*🌻. "ముద్రల లక్షణము 🌻*
నారదుడు పలికెను :
దేవతాసాంనిధ్యాదులను కలిగించు ముద్రల లక్షణమును చెప్పెదను. హృదయమునకు సమీపమున కట్టబడిన అంజలి మొదటి ముద్ర. రెండవది వందని. మూడవది హృదయానుగ.
ఎడమచేతి పిడికిలిని బొటనవ్రేలు పైకినిలచి ఉండునట్లును, (అంజలి) కుడిచేతి బొటనవ్రేలు వంచిబింధించినట్లును (వందని) ఉంచవలెను. అట్లే రెండు పిడికెళ్ళ అంగుష్ఠములును పైకి నిలచి ఉండవలెను. (హృదయానుగ). ఈ మూడును వ్యూహామునందు సాధారణముద్రలు. వరుసగా కనిష్ఠిక మొదలైన వాటిని విడువగా ఏర్పడిన ఎనిమిది ముద్రలు అసాధారణములు.
ఈ ఎనిమిది ముద్రలను పూర్వము చెప్పిన బీజములు ఎనిమిదింటికిని క్రమముగా వినియోగించవలెను. కనిష్ఠిక వరకును ఉన్న మూడు వ్రేళ్ళను అంగుష్ఠముచేత వంచి, పైకి ఉండునట్లును, సంముఖముగాను చేసి నవమబీజమునకు వినియోగించవలెను. వామహస్తమును తిరగదీసి మెల్లగా పైకి వంచవలెను. అది వరాహముద్ర.
అంగములకు వరుసగా ఈ చెప్పబోవు ఎనిమిది ముద్రలు ఉపయోగించవలెను. వామముష్టియందు ఒక్కొక్క వ్రేలిని ముణిచి చూపవలెను. పూర్వముద్రను వంచవలెను. దక్షిణహస్తమునందు కూడ ఇట్లే చేయవలెను. వామముష్టియందలి అంగుష్ఠము నిలచి ఉండును. ఈ విధముగా చేసినచో ముద్రాసిద్ధి కలుగును.
అగ్ని మహాపురాణమునందు ముద్రాలక్షణ మను షడ్వింశాధ్యాయము సమాప్తము.

*Chapter 26*
*🌻 A description of different positions of fingers in worship 🌻*
1. (I now) describe the characteristic of (the different) positions of fingers (mudrā) (which) bring (the worshipper) nearer (to the object of worship). Añjali (folding of hands) is the first mudrā. (The second) is the Vandanī (fingers interlocked) to be placed near the heart.
2. With the left fist folded and the thumb erect, the right thumb interwoven with the erect left thumb is said to be (the third one).
3. (These are) the three common formations. The (following are) not common. By the unyoking of the smallest and other fingers eight positions (are formed) in order.
4. The first eight basic syllables are repeated in order. One has to bend the three fingers commencing with the little finger, with the thumb.
5. One has to raise up the hand to the face for the ninth mystic syllable. Then the left hand is raised up and bent half slowly.
6. These are the mudrās of the limbs of Varāha[1] in order. Then the left fist having been kept closed, the fingers are released one by one.
7. The same position is held by the right hand also and the previous position is bent down. The left fist (is held) with the thumb erect. This results in the accomplishment of the mudrā.

