*జ్యోతిష్య శాస్త్రంలో మొత్తం 12 రాశులున్నాయి. ఇందులో సూర్యుడు ఒక్కో నెలలో ఒక్కో రాశిలో ప్రవేశిస్తాడు. సూర్యుడు ఏ రాశిలో సంచరిస్తే ఆ రాశి సంక్రమణంగా వ్యవహరిస్తారు. సూర్యుడు ధనుర్ రాశిలో ప్రవేశించింది మొదలు మకరరాశిలో ప్రవేశించడం వరకూ సంక్రాంతి పండుగ దినాలు. మకర రాశిలో ప్రవేశించిన రోజు మకర సంక్రాంతి. అప్పటి వరకూ దక్షిణాయనంలో సంచరిస్తూ వస్తున్న సూర్యుడు ఉత్తరాయణంలో ప్రవేశించిన శుభదినం కూడా ఇది.*
*సూర్యుడు హిందువులకు ప్రత్యక్ష బ్రహ్మ. కాల చక్రానికి అతీతంగా సంచరిస్తూ ఉండే పరమాత్మ స్వరూపం. ఉత్తరాయనంలో సూర్యుడు ధనుర్రాశి నుంచి మకర రాశి లోకి వచ్చే రోజు మకర సంక్రమణం జరుగు రోజు. అదే మకర సంక్రాంతి. భోగి తర్వాత రోజు వచ్చేదే సంక్రాంతి.*
*సంక్రాంతి రోజునే శ్రీ మహా విష్ణువు అసురులను మంధర పర్వతం కింద పూడ్చారు. ధర్మస్తాపన జరిగి అధర్మమును రూపుమాపిన రోజు సంక్రాంతి.*
*మకర సంక్రాంతి పుష్య మాసంలో వస్తుంది. పుష్యం అనగా పోషణ శక్తి గలదని అర్థం. స్నానం దానం, పూజ అనే మూడు విధులు సంక్రాంతి పర్వదినాన నిర్వర్తించాలి. సూర్యోదయాకి ముందే నువ్వుల పిండితో శరీరాకి నలుగు పెట్టి తలంటి స్నానం చేయాలి. జాతకంలో శని వల్లే కష్టాలు కలుగుతాయి. ఆయనను శాంతింప చేయాలంటే నువ్వులు దానమివ్వాలి. వాతావరణ పరంగా చూస్తే మంచు కురిసే హేమంత ఋతువు, శీతకాలం బాధలు నివారించుకోవడానికి స్నాన జలంలో నువ్వులు కలపడం, నువ్వులు తినడం, తిలలతో దైవ పూజ అనేవి ఆచరించే విధులు. ఆయుర్వేద పరంగా చూస్తే చలికాలంలో శరీరానికి నువ్వులు మంచి చేస్తాయి. నువ్వులు ఉష్ణవర్థకమైనవే కాకుండా బలవర్ధక మైనట్టివి.*
*మకర సంక్రాంతితో ఉత్తరాయణ పుణ్యకాలం ప్రారంభం కావడం వల్ల పండుగలన్నంటిలోనూ ఇది విశిష్టమైనది. ఉత్తరాయణం దేవతలకు ఇష్టమైన కాలం. ఈ సమయంలో పూజ, పునష్కారాలు, యజ్ఞయా గాదులు చేసి దేవతలను మెప్పించాలి. అలా చేయడం వల్ల కోరికలు నెరవేరుతాయని పూర్వీకుల నమ్మకం.*
*🌹. కనుము విశిష్టత 🌹*
*సంక్రాంతి పండుగల్లో చివరి రోజు కనుము. కనుము కర్షకుల పండుగ. పాడి పంటలను, పశు సంపదను, లక్ష్మీ స్వరూపంగా అర్పించే రోజు. ప్రకృతి స్వరూపిణీ అయిన అమ్మ ఆరాధన విశేషమే ఈ రోజు. తెలంగాణ ప్రాంతంలో ముత్తైదువులను తమ ఇంటికి ఆహ్వాంచి, పసుపు, కుంకుమలు, నువ్వుల పిండి మొదలైనవి ఇచ్చి 'సువాసి' పూజలు చేస్తారు. ఏడాదంతా పాడిపంటలకు తోడ్పడిన పశువులకు కృతజ్ఞతలు చెప్పడాకి 'కనుము' పండుగను జరుపుకుంటారు. మనది వ్యవసాయిక దేశం కనుక మనుష్యులకే కాదు, పశు పక్ష్యాదులకు ఇది పండుగే.*

