*తాత్పర్యము : బ్రహ్మదేవుడు కడిగిన విష్ణుపాదములనుండి ప్రవహించిన పవిత్ర గంగాజలములను స్వయముగా శ్రీహరి పాదములను ఈశ్వరుడు తన శిరమున దాల్చి, మరింతమంగళ స్వరూపుడాయెను. ధ్యానించువారి మనస్సుల యందలి పాపములనెడి పర్వతములను ఛేదించుటలో అవి (ఆ పాదములు) వజ్రాయుధమువంటివి. అనగా ఆ పుణ్యపాదములను స్మరించిన వారియొక్క పాపరాశి వెంటనే రూపుమాసిపోవును. అట్టి సర్వేశ్వరుని చరణకమలములను చిరకాలము ధ్యానింపవలెను.*

*22. yac-chauca-niḥsṛta-sarit-pravarodakena tīrthena mūrdhny adhikṛtena śivaḥ śivo 'bhūt*
*dhyātur manaḥ-śamala-śaila-nisṛṣṭa-vajraṁ dhyāyec ciraṁ bhagavataś caraṇāravindam*
*MEANING : The blessed Lord Śiva becomes all the more blessed by bearing on his head the holy waters of the Ganges, which has its source in the water that washed the Lord's lotus feet. The Lord's feet act like thunderbolts hurled to shatter the mountain of sin stored in the mind of the meditating devotee. One should therefore meditate on the lotus feet of the Lord for a long time.*
*PURPORT : In this verse the position of Lord Śiva is specifically mentioned. The impersonalist suggests that the Absolute Truth has no form and that one can therefore equally imagine the form of Viṣṇu or Lord Śiva or the goddess Durgā or their son Gaṇeśa. But actually the Supreme Personality of Godhead is the supreme master of everyone. Lord Śiva is important because he is holding on his head the holy Ganges water, which has its origin in the foot-wash of Lord Viṣṇu. In the Hari-bhakti-vilāsa, by Sanātana Gosvāmī, it is said that anyone who puts the Supreme Lord and the demigods, including Lord Śiva and Lord Brahmā, on the same level, at once becomes a pāṣaṇḍī, or atheist. We should never consider that the Supreme Lord Viṣṇu and the demigods are on an equal footing.*
*Another significant point of this verse is that the mind of the conditioned soul, on account of its association with the material energy from time immemorial, contains heaps of dirt in the form of desires to lord it over material nature. This dirt is like a mountain, but a mountain can be shattered when hit by a thunderbolt. Meditating on the lotus feet of the Lord acts like a thunderbolt on the mountain of dirt in the mind of the yogī. If a yogī wants to shatter the mountain of dirt in his mind, he should concentrate on the lotus feet of the Lord.*

*అపుడు రుద్రుదేవుని కొరకు విశ్వకర్మ శ్రద్ధతో ప్రయత్న పూర్వకముగా సర్వలోకములను తనలో కలిగియున్న దివ్యరథతమును నిర్మించెను (5). సర్వభూతములు ఆ రతము నందు గలవు. ఆ బంగరు రథము అందరి ప్రశంసల నందుకొనెను. దాని కుడి చక్రము సూర్యుడు కాగా, చంద్రుడు ఎడమ చక్రమాయెను (6). కుడి చక్రమునకు పన్నెండు, ఎడమ చక్రమునకు పదహారు కమ్మీలు ఉండెను. ఓ బ్రాహ్మాణ శ్రేష్ఠా! ఆ కమ్మీల యందు ద్వాదశాదిత్యులు అధిష్టించి యుండిరి (7).*
*గొప్ప వ్రతము గలవాడా! చంద్రుని పదునారు కళలు ఎడమ చక్రము యొక్క కమ్మీలు అయినవి. నక్షత్రములు ఆ ఎడమ చక్రమునకు ఆభరణములైనవి (8). ఓ విప్రశ్రేష్ఠా! ఆరు ఋతువులు ఆ చక్రములను చుట్టి యుండు బద్దీలైనవి. అంతరిక్షము రథమునకు ముందు భాగము ఆయెను. మందర పర్వతము రథములో కూర్చుండు స్థానమాయెను (9). అస్తాచల, ఉదయాచలములు రథమునకు ముందు ఉండు స్తంభములాయెను. మహమేరువు మూలాధిష్ఠానము కాగా, మేరు శిఖరములు అధిష్టానములోని ఇతర భాగములాయెను (10).*

