🌷. తాత్పర్యం :
*అర్జునుడు ఈ విధంగా అన్నాడు. కృష్ణా! కర్మముకంటే జ్ఞానమే మేలని నీ అభిప్రాయముగ అనిపించుచున్నది. ఇదియే నీ అభిప్రాయం అయినచో, నన్ను, హింసారూపమై క్రూరమైనట్టి యుద్ధాఖ్యకర్మమునే చేయుము అని నీవు నియోగించుటకు కారణముయేమి? చెప్పుము అని భావము.*
🌷. భాష్యము :
పూర్ణపురుషోత్తముడగు శ్రీకృష్ణభగవానుడు తన సన్నిహిత స్నేహితుడైన అర్జునుని దుఃఖసాగరము నుండి ఉద్ధరింపజేయు ఉద్దేశ్యముతో ఆత్మ యొక్క నిజస్థితిని గడచిన అధ్యాయమునందు విపులముగా వివరించెను. అంతియేగాక ఆత్మానుభవమార్గమైన బుద్ధియోగమును( కృష్ణభక్తిరసభావనము) సైతము ప్రతిపాదించును.
కొన్నిమార్లు కృష్ణభక్తిభావము జడత్వమని తప్పుగా భావింపబడును. అ విధముగా అపార్థము చేసికొనినవాడు పవిత్ర కృష్ణనామమును జపించును పూర్ణ కృష్ణభక్తియుతుడగుటకు ఏకాంతస్థలమునకు చనుచుండును. కాని కృష్ణభక్తి తత్త్వమున సంపూర్ణముగా శిక్షణను పొందనిదే ఏకాంతస్థలములో కృష్ణనామజపమును చేయుట హితకరము కాదు. అట్టి కార్యము వలన కేవలము అమాయకజనులచే భక్తిప్రశంశలు మాత్రమే మనుజునకు లభింపగలవు. అర్జునుడు సైతము కృష్ణభక్తిభావన (బుద్ధియోగము లేదా ఆధ్యాత్మికజ్ఞానమునందు బుద్ధి) యనగా క్రియాశీలక జీవనము నుండి విరణమును పొంది ఏకాంతస్థలములో తపోధ్యానము చేయుట యని భావించెను.
అనగా కృష్ణభక్తి నెపమున అతడు యుద్ధము నుండి తెలివితో విరమింపగోరెను. కాని అతడు ఉత్తమవిద్యార్థి వలె తన గురువు ఎదుట ఈ విషయముంచి ఉత్తమమార్గామేదియో తనకు తెలుపుమని ప్రశ్నించెను. అర్జునిని ఈ ప్రశ్నకు సమాధానముగా శ్రీకృష్ణభగవానుడు కర్మయోగమును (కృష్ణభక్తిభావన యందు కర్మనొనరించు విధానము) ఈ తృతీయాధ్యాయమున విపులముగా వివరించాను.

1. arjuna uvāca
jyāyasī cet karmaṇas te matā buddhir janārdana
tat kiṁ karmaṇi ghore māṁ niyojayasi keśava
🌷Translation :
*Arjuna said: O Janārdana, O Keśava, why do You want to engage me in this ghastly warfare, if You think that intelligence is better than fruitive work?*
🌷 Purport :
The Supreme Personality of Godhead Śrī Kṛṣṇa has very elaborately described the constitution of the soul in the previous chapter, with a view to delivering His intimate friend Arjuna from the ocean of material grief. And the path of realization has been recommended: buddhi-yoga, or Kṛṣṇa consciousness.
Sometimes Kṛṣṇa consciousness is misunderstood to be inertia, and one with such a misunderstanding often withdraws to a secluded place to become fully Kṛṣṇa conscious by chanting the holy name of Lord Kṛṣṇa. But without being trained in the philosophy of Kṛṣṇa consciousness, it is not advisable to chant the holy name of Kṛṣṇa in a secluded place, where one may acquire only cheap adoration from the innocent public.
Arjuna also thought of Kṛṣṇa consciousness or buddhi-yoga, or intelligence in spiritual advancement of knowledge, as something like retirement from active life and the practice of penance and austerity at a secluded place. In other words, he wanted to skillfully avoid the fighting by using Kṛṣṇa consciousness as an excuse. But as a sincere student, he placed the matter before his master and questioned Kṛṣṇa as to his best course of action. In answer, Lord Kṛṣṇa elaborately explained karma-yoga, or work in Kṛṣṇa consciousness, in this Third Chapter.

Devāmanuṣyaḥ pitaro’surā ambhāṃsi tāni hi,

Devas (gods), manushya (people), pitrs (fore-fathers) and asuras (demons) are called Ambhas. Since such ambhas reside in Him, He is called Ambhonidhiḥ.

*The jiva principle within us has the double characteristic of mortality and immortality. We are mortals and immortals at the same time. It is the mortal element in us that causes sorrow when it comes in contact with the immortal urge that seeks its own expression in its own manner.*
*There is a tremendous friction, as it were, taking place between the subjective feelings and the objective cosmos. No one can know the strength of the universe. The mind cannot imagine it, and we are trying to overstep it. We can stretch our imagination and try to bring to our memories what could be the magnitude of this task. We as individuals, as we appear to be, are girding up our loins to face the powers of the whole universe—a single Arujna facing the entire Kaurava forces, as it were.*
*Yes, Arjuna had the strength, and also he had no strength. If Arjuna stood alone, he could be blown off in one day by a man like Bhishma. Well, Duryodhana pleaded every day before Bhishma and cried aloud, “Grandsire, you are alive, and even when you are alive, thousands and thousands of our kith and kin are being massacred. How can you see it with your eyes?”*

*అనగా రాబోవు అపాయమును సూచించును. సత్పురుషులు, సద్ధంథములు, సత్కార్యములు దూషింప బడు తావున క్షణమాత్రము ఉండరాదు. ఇది మా శాసనము. ఇతరములగు వ్యామోహములకు లోబడి అట్టి ప్రదేశముల యందు గాని, వ్యక్తులతోగాని మసలినచో మీకుగల క్రమశిక్షణము దెబ్బ తినుటయే గాక ధర్మసూత్రముల యందు అనుమానముకూడ ఏర్పడ గలదు. నియమిత కార్యములను ఏకోన్ముఖముగ నిర్వర్తించుచు, నిర్వర్తింపబడు కార్యములను ప్రేమించుచు జీవించుట శ్రేయోదాకము.*

*🌻 323-2. Kadamba-kusuma-priyā कदम्ब-कुसुम-प्रिया (323)🌻*
*She is fond of kadamba flowers, amidst the tress of which She lives (nāma 60). The same nāma appears in Lalitā Triśatī as nāma 11. Lalitā Triśatī consists of 300 nāma-s. This 300 is arrived at by multiplying fifteen bīja-s of Pañcadaśī by twenty. The first bīja in Pañcadaśī is ‘ka’ (क). The first twenty nāma-s begin with this bīja and the next twenty nāma-s begin with next alphabet of Pañcadaśī ‘e’ (ए). Triśatī is considered very powerful as it originates from the Pañcadaśī mantra.*
*There are said to be five types of sacred trees and kadamba tree is one among them. These five sacred trees said to represent the four components of antaḥkaraṇa viz. mind, intellect, consciousness and ego and the fifth being the heart where the soul is said to reside (Some modern interpretations point out that the soul resides within the pineal gland, the gland of divinity). The smell of these flowers is compared to the modifications of the mind.*