*ఇది దేవ రాక్షస మానవ (సదసన్మిశ్రయోనిషు - సత్ - అసత్ మిశ్రయోనిషు). ఆత్మ పుట్టదు. శరీరం చేసిన పని నాదే అనుకున్న పాపానికి, ఆ శరీరానికి ఏ శిక్ష పడాలో దానికి తగ్గ శరీరం వస్తుంది. మానవుడి శరీరం తట్టుకొనే కష్ట సుఖాలను క్రిమి కీటకాలు తట్టుకోలేవు. మనం ఎంత పాపం చేస్తే అంత చిన్న శరీరం వస్తుంది. ఎలాంటి పాపం చేస్తే నాకిలాంటి శరీరం వచ్చింది అని ఆలోచించే కాలము కూడా లేని శరీరం వస్తుంది.*

*03. tena saṁsāra-padavīm avaśo 'bhyety anirvṛtaḥ*
*prāsaṅgikaiḥ karma-doṣaiḥ sad-asan-miśra-yoniṣu*
*The conditioned soul therefore transmigrates into different species of life, higher and lower, because of his association with the modes of material nature. Unless he is relieved of material activities, he has to accept this position because of his faulty work.*
*Here the word karma-doṣaiḥ means "by faulty actions." This refers to any activity, good or bad, performed in this material world—they are all contaminated, faulty actions because of material association. The foolish conditioned soul may think that he is offering charity by opening hospitals for material benefit or by opening an educational institution for material education, but he does not know that all such work is also faulty because it will not give him relief from the process of transmigration from one body to another. It is clearly stated here, sad-asan-miśra-yoniṣu. This means that one may take birth in a very high family or he may take his birth in higher planets, among the demigods, for his so-called pious activities in the material world. But this work is also faulty because it does not give liberation. One who desires material liberation has to turn his activities to devotional service. There is no alternative.*

నారదుడిట్లు పలికెను -
తండ్రీ! సర్వోత్తమమగు గణేశ జన్మ గాథను, గొప్ప ప్రరాక్రమముతో ప్రకాశించు ఆయన దివ్య చరితమును చక్కగా వింటిని (1). తండ్రీ! దేవ దేవా! తరువాత ఏమాయెను? మహానందమును కలిగించునది, గొప్ప ప్రకాశము గలది అగు పార్వతీ పరమేశ్వరుల కీర్తిని వర్ణించి శివతత్త్వమును వివరించుము (2).
బ్రహ్మ ఇట్లు పలికెను -
ఓ మహర్షీ! దయా స్వభావము గల నీవు చక్కగా ప్రశ్నించితివి. చెవులను అప్పగించి వినుము. ఓ బుషిశ్రేష్ఠా!నేను చెప్పెదను (3). ఓ విప్రశ్రేష్ఠా! ఇద్దరు కుమారుల పరమ లీలలను చూడగా పార్వతీ పరమేశ్వరులకు వారిపై గొప్ప ప్రేమ ఏర్పడెను(4). తల్లి దండ్రులు సర్వదా ప్రేమతో లాలించు చుండగా ఆ ఇద్దరు బాలకులు మిక్కిలి సుఖముగా పెరుగుతూ, ఎక్కువగా ఆటల నాడుచుండిరి (5). ఓ మహర్షీ ! వారిద్దరు బాలకులు గొప్ప భక్తితో గూడిన సమయములో తల్లి దండ్రులకు పరిచర్యలను కూడ చేసిరి (6).
ఆ తల్లి దండ్రులకు కుమార స్వామి యందు మరియు గణేశుని పైన మహాప్రేమ శుక్లపక్ష చంద్రుని వలె దినదినాభివృద్ది గాంచెను (7). ఓ దేవర్షీ! ఒకప్పుడు ప్రేమ స్వరూపులైన పార్వతీ పరమేశ్వరులు ఏకాంతము నందుండి దీర్ఘముగా ఆలోచించుచుండిరి (8).
పార్వతీ పరమేశ్వరులిట్లు పలికిరి -
బాలకు లిద్దరు వివాహమునకు యోగ్యమగు వయస్సును పొందిరి. ఈ ఇద్దరు కుమారులకు శుభకరమగు వివాహమును చేయట ఎట్లు? (9) కుమార స్వామి అత్యంత ప్రీతి పాత్రుడు. గణేశుడు కూడా అంతే. లీలలతో ఆనందించే ఆ దంపతుల వారి గురించి ఈ తీరున ఆలోచించు చుండిరి (10).
ఓ మునీ! ఆ ఇద్దరు కుమారులు తమ త్లి దండ్రుల మనోగతము నెరింగి వారి ఇచ్ఛచే వివాహము కొరకు తహతహలాడ జొచ్చిరి (11). 'నేను వివాహమాడెదను' అని ఒకరు అంటే, 'నేను వివాహమాడెదను' అని మరియొకరు అంటూ వారిద్దరు ఒకరితోనొకరు నిత్యము వివాద పడుచుండిరి (12).