1. O Sanatkumāra, of good intellect, O omniscient one, O foremost among the devotees of Śiva, this wonderful story of lord Śiva has been narrated to us.
2. Now please mention the structure of the chariot[1] which consisted of all the gods and which had been made by the intelligent Viśvakarman.
Sūta said:—
3. On hearing these words of Vyāsa, Sanatkumāra the great sage remembered the lotus-like feet of Śiva and spoke thus.
Sanatkumāra said:—
4. O sage Vyāsa, of great intellect, listen to the description of the structure of the chariot etc which I shall give to the extent of my intellect after remembering the lotus-like feet of Śiva.
5. The divine chariot of lord Śiva consisting of all the worlds was built by Viśvakarman with devoted effort.
6. It was appreciated by all. It was golden in colour and all the elements had gone into its making. The right wheel was the sun and the left wheel was the moon.
7-8. The right wheel had twelve spokes. O great brahmin, the twelve Ādityas presided over them. The left wheel had sixteen spokes. O you of excellent rites, the sixteen spokes of the left side wheel consisted of the sixteen digits of the moon. All the asterism? embellished the left side.
9. The six seasons constituted the rims of the wheels of the chariot, O great Brahmin. The Puṣkara of the chariot was the sky. The inner side of the chariot was Mandara.
10. The rising and the setting mountains constituted the poleshafts. Mahāmeru was the support and the Keśara mountains the sharp sides.

*You can have an experience through a drug, but you don't grow. The experience comes to you; you don't go to the experience. It is as if you have seen the Himalayas in a vision-beautiful as far as it goes, but it does not go very far. You remain the same. By and by, if the vision becomes your reality, you are losing something, because you will become addicted to it. No, it is better to -go to the Himalayas. It is hard; it is a long journey. Drugs make it too short. They are almost violent; they force something premature. It is better to go the long way, because only through struggle do you grow. An integration arises in you, and you become crystallized. That's the real thing-- experience is irrelevant. The real thing is growth.*
*Always remember that my whole emphasis is on growth, not on experiences. The mind is always asking for more and new experiences; it is infatuated with experiences-and we have to -go beyond the mind. So the real spiritual dimension is not the dimension of experience. In fact, there is nothing to experience. Only you-not even you, just pure consciousness with no limit, with no object to it--just pure subjectivity, just being. Not that you experience beautiful things. You are beautiful, but you don't experience beautiful things. You are tremendously beautiful, but nothing happens. All around is tremendous emptiness.*

*తేజస్సు గలది శ్రీమాత అని అర్థము. ఎచ్చట తేజస్సు గోచరించిననూ అది శ్రీమాతయే అని తెలియ వలెను. సూర్యుని యందు వెలుగు, చంద్రుని యందు వెన్నెల, అగ్ని యందలి తేజస్సు, కన్నుల యందలి కాంతి ఇత్యాది వన్నియూ శ్రీమాత దర్శనమే. ఆమె సహజమగు వెలుగు. రాళ్ళయందు రత్నమునకు విలువ కాంతిని బట్టియే. అట్లే లోహములందు వెండి, బంగారము. వృక్షముల యందు దేవదారు, రావి. పుష్పముల యందు మల్లెలు, కమలములు. అట్లే జంతువుల యందు తెల్లని ఏనుగు, గుఱ్ఱము, పావురము, హంస, కుక్క, నాగుపాము. అదే విధముగ మానవుల యందు విద్యావంతులు, సాత్త్వికులు. ఇట్లు కాంతి దర్శనము లన్నియూ శ్రీమాత దర్శనములే అని భావింపవలెను. పంచభూతములలో ఆకాశము, రంగులలో తెలుపు, అక్షరము లలో 'అ', అంకెలలో పది ఇత్యాదివి పూర్ణ ప్రకాశములు. ఇట్లుతెల్లని స్వచ్ఛమైన కాంతిని గుర్తించుచూ శ్రీమాత భావమున నిలచుట ఆరాధనలో భాగము.*

*It means that Srimata is the radiant one. Wherever there is radiance, that is of Srimata. The light of the sun, the light of the moon, the brightness of fire, the light of the eyes, etc., are all Srimata's vision. She is the natural radiance. The value of the gem in the stones depends on it's light. Such are the metals silver and gold. Among the trees are cedar and raavi. Among the flowers are jasmine and lotus. Among such animals are white elephant, horse, pigeon, swan, dog and cobra. Among human beings are the educated and the sattviks(pious). All these visions of light should be considered as visions of Sri Mata. Sky in Panchabhutas, white in colors, 'A' in letters, ten in numbers etc. are full luminous. Recognizing the white pure light and standing with the thought of Sri Mata is part of worship.*
