*33. satyaṁ śaucaṁ dayā maunaṁ buddhiḥ śrīr hrīr yaśaḥ kṣamā*
*śamo damo bhagaś ceti yat-saṅgād yāti saṅkṣayam*
*MEANING : He becomes devoid of truthfulness, cleanliness, mercy, gravity, spiritual intelligence, shyness, austerity, fame, forgiveness, control of the mind, control of the senses, fortune and all such opportunities.*
*PURPORT : Those who are too addicted to sex life cannot understand the purpose of the Absolute Truth, nor can they be clean in their habits, not to mention showing mercy to others. They cannot remain grave, and they have no interest in the ultimate goal of life. The ultimate goal of life is Kṛṣṇa, or Viṣṇu, but those who are addicted to sex life cannot understand that their ultimate interest is Kṛṣṇa consciousness. Such people have no sense of decency, and even in public streets or public parks they embrace each other just like cats and dogs and pass it off in the name of love-making. Such unfortunate creatures can never become materially prosperous. Behavior like that of cats and dogs keeps them in the position of cats and dogs. They cannot improve any material condition, not to speak of becoming famous. Such foolish persons may even make a show of so-called yoga, but they are unable to control the senses and mind, which is the real purpose of yoga practice. Such people can have no opulence in their lives. In a word, they are very unfortunate.*

*భగవద్గీత మొదటి అధ్యాయంలో వర్ణించబడిన అర్జునుడి మనస్సులోని కల్లోలం, సరైన అవగాహన లేకపోవడం వల్లనేనని భగవాన్ శ్రీకృష్ణునిచే ఆపాదించబడింది. హృదయాన్ని ముంచెత్తే ప్రతి దుఃఖం, ఉన్నతమైన ఆలోచనల వెలుగులో, సరిపోని జ్ఞానం యొక్క పర్యవసానంగా పరిగణించ బడుతుంది. మనిషి బాధపడటానికి పుట్టలేదు; ఆనందం అతని జన్మహక్కు. మన ఆవశ్యక స్వభావం దుఃఖం కాదని, అందువల్ల దుఃఖాన్ని వ్యక్తపరచడం మన ఆవశ్యక స్వభావం యొక్క అభివ్యక్తి కాదనే విషయం మన మనస్సులలో మళ్లీ మళ్లీ గుచ్చుతుంది.
*దుఃఖం మన జన్మహక్కు కాదు; అది మన నిజమైన పదార్థానికి చెందినది కాదు. మనం నిజంగా తయారు చేయబడినది ఏ విధమైన దుఃఖం ద్వారా ప్రభావితం కాదు. ప్రతి వ్యక్తి యొక్క హృదయంలో ప్రతి రకమైన దుఃఖం ద్వారా అయ్యే కలుషితాన్ని ధిక్కరించే లోతైన భావాలు ఉన్నాయి. అందుకే, భగవాన్ శ్రీ కృష్ణుడు చెప్పిన గొప్ప విషయం ఏమిటంటే, అర్జునుడి దుఃఖం అతని వంటి వ్యక్తి నుండి ఆశించే జ్ఞానానికి తగనిది. మనకు లోపించిన ఈ జ్ఞానం ఏమిటి, ఎవరి లేకపోవడం మన దుఃఖాలకు మూలం? దుఃఖం యొక్క స్వభావం ఏదైనప్పటికీ, అది కేవలం దుఃఖమే - వ్యక్తికి కలిగే ఒక రకమైన వేదన.*

*The turmoil in the mind of Arjuna, described in the first chapter of the Bhagavadgita, is attributed by Bhagavan Sri Krishna to an absence of correct understanding. Every sorrow which sinks the heart is regarded, in the light of higher thinking, as a consequence of inadequate knowledge. Man is not born to suffer; it is joy that is his birthright. It is hammered into our minds again and again that our essential nature is not grief, and therefore to manifest grief cannot be the manifestation of our essential nature.*
*Sorrow is not our birthright; it does not belong to our true substance. What we are really made of is not capable of being affected by sorrow of any kind. There is a deep quintessence in the heart of every person which defies contamination by sorrow of every type. Hence, the great point made out by Bhagavan Sri Krishna is that the sorrow of Arjuna is unbecoming of the knowledge that would be expected of a person of his kind. What is this knowledge that we are lacking, whose absence is the source of our sorrows? Whatever be the nature of sorrow, it is just sorrow—a kind of agony that the individual feels.*

He never closes his eyes during meditation and nobody around him knows that he is perpetually connected with Divine. He can reply to any questions instantaneously, but he says he has to learn more. This is the type of yogi that Śiva Sūta-s talk about.*
