 Tuesday – Hanuman Worship for the Pacification of Mars
Tuesday is connected with the planet Mars (Kuja/Mangal). Worshipping Lord Hanuman on this day is considered highly beneficial. Reciting the Hanuman Chalisa and offering sindoor and oil to the deity are common devotional practices.
Such worship is believed to increase courage, determination, physical strength, and willpower. It is also said to reduce the negative effects associated with Mars and help devotees move forward in life with confidence and inner strength.
🌿 Wednesday – Blessings of Mercury through Lord Ganesha
Wednesday is dedicated to the planet Mercury (Budha). Worshipping Lord Ganesha on this day is considered very auspicious. Devotees offer sacred grass (Durva) and Modakas to Ganesha while seeking his blessings.
This worship is believed to enhance intelligence, memory, communication skills, and decision-making ability. Students, professionals, and businesspeople are especially encouraged to pray to Lord Ganesha on Wednesdays for success and wisdom.
🌼 Thursday – Worship of Lord Vishnu for Jupiter’s Grace
Thursday is associated with the planet Jupiter (Guru). Worshipping Lord Vishnu or Lord Dattatreya on this day is considered highly auspicious. Wearing yellow clothes and offering yellow flowers are traditional practices followed by devotees.
Astrologers consider Jupiter the planet of wisdom, spirituality, prosperity, and family harmony. Therefore, Thursday worship is believed to bring knowledge, wealth, happiness, and positive growth in family life.
💰 Friday – The Sacred Day for the Blessings of Goddess Lakshmi
Friday is dedicated to Goddess Mahalakshmi, the deity of wealth and prosperity. Devotees worship the Goddess with devotion, offer lotus flowers, and light ghee lamps before her idol or image.
Venus (Shukra) is associated with beauty, luxury, comfort, and material happiness. Worshipping Goddess Lakshmi on Fridays is believed to bring financial prosperity, harmony in relationships, happiness in the household, and overall abundance.
🪔 Saturday – Rituals to Reduce the Effects of Saturn
Saturday is dedicated to Lord Shani (Saturn). Lighting sesame oil lamps and offering oil to Lord Shani are considered sacred rituals on this day. Charity and helping the needy are also highly recommended.
Donating black sesame seeds, black gram, blankets, or useful items to the poor is believed to reduce the difficult effects of Saturn. According to astrology, acts of charity and compassion help calm karmic influences and bring stability, patience, and discipline into life.