అతడా బాలునికి కుడి పార్శ్వమునందు వజ్రముతో కొట్టెను. అచట నుండి మహాబలశాలియగు శాఖుడనే పురుషుడొకడు పుట్టెను (22). అపుడు మరల ఇంద్రుడు ఆ బాలుని ఎడమ పార్శ్వమునందు వజ్రముతో కోట్టెను. అపుడు విశాఖుడను పేరు గల మరియొక బలశాలియగు పురుషుడు పుట్టెను (23). అపుడు ఇంద్రుడు వజ్రముతో ఆ బాలుని హృదయముపై కొట్టగా, అదే తీరున మహా బలశాలి నైగముడను పేరు గలవాడు అగు మరియొక పురుషుడు జన్మించెను (24).
అపుడు మహావీరులు, మహాబలులు అగు ఆ స్కందాది నల్గురు పురషులు వెంటనే ఇంద్రుని సంహరించుటకు ఉద్యమించగా, ఇంద్రుడు వారిని శరణు పొందెను (25).
ఓ మహర్షీ ! ఇంద్రునకు ఆ నల్గురిలో గల భేదము తెలియలేదు. అతడు భయపడి దేవతాగణములతో గూడి అశ్చర్యముతో తన లోకములోని స్వగృహమునకు వెళ్లెను (26). కుమారా! అనేక లీలలను ప్రదర్శించే సమర్థుడగు ఆ బాలకుడు పూర్వమువలెనే
నిర్భయుడై ఆనందముతో అచటనే నిలబడి యుండెను (27). ఆ సమయములో అచటకు కృత్తికలనే ఆర్గురు స్త్రీలు స్నానము కొరకై వచ్చి కాంతులను వెదజల్లే ఆ బాలకుని గాంచిరి (28). కృత్తికలనే ఆ స్త్రీలు అందరు ఆ బాలుని తీసుకొనగోరిరి. ఓ మునీ! ఆ బాలుని ఎవరు తీసుకొనవలెననే విషయములో వారి మధ్య వాదము చెలరేగెను (29).
ఓ మునీ! వారి వాదమును తొలగించుటకై ఆ బాలుడు ఆరు ముఖములను పొంది వారందరి స్తన్యమును త్రాగగా వారు ఆనందించిరి (30). ఆ బాలుని మనస్సులోని ఆలోచనను ఎరింగి ఆ కృత్తిలందరు అపుడా బాలకుని తీసుకొని ఆనందముతో తమ లోకమునకు వెళ్లిరి (31).

23. With his thunderbolt he hit on his right side. A person named “Śākha”[2] of great strength came out of that side.
24. Śakra struck him again with his thunderbolt on his left side. Another strong person named Viśākha came out of that side.
25. Then Indra struck his heart with his thunderbolt. Another person very powerful like him named Naigama came out.
26. Then the four of great heroic strength including Skanda rushed to attack Indra. I offered my protection to Indra.
27. Afraid of Guha, Indra with all the gods went away to his region agitatedly. O sage, he did not know his secret.
28. That boy remained there itself as fearless as before. O dear, he was highly pleased and continued his divine sports of various sorts.
29. Meanwhile the six ladies named Kṛttikās came there for bath and they saw the lordly boy.
30. All of them desired to take and fondle him O sage, as a result of their simultaneous desire for taking and fondling the boy, a dispute arose.
31. In order to quell their mutual dispute, the boy assumed six faces and drank milk off their breasts. O sage, they were all satisfied.

*🕉. Those moments when you feel that what you are doing is foolish are very rare moments if wisdom. 🕉*
*To be seeking is foolish, because that which 'we are seeking we already have. To meditate is foolish, because meditation is a state of nondoing. To ask is foolish, because the answer cannot come from the outside-it can only come from your own heart. In fact, it cannot come as an answer, it will come as a growth. It will be a blossoming, a blooming of your being. But those moments when you feel that what you are doing is foolish are very rare moments of wisdom. You cannot always feel foolish, otherwise you will become enlightened! In the Zen tradition this incident is repeated again and again, in every age with every master: Somebody comes and says he wants to know how to become a Buddha and the master hits him very hard-because the question is foolish.*
*Sometimes it has happened, if he is really ready and on the verge, that with the first hit of the master the person has become enlightened. He was able to see in that hit that it was foolish to ask how to be a Buddha, because he was one already! These things are going to happen to every seeker by and by. While you are meditating, suddenly there is a ray of light and you see that it is foolish. But those are very rare moments of wisdom. It is only a wise man who can feel foolish. Fools never feel that they are foolish; they think that they are wise. That is the definition of a foolish man: he thinks he is wise. And a wise man is one who has come to know that everything is foolish.*
