*MEANING : The yogīs should contemplate with full devotion the compassionate glances frequently cast by the Lord's eyes, for they soothe the most fearful threefold agonies of His devotees. His glances, accompanied by loving smiles, are full of abundant grace.*
*PURPORT : As long as one is in conditional life, in the material body, it is natural that he will suffer from anxieties and agonies. One cannot avoid the influence of material energy, even when one is on the transcendental plane. 22. Śiva is capable of reducing the three cities to ashes in a trice, Still lord Śiva, the goal of the good bides his time.
23. The lord of gods is capable of burning the three worlds by a single glance. O lord, for the flourish of our fame you shall discharge the arrow.
24. On being eulogised by Viṣṇu, Brahmā and other gods, lord Śiva desired to reduce the three cities to ashes with his arrow.
25-26. In the auspicious moment called Abhilāṣa he drew the bow and made a wonderful and unbearable twanging sound. He addressed the great Asuras and proclaimed his own name. Śiva discharged an arrow that had the refulgence of countless suns.
27. The arrow which was constituted by Viṣṇu and whose steel head was fire god blazed forth and burnt the three Asuras who lived in the three cities. It thereby removed their sins.
28. The three cities reduced to ashes fell on the earth girt by the four oceans[3].

*If you feel that concentration is missing, nothing can be done directly about concentration; something will have to be done about interest. For example, a child sitting in the school suddenly starts listening to birds chirping outside the window and completely concentrates on listening to that. The teacher shouts, "Concentrate!" and the child cannot concentrate on the blackboard, his mind returns again and again to the birds. They are so joyful and he is really interested in them, so his concentration is there. The teacher says, "Concentrate!" He is concentrating-in fact the teacher is distracting him from his concentration.*
*But the teacher wants his concentration for something for which he has no interest; that's why he finds it difficult to concentrate. So always remember: If you feel that you go on forgetting things, that simply means that somewhere interest is missing, or you have some other interest. Maybe you want to earn money out of it, your interest is in the money but not in the work then you will start for getting things. So just watch your interest. And whatever you are doing, if you are doing it with deep interest, there is no need to worry about remembrance-it simply comes. So just start taking more interest. Remain in the moment, take more interest in whatever you are doing. And after two or three months you will see that the memory simply follows.*
