శ్రీ శివాష్టోత్తర శతనామ స్తోత్రం పరమ శివుని 108 దివ్య నామాల సమాహారం. ఈ స్తోత్రం కేవలం పేర్ల కలయిక మాత్రమే కాదు, ఇది శివతత్వాన్ని, సృష్టి స్థితి లయ కారకుడైన మహాదేవుని అనంత శక్తిని అర్థం చేసుకునే ఒక ఆధ్యాత్మిక మార్గం. "శివ" అంటే మంగళప్రదమైనవాడు అని అర్థం. ఈ అష్టోత్తరాన్ని పఠించడం వల్ల మనసులోని అశాంతి తొలగి, పరిపూర్ణమైన శాంతి లభిస్తుందని భక్తుల నమ్మకం. ప్రతి నామం వెనుక ఒక విశిష్టమైన అర్థం, పురాణ నేపథ్యం దాగి ఉంటుంది. ఉదాహరణకు, 'శంభు' అంటే సుఖాన్ని ఇచ్చేవాడని, 'పశుపతి' అంటే జీవులన్నింటికీ ప్రభువు అని అర్థం. ఈ నామ స్మరణ ద్వారా సాధకుడు తనలోని అజ్ఞానాన్ని పోగొట్టుకుని, జ్ఞాన మార్గంలో పయనిస్తాడు.

The Shiva Ashtottara Shatanamavali Stotram is a sacred compilation of the 108 divine names of Lord Shiva. Each of the 108 names carries a unique significance and a deep mythological background; for instance, 'Shambhu' denotes the one who grants happiness, while 'Pashupati' refers to the Lord of all living beings. This practice is not merely for the fulfillment of worldly desires but is a simple and effective path toward Moksha (liberation).