2. O dear father, O lord of gods, what happened thereafter? Please narrate it. The great glory of Pārvatī and Śiva confers great delight.
Brahmā said:—
3. O excellent sage, you have asked well with a sympathetic mind. Listen attentively, O excellent sage, I shall narrate.
4. O excellent brahmin, seeing frequently the divine sports of both the sons, Pārvatī and Śiva had their love increased.
5. The happiness of the parents knew no bounds. The son too used to sport in joy and love.
6. O great sage, the sons rendered great service to their parents with great devotion.
7. The love and affection of the parents towards the six-faced lord and Gaṇeśa increased to a great extent like the moon in the bright half of the month.
8. O celestial sage, once the loving parents Pārvatī and Śiva held a secret talk and discussion.
Śiva and Pārvatī said:—
9. They thought that the two sons had attained to marriageable age and how best their marriage should be celebrated now.
I 0. The sixfaced lord Kārttikeya was their great beloved son. Gaṇeśa too was likewise. Thinking thus they were worried as well as delighted.
11. O sage, coming to know of their parents’ opinion, the sons too were eager to get married.
12. “I shall marry, I shall marry” saying thus to each other they always quarrelled with each other.

*Once you lose the capacity to be surprised, you are dead. If things can surprise you, you are still alive. And the more you are surprised by things, the more alive you are. That is the aliveness of children; they are surprised by trivia. One cannot even believe they are surprised--by just an ordinary tree, or bird, or dog, or cat, or a pebble on the shore. Children are even more surprised than you would be if you were to find a Kohinoor, a great diamond--even then you won't be surprised. But because children have the capacity to become surprised, each pebble becomes a diamond.*
*If you are not surprised, even a diamond becomes an ordinary pebble. Life carries as much meaning as you carry the capacity to be surprised, the capacity to wonder. So always remain open. Remind yourself again and again that life is infinite. It is always an ongoing process; it never comes to an end. It is an eternal journey, and each moment is new, each moment is original. When I say each moment is original, I mean each moment throws you back to your origin, .each moment makes you a child again.*

*తత్త్వమే తానుగా నున్నది శ్రీమాత అని అర్థము. 'తత్త్వ మనగా తత్ అనెడి పురుష, ప్రకృతుల సమాగమ ప్రజ్ఞ. అదే శాశ్వత సత్యము. అది అనిర్వచనీయమైనది. అనన్య మగుటచే దానిని గూర్చి తెలుపుట అసాధ్యము. *మరొకరు లేని స్థితి యందు అది ఎట్లు వున్నదో తెలుపుట ఎట్లు సాధ్యము? శ్రీమాత అట్టి తత్త్వము.*

*Srimata itself is wisdom (tattva). The meaning of Tattva(Wisdom) is the amalgamation of Nature and Consciousness in equilibrium. It is the divine knowledge ( Pragnya). That is the eternal truth. It is indefinable. It is impossible to tell about it due to its uniqueness. How is it possible to express what it is in the absence of another? Srimata is such philosophy.*
*Connecting with that philosophy is the ultimate meditation. When the connection is taking place, the meditator is drawn into that Tattva and becomes Tattva without himself. To reach such a state is the worship of Srimata.*
