'నాథా! ఏల పిలిచితిరి? పని చెప్పి అను గ్రహించుడు' అని పలికి ఆయన ఆదేశించిన పనిని ప్రసన్నమగు మనస్సుతో చేయవలెను (21). ద్వారము వద్ద చిరకాలము నిలబడరాదు. ఇతరుల గృహమునకు పోరాదు. భర్త హృదయములోని భావము నెరింగి ప్రవర్తించవలెను. దేనిని పడితే దానిని ఎక్కడ పడితే అక్కడ ఎవరికి పడితే వారికి ఈయరాదు (22). పూజాసామగ్రిని భర్త చెప్పకుండగనే స్వయముగా సర్వమును సంపాదించవలెను. హితమును చేయు అవకాశము కొరకు ఎదురు చూస్తూ సందర్భమునకు తగినట్లుగా హితమును ఆచరించవలెను (23). భర్త అనుమతి లేనిదే తీర్థయాత్రకు ఎచ్చటికైననూ వెళ్లరాదు. పతివ్రత సమాజోత్సవములకు దూరముగా నుండవలెను (24)
తీర్థములను సేవించ గోరు స్త్రీభర్తపాదోదకము త్రాగవలెను. సర్వక్షేత్రములు, తీర్థములు దానియందే గలవనుటలో సందేహము లేదు (25). భర్త భుజించిన తరువాత మిగిలిన మృష్టాన్నమును, ఇతర భోజ్యములను భర్త ఇచ్చిన మహా ప్రసాదము అను భావనతో స్వీకరించి భుజించవలెను (26).
పతివ్రత దేవతలకు, పితృదేవతలకు, అతిథులకు, పరిచారకులకు, గోవులకు మరియు భిక్షుకులకు, పెట్టకుండగా తాను తినరాదు (27). పతివ్రతా ధర్మమునందు నిష్ఠగల దేవి గృహవస్తవులను పొందికగా భద్రముగా నుంచుకొనవలెను. ఆమె సామర్థ్యముతో ఇంటిని పొదుపుగా నిర్వహించవలెను. ఆమె సర్వదా ఆనందముగా నుండి దుర్వ్యయమును విసర్జించవలెను (28).
భర్త అనుజ్ఞ లేనిచో ఉపవాసములు, వ్రతములు మొదలగు వాటిని చేయరాదు. అట్లు చేసినచో ఆ ఫలము లభించక పోవుటయే గాక, మరు జన్మలో నరకము లభించును (29). సుఖముగా భర్త కూర్చుని యుండగా, లేక స్వేచ్ఛచే క్రీడించుచుండగా ఆటంకమును కలిగించరాదు. భర్త నిద్రించుచున్న సమయములో ఆవశ్యకమగు కార్యము ఉన్ననూ నిద్ర లేపరాదు (30).
భర్త అసమర్థుడైననూ, దురవస్థలో నున్ననూ, వ్యాధిగ్రస్తుడైననూ, వృద్ధుడే అయిననూ, సుఖము గలవాడైననూ, లేక దుఃఖియైననూ, పతివ్రత భర్తను ఉల్లంఘించరాదు (31). రజస్వలా సమయములో భర్తకు దూరముగా నుండవలెను. స్నానము అగువరకు కబుర్లాడరాదు (32).

