01. భూదేవి విష్ణుభగవానుని గూర్చి ఇట్లు ప్రశ్నించెను. ఓ భగవానుడా! పరమేశ్వరా! ప్రభూ! ప్రారబ్ధము అనుభవిం చే వానికి అచంచలమైన భక్తి ఎట్లు కలుగగలదు?
02. ఓ భూదేవీ! ప్రారబ్ధము అనుభవిస్తున్ననూ ఎవరు నిరంతరము గీతాభ్యాస మందు నిరతుడై ఉండునో అట్టివాడు ముక్తుడై కర్మలచే అంటబడక ఈ ప్రపంచము నందు సుఖముగా ఉండును.
03. తామరాకును నీరంటనట్లు గీతాధ్యానము చేయు వానిని మహాపాపములు కూడా కొంచమైనను అంటవు.
04. ఎచ్చట గీతా గ్రంధము ఉండునో మరియు ఎచ్చట గీతా పారాయణము జరుగుచుండునో అచ్చట ప్రయాగ మొదలగు సమస్త తీర్ధములు ఉండును.
05. ఎచ్చట గీతాపారాయ ణము జరుగుచుండునో అచటికి దేవతలు, ఋషులు, యోగులు, నాగులు, గోపికలు, గోపాలురు భగవత్స్పర్శ్యా స్యాసక్తులగు నారద, ఉద్ధవాదులు వచ్చి శీఘ్రముగా సహాయమొనర్తురు.
06. ఓ భూదేవీ! ఎచట గీతను గూర్చి విచారణ, పఠనము, భోధన, శ్రవణము జరుగు చుండునో అచట నేను ఎల్లప్పుడు తప్పక నివసింతును.
07. నేను గీతనాశ్రయించి ఉన్నాను, గీతయే నాకు ఉత్తమగు నివాస మందిరము మరియు గీతాజ్ఞానమును ఆశ్రయించియే మూడు లోకాలను నేను పాలించుచున్నాను.
08. గీత నా యొక్క పరమ విద్య అది బ్రహ్మస్వరూపము దీనిలో సందేహము లేదు, మరియు అది ప్రణవములో నాలగవ పాదమగు అర్ధమాత్రా స్వరూపము, నిత్యమైనది, నాశరహితమైనది, అనిర్వచ నీయమైనది.
09. సచ్చిదానంద స్వరూపు డగు శ్రీ కృష్ణ పరమాత్మచే స్వయముగా అర్జుననుకు ఉపదేశింప బడినది. ఇది మూడు వేదముల సారము, పరమానందమయినది, తన్నాశ్రయించిన వారికి శీఘ్రముగా తత్వజ్ఞానాన్ని కలుగచేయును.
10. ఏ నరుడు నిత్యమూ గీతయందలి పద్దెనిమిది అధ్యాయములను పఠించునో అతడు జ్ఞానసిద్ధిని పొంది తద్వారా పరమ పదమును (మోక్షమును) పొందును.
11. గీతని మొత్తము పఠించలేని వారు అందులో సగమైనను పఠించవలెను దీనివలన అతడికి గోదాన ఫలము వలన కలుగు పుణ్యము లభించుననుటలో సందేహము లేదు.
12. గీతయొక్క మూడవ భాగము(ఆరుఅధ్యాయములు) పఠించినవానికి గంగా స్నాన ఫలము లభించును, ఆరవ భాగము (మూడు అధ్యాయములు)పఠించువారికి సోమయాగ ఫలము లభించును.
13. ఎవడు గీతయొక్క ఒక అధ్యాయము భక్తితో పఠించునో అతడు రుద్ర లోకమును పొంది రుద్ర గణములలో ఒకడుగా శాశ్వతముగా నివసించును.
14. ఓ భూదేవీ ఎవరు గీత నందలి ఒక అధ్యాయము నందలి నాల్గవ భాగమును నిత్యమూ పఠించునో అతడు ఉత్కృష్టమైన మానవ జన్మ ఒక మన్వంతర కాలము పొందును.
15. ఎవరు గీతనందలి పది శ్లోకములను కానీ, ఏడు శ్లోకములను కానీ, ఐదు శ్లోకములను కానీ, నాలుగు శ్లోకములను కానీ, మూడు శ్లోకములను కానీ, రెండు శ్లోకములను కానీ, ఒక శ్లోకమును కానీ, అర్ధ శ్లోకమును కానీ నిత్యము ఏవరు పటింతురో,
16. వారు చంద్రలోకములో పదివేల సంవత్సరములు సుఖముగా జీవించుననుటలో సందేహము లేదు మరియు గీతను పఠిస్తూ ఎవరు మరణిస్తారో అతడు ఉత్తమ మగు మానవ జన్మను పొందుట నిశ్చయము.
17. అట్లాతడు మానవుడై జన్మించి గీతాభ్యాసమును మరల మరల గావించి ఉత్తమమగు మోక్షమును పొందుననుటలో సంశయము లేదు. గీతా గీతా అనుచు ప్రాణమును వదలువాడు సత్గతిని పొందుననుటలో సందేహము లేదు.
18. మహా పాపాత్ముడైనను అతడు గీతార్ధమును తెలుసుకొనుటలో ఆసక్తుడై నచో అతడు విష్ణు లోకమును పొంది శ్రీమహా విష్ణు సన్నిధిలో ఆనందమును అనుభవించు చూ ఉండును.
