*తాత్పర్యము : మానవుడు నిష్కామ భావముతో శ్రద్ధా పూర్వకముగా తన నిత్య నైమిత్తిక కర్తవ్యకర్మలను నెరవేర్చ వలెను. హింసారహితమైన ఉత్తమ క్రియాయోగము అనగా పూజాదికములను అనుదినము అనుష్ఠింపవలెను. నా ప్రతిమను దర్శించుచు, స్పృశించుచు, పూజించుచు, స్తుతించుచు వందనమాచరింప వలెను.*

*15. niṣevitenānimittena sva-dharmeṇa mahīyasā*
*kriyā-yogena śastena nātihiṁsreṇa nityaśaḥ*
*MEANING : A devotee must execute his prescribed duties, which are glorious, without material profit. Without excessive violence, one should regularly perform one's devotional activities.*
*PURPORT : One has to execute his prescribed duties according to his social position as a brāhmaṇa, kṣatriya, vaiśya or śūdra. The prescribed duties of the four classes of men in human society are also described in Bhagavad-gītā. The activities of brāhmaṇas are to control the senses and to become simple, clean, learned devotees. The kṣatriyas have the spirit for ruling, they are not afraid on the battlefield, and they are charitable. The vaiśyas, or the mercantile class of men, trade in commodities, protect cows and develop agricultural produce. The śūdras, or laborer class, serve the higher classes because they themselves are not very intelligent. From every position, as confirmed in Bhagavad-gītā, sva-karmaṇā tam abhyarcya: (BG 18.46) one can serve the Supreme Lord by performing one's prescribed duty. It is not that only the brāhmaṇas can serve the Supreme Lord and not the śūdras. Anyone can serve the Supreme Lord by performing his prescribed duties under the direction of a spiritual master, or representative of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. No one should think that his prescribed duties are inferior. Another significant phrase in this verse is nātihiṁsreṇa ("with minimum violence or sacrifice of life"). Even if a devotee has to commit violence, it should not be done beyond what is necessary.*

*సనత్కుమారుడిట్లు పలికెను - గురువగు భార్గవుడిట్లు చెప్పగా, ఆ రాక్షసరాజు వెను వెంటనే ఆ గొప్ప పర్వతము ఉన్న స్థలమునకు వచ్చెను (54). ఆ రాక్షసుడు తన భుజములతో ఆ పర్వతమునువేగముగా లాగుకొనిపోయి వెంటనే సముద్రములో పారవైచెను. శివుని తేజస్సునుండి పుట్టిన వ్యక్తి ఇట్టి పనిని చేయుట ఆశ్చర్యము కాదు (55). మహావీరుడగు ఆ జలంధరుడు వెనుకకు మరలివచ్చి ఆ మహాసంగ్రామములో తన గొప్ప బలమును ప్రదర్శించు వాడై దేవతలను వివిధములగు అస్త్రములతో సంహరింపజొచ్చెను (56). ఇట్లు దేవతలు సంహరింపబడుటను గాంచి, దేవతలచే పూజింపబడు వాడు, గురువునగు అంగిరసుడు ద్రోణ పర్వతము వద్దకు చనెను. కాని ఆతనికి అచట ఆ పర్వతము కానరాలేదు (57). ద్రోణపర్వతము రాక్షసులచే అపహరింపబడినదని తెలియగానే బుద్ధిశాలియగు బృహస్పతి భయముతో నిండిన మనస్సు గల వాడై వచ్చి దేవతలతో నిట్లనెను (58).*
*గురువు ఇట్లు పలికెను - దేవతలారా! మీరందరు పారిపొండు. గొప్ప ద్రోణపర్వతము ఇప్పుడు లేదు. సముద్రపుత్రుడగు ఆ రాక్షసుడు దానిని నిశ్చితముగా నాశనము చేసి యుండును (59). జలంధరుడు మహారాక్షసుడు, రుద్రుని అంశ##చే జన్మించిన వాడు, మరియు శత్రువులనందనరినీ జయించినవాడు. ఈతనిపై విజయమును పొందుట శక్యము కాదు (60) ఓ దేవతలారా! ఈతడు జన్మించిన విధానము, ఈతని ప్రభావము నాకు తెలిసినవి. శివుని అవమాని ఇంద్రుడు చేసిన చేష్టను అంతనూ గుర్తుకు తెచ్చుకొనుడు (61).*

54. Thus addressed by his preceptor Bhārgava, the lord of the Asuras, hastened to the lofty mountain.
55. With his powerful arms, the Asura brought the mountain Droṇa and hurled it immediately into the ocean. There is nothing wonderful and mysterious in regard to the splendour of Śiva.
56. The great hero, the son of the ocean, took a vast army with him, came to the battle ground and began to kill the gods with various weapons.
57. On seeing the gods being killed Bṛhaspati went to the mountain Droṇa. Then he, the object of praise and worship by the gods, did not see the mountain there.
58. On realising that the mountain Droṇa had been removed by the Asuras, Bṛhaspati was terrified. He returned and said dejectedly.
Bṛhaspati said:—
59. “O gods, run away, all of you. There is no trace of the great mountain Droṇa. Certainly it has been destroyed by the Asura, the son of the ocean.
60. Jalandhara is a great Asura. He cannot be conquered since he is born of a part of Śiva. He will pound all the gods.
61. His power has been understood by me as he is self-born. O gods, all of you remember the act of offence to Śiva perpetrated by Indra.

From new moon to full moon, it is natural for the mind to be restless with many phases. The Vedas tell us that the moon is our mind. The saying is 'Chandrama Manaso Jatah'. When the moon has phases, the mind also has phases. When the moon itself is eclipsed, doesn't the mind gets eclipsed? Humans are the living beings of the mind. With the ups and downs of the mind, the living being becomes conscious and depressed.*