21. “O lord, be pleased to say what I have been called for.” Whenever ordered by him to do any job she shall do it gladly.
22. She shall not stand near the entrance for a long time. She shall not go to other people’s house. She shall not take his money, even though it be a little, and give it to others.
23. Without being told she shall arrange the necessary requisities for his daily worship. She shall wait for the opportunity to do him a timely service.
24. Without the permission of her husband she shall not go even on pilgrimage. She shall eschew the desire to attend social festivities.
25. If a women wants holy water she shall drink the same with which her husband’s feet have been washed. All holy rivers are present in that water.
26. She shall partake of the leavings of her husband’s food or whatever is given by him saying “This is thy great grace.”
27. She shall never take food without first offering due share to the gods, the Pitṛs, the guests, the servants, cows and saintly mendicants.
28. A gentle lady of chaste rites shall always be clever to manage the household with limited requisites. She shall be averse to spend unnecessarily.
29. Without being permitted by her husband she shall not observe fast and other rites. Should it be so, she will derive no benefit. She may fall into hell in other worlds.
30. While the husband is sportively engaged or seated comfortably she shall not worry him to get up under the pretext of attending to some household work.
31. Whether he is impotent, distressed, sick or senile, happy or unhappy, the husband shall never be transgressed.
32. During the three days of her monthly course she shall neither show her face nor speak to him. She shall not speak within his hearing till she becomes pure after her bath.

యజ్ఞము చేయుచున్నప్పుడు కుశలు, వాటి అగ్రములు తూర్పు వైపున కుండు నట్లు భూమిపై పరవబడెను. అందుచే పూజ్యు డైన ఆ ప్రజాపతికి ''ప్రాచీన బర్హిస్సు'' అను పేరు వచ్చెను.
సముద్రుని కుమార్తె యైన సవర్ణ ప్రాచీనబర్హిస్సువలన పదిమంది కుమారులను కనెను వారందరికిని ప్రచేతను లనియే పేరు. వారందరును ధనుర్వేదమునందు పరిపూర్ణప్రజ్ఞ కలవారు.
ఒకే విధముగా ధర్మము నాచరించుచున్న వారందరును సముద్ర జలమున నివసించి పది వేల సంవత్సరములు గొప్ప తపస్సు చేసిరి.
వారు విష్ణువునుండి ప్రజాపతిత్వమును పొంది, సంతసించినవారై సముద్రజలమునుండి లేచిరి అపుడు భూమ్యాకాశములు వృక్షములచే వ్యాప్తములై యుండెను వారు తమ ముఖమునుండి పుట్టిన అగ్ని వాయువులచే ఆ వృక్షములను దహింపచేయ మొదలిడిరి. అపుడు రాజైన సోముడు ప్రజాపతుల దగ్గరికి వెళ్లి-- ''కోపమును ఉపసంహరింపుడు భవిష్యత్తును గూర్చి తెలిసిన నేను తపశ్శాలి యగ కండుముని కుమార్తె యైన ప్రవ్లూెచయందు ఉత్తమురాలగు మారిషయను కన్యను జనింపచేసితిని ఆమెను మీకు ఇచ్చెదరు. ఆమె మీ వంశమును వృద్ది పొందించు బార్య యగుగాక. ఆమెయందు పట్టిన దక్షుడు ప్రజలను వృద్దిపొందించును.
ప్రచేతసులు ఆమెను స్వీకరించిరి. ఆమెకు దక్షుడును కుమారుడు జనించెను. ఆతడు మనస్సుచే స్థావరజంగమములకు, ద్విపాత్తులను (మనుష్యులు మొదలగువారిన) చతుష్పాత్తులను (నాలుగు కాళ్ళుగల పశ్వాదులను.) సృజించి పిమ్మట స్త్రీలను సృజించెను. వారిలో పదిమందిని యమధర్మరాజునకును, పదముగ్గురిని కశ్యపునకును, సోమునకు ఇరువది యేడుగురిని, అరిష్టనేమికి నలుగురిని, బహుపుత్రునకు ఇద్దరిని, ఆంగిరసునకు ఇద్దరిని ఇచ్చెను. పూర్వము వారియందు మానస మైథునముచే దేవతలును నాగాదులను జనించిరి.

