*తాత్పర్యము : ఇదే విధముగా పాంచభౌతికదేహము, ఇంద్రియములు, అంతఃకరణము అను వాటిని దర్శించే ఆత్మ వాటికంటే వేరైనది. ఇట్లే *జీవుడు* అని పిలువబడే ఆత్మకంటే బ్రహ్మ భిన్నముగా ఉన్నాడు. మరియు ప్రకృతికంటే ప్రకృతి నియామకుడైన పురుషోత్తముడు వేరైనవాడు, విలక్షణుడు.*

*41. bhūtendriyāntaḥ-karaṇāt pradhānāj jīva-saṁjñitāt*
*ātmā tathā pṛthag draṣṭā bhagavān brahma-saṁjñitaḥ*
*MEANING : The Supreme Personality of Godhead, who is known as Parambrahma, is the seer. He is different from the jīva soul, or individual living entity, who is combined with the senses, the five elements and consciousness.*
*PURPORT : A clear conception of the complete whole is given herewith. The living entity is different from the material elements, and the supreme living entity, the Personality of Godhead, who is the creator of the material elements, is also different from the individual living entity. Everything is simultaneously one with and different from everything else. The cosmic manifestation created by the Supreme Lord by His material energy is also simultaneously different and nondifferent from Him. The material energy is nondifferent from the Supreme Lord, but at the same time, because that energy is acting in a different way, it is different from Him. Similarly, the individual living entity is one with and different from the Supreme Lord. Living entities are compared to the sparks of a fire. As stated in the previous verse, fire, flame, smoke and firewood are combined together. Here the living entity, the material elements and the Supreme Personality of Godhead are combined together. The exact position of the living entities is just like that of the sparks of a fire; they are part and parcel. The material energy is compared to the smoke. The fire is also part and parcel of the Supreme Lord.*

*సనత్కుమారుడిట్లు పలికెను - మహాత్ముడగు శంకరుని ఈ ఆజ్ఞను శిరసా వహించి అతడు దేవతలకు కూడ నమస్కరించి వితలలోకమునకు వెళ్లెను (20). ఇంతలో ఆ ముండిత శిరస్కులగు సన్న్యాసులు అచటకు వచ్చి బ్రహ్మ, విష్ణువు మొదలగు దేవతలందరికీ ప్రణమిల్లి ఇట్లు పలికిరి (21). దేవతలారా! మేము ఎచ్చటకు పోవలెను? ఏ పనిని చేయవలెను? మీ ఆజ్ఞను నిర్వర్తించు మమ్ములను శీఘ్రముగా ఆజ్ఞాపించుడు (22). ఓ విష్ణూ! ఓ బ్రహ్మా! దేవతలారా! మేము చెడు పనిని చేసితిమి. విభక్తులగు రాక్షసుల శిభక్తిని చెడగొట్టితిమి (23). మాకు కోటికల్పముల వరకు నరకవాసము తప్పదు. శివభక్తి విరోధులమగు మమ్ములను ఉద్ధరించువాడు నిశ్చయముగా ఉండబోడు (24). కాని మీ కోర్కెననుసరించి ఈ చెడు పనిని మేము చేసితిమి. దయతో దానికి ప్రాయశ్చిత్తమును చెప్పుడు. మేము మిమ్ములను శరణు జొచ్చితిమి (25). ఆ సన్న్యాసులు ఇట్లు పలికి చేతులు జోడొంచి ఎదురుగా నిలబడి. వారి. ఆ మాటలను విని, విష్ణువు బ్రహ్మ మొదలగు దేవతలు ఇట్లు పలికిరి (26).*
*విష్ణువు మొదలగు దేవతలు ఇట్లు పలికిరి - ఓ సన్న్యాసులారా! మీరు ఎన్నటికీ భయపడకు. ఈ ఉత్తమమగు వృత్తాంతమంతయూ శివుని ఆజ్ఞచే ఘటిల్లినది (27). మీకు దుఃఖదాయకమగు దుర్గతి ఎన్నటికీ కలుగబొదు. ఏలయనగా, మీరు శివుని ఆజ్ఞచే దేవతలకు, ఋషులకు హితమును చేసియున్నారు (28). దేవతలకు, ఋషులకు హితమును చేయు శివునకు దేవర్షులకు హితము చేయువారియందు ప్రీతి మెండు. దేవతలకు, ఋషులకు హితమును చేయు మానవులకు ఎన్నటికీ దుర్గతి కలుగబోదు (29).*

21. In the meantime those heretics of tonsured heads came there, knelt before Viṣṇu, Brahmā and others and spoke.
22. O gods, where shall we go? What shall we do now? We are ready to carry out your behests. Please command us quickly.
23. O Viṣṇu, O Brahmā, O gods, wicked deeds have been performed by us. We have destroyed the devotion to Śiva of all the Asuras who were great devotees of Śiva.
24. We will have to stay in hell for a countless Kalpas. Certainly there is no redemption for us that have offended devotees of Śiva.
25. But it was in accordance with your desire that this wicked deed was perpetrated. Please tell us the mode of atoning for the same. We have sought refuge in you.
Sanatkumāra said:—
26. On hearing their words Viṣṇu, Brahmā and other gods spoke to the tonsured-heads who stood in front with joined palms.
Viṣṇu and others said:—
27. “O tonsured ones, you need not be afraid at all. These excellent activities have taken place at the bidding of Śiva.
28. Since you are the servants of Śiva and have carried out the activities conducive to the welfare of the gods and the sages, no mishap shall ever befall you bringing you to distress.
29. Śiva performs deeds conducive to the welfare of the gods and the sages. He is pleased with those who work for the welfare of the gods and sages. No mishap befalls those who work for the welfare of the gods and sages.