*🌻 Genealogy of Svāyambhuva Manu - 3 🌻*
21. (He was known as Prācīnabarhis) because the kuśa grass were facing the east as he was praying on the earth.[13] The lord Prācīnabarhis was a great progenitor.
22. Savarṇā, the daughter of Samudra (the lord of the ocean) bore ten Prācīnabarhis. All of them were known as Pracetas and were proficient in archery.
23. Practising the same religious austerities, they all did severe penance, remaining in the waters of the ocean for ten thousand years.
24. Having got the status of a progenitor and pleased Viṣṇu, they came out (of waters) (and found) that the earth and the sky were overspread with trees. They burnt them down.
25. Beholding the destruction of trees _by the fire and wind produced from their mouths, Soma, the king (of plants) approached these progenitors and said:
26-27. “Renounce (your) anger, I will get you this most excellent maiden Māriṣā, (born to) (the nymph) Pramlocā and the ascetic sage Kaṇḍu (who was nourished) by me. Having known the future (I have) created (her). Let (she) be your wife, capable of multiplying the family. Dakṣa will be born to her who will multiply progeny.”
28-30. The Pracetas married her and Dakṣa was born through her. That Dakṣa, having mentally created the immovables, movables, hi-footed beings and the quadrupeds, then created the (sixty) daughters (of whom) he gave[14] ten to Dharma, thirteen to Kaśyapa, twenty-seven to Soma, four to Ariṣṭanemin, two to Bahuputra, two to Aṅgiras.

And one can write a story without any center-much ado about nothing, a tale told by an idiot, full of fury and noise, signifying nothing. The significance comes from the person, the poet; it is not in the poetry.*
*If the poet has something overflowing, then the poetry becomes luminous, then it has a glow, it has a subtle unity. It throbs with life, it has a heart, it beats ... you can hear the beat of the heart. Then it lives and grows and it goes on growing. *భక్తుల చిత్తమందు హంసవలె నుండునది శ్రీదేవి అని అర్ధము. భక్తు లనగా నిర్మల చిత్తము కలవారు. నిర్మల చిత్త మనగా ఎట్టి మలములు లేనిది. దీనిని మానస సరోవరమని కూడ అందురు. అచట ప్రశాంతత ప్రధానముగ నుండును. చల్లదనము, నిశ్శబ్దము సతత ముండును. ఇట్టి చిత్తము లందు హంసవలె శ్రీదేవి వసించి యుండును. హృదయ మందలి స్పందనాత్మక చైతన్యముగ తేలియాడు చుండును. 'సో హం' అను శబ్దము నిరంతరము నిర్మల చిత్తమున దర్శించవచ్చును. ఇట్లు దర్శించువారు హంసదర్శను లగుదురు. క్రమముగ హంస లగుదురు.*
*ఇట్టి హంసలైన భక్తులు ప్రపంచ ప్రభావమునకు లొంగరు. వారు చరమగు ప్రపంచము నుండి విడివడి ఆ ప్రపంచమున తేలియాడు చుందురు. వారు ముముక్షువులు. చిత్తమున హంసలై నిలచిన వారి ప్రజ్ఞలు సూక్ష్మస్పందనమును గూర్చిన ధ్యానములో నిమగ్నమై యుండును. వీరు సహజముగ అంతర్ముఖులు. కర్తవ్యములను బట్టి బహిర్ముఖు లగుచుందురు. కర్తవ్యము లేనిచో వారి ఇంద్రియములు గాని, కర్మేంద్రియములుగాని కదలవు. ఊరకే తిరుగుట, కదలుట, మాటాడుట యుండవు.*

*There is a small story about associated with this nāma. Brahma, the God of creation created a lake called Mānasarovar at the top of mount Kailāsa. The water in this lake is known for its highest purity. The lake exists even today. Swans always prefer purity and hence flock around this lake.*
*The lake is compared to the mind (which has to be pure) and the swans (normally a pair of swan) are compared to jīvātma-s (souls) and Paramātma (the Brahman)} are compared to Lalitāmbikā. This story says that Brahman has a great liking for a pure mind and chooses to stay there forever, guiding the aspirant from within.*