19. ఎవడు గీతార్ధమును నిత్యము చింతన చేయుచుం డునో అతడు అనేక కర్మల నాచరించిననూ జీవన్ముక్తు డేనని చెప్పబడెను, మరియు దేహ పతనానంతరము పరమ పదమును (కైవల్యమును) పొందును.
20. ఈ ప్రపంచమున గీతను ఆశ్రయించి జనకాది రాజులు అనేకులు పాపరహితులై ముక్తిని పొందియున్నారు.
21. గీతని పఠించి పిదప మహత్యమును ఎవరు పఠించకుందురో అట్టి వారి గీతా పఠనము వ్యర్ధమే (నిష్ఫలమే). అట్టివారి గీతాపఠనము శ్రమ మాత్రమే నని చెప్ప బడినది.
22. గీతా మహత్యముతో గీతా పారాయణము చేయువారు పైన చెప్పబడిన ఫలములను పొంది, దుర్లభ మగు సద్గతిని పొందుతురు.
23. శౌనకాది ఋషులారా! ఈ ప్రకారముగా సనాతనమైన గీతా మహత్యమును మీకు తెలుపుచున్నాను. దీనిని గీతా పారాయణానంతరము ఎవరు పఠింతురో అతడు పైన చెప్పిన ఫలమును పొందును.

Sri Ganeshaaya Namah! Gopaalakrishnaaya Namah!
1. The Earth said: O Bhagavan, the Supreme Lord! How can unflinching devotion arise in him who is immersed in his Prarabdha Karmas (worldly life), O Lord?
2. Lord Vishnu said: Though engaged in the performance of worldly duties, one who is regular in the study of the Gita becomes free. He is the happy man in this world. He is not bound by Karma.
3. Just as the water stains not the lotus leaf, even so sins do not taint him who is regular in the recitation of the Gita.
4. All the sacred centres of pilgrimage, like Prayag and other places, dwell in that place where the Gita is kept, and where the Gita is read.
5. All the Gods, Sages, Yogins, divine Serpents, Gopalas, Gopikas (friends and devotees of Lord Krishna), Narada, Uddhava and Others (dwell here).
6. Help comes quickly where the Gita is recited and, O Earth, I ever dwell where it is read, heard, taught and contemplated upon!
7. I take refuge in the Gita, and the Gita is My best abode. I protect the three worlds with the knowledge of the Gita.
8. The Gita is My highest science, which is doubtless of the form of Brahman, the Eternal, the Ardhamatra (of the Pranava Om), the ineffable splendour of the Self.
9. It was spoken by the blessed Lord Krishna, the all-knowing, through His own mouth, to Arjuna. It contains the essence of the Vedas—the knowledge of the Reality. It is full of supreme bliss.
10. He who recites the eighteen chapters of the Bhagavad Gita daily, with a pure and unshaken mind, attains perfection in knowledge, and reaches the highest state or supreme goal.
11. If a complete reading is not possible, even if only half is read, he attains the benefit of giving a cow as a gift. There is no doubt about this.
12. He who recites one-third part of it achieves the merit of a bath in the sacred river Ganges; and who recites one-sixth of it attains the merit of performing a Soma sacrifice (a kind of ritual).
13. That person who reads one discourse with supreme faith and devotion attains to the world of Rudra and, having become a Gana (an attendant of Lord Shiva), lives there for many years.
14. If one reads a discourse or even a part of a verse daily he, O Earth, retains a human body till the end of a Manvantara (71 Mahayugas or 308,448,000 years).
15-16. He who repeats ten, seven, five, four, three, two verses or even one or half of it, attains the region of the moon and lives there for 10,000 years. Accustomed to the daily study of the Gita, a dying man comes back to life again as a human being.
17. By repeated study of the Gita, he attains liberation. Uttering the word Gita at the time of death, a person attains liberation.
18. Though full of sins, one who is ever intent on hearing the meaning of the Gita, goes to the kingdom of God and rejoices with Lord Vishnu.
19. He who meditates on the meaning of the Gita, having performed many virtuous actions, attains the supreme goal after death. Such an individual should be considered a true Jivanmukta.
20. In this world, taking refuge in the Gita, many kings like Janaka and others reached thehighest state or goal, purified of all sins.
21. He who fails to read this “Glory of the Gita” after having read the Gita, loses the benefit thereby, and the effort alone remains.
22. One who studies the Gita, together with this “Glory of the Gita”, attains the fruits mentioned above, and reaches the state which is otherwise very difficult to be attained.
23. Suta said: This greatness or “Glory of the Gita”, which is eternal, as narrated by me, should be readat the end of the study of the Gita, and the fruits mentioned therein will be obtained.
24. Thus ends the “Glory of the Gita” contained in the Varaha Purana.

*తాత్పర్యము : నేను ఆత్మ స్వరూపుడను. వాస్తవముగా పంచభూతములతో రచింప బడిన ఈ శరీరముతో నాకు ఎట్టి సంబంధమూ లేదు. ఐననూ ఇందులో చిక్కుపడి ఇంద్రియములు, త్రిగుణములు,శబ్దాది విషయములు, అహంకారములతో కలిసియున్నాను. కానీ, నీ మహిమ అకుంఠితమైనది. నీవు జ్ఞాన స్వరూపుడవు, సర్వజ్ఞుడవు. ప్రకృతి- పురుషులకు అతీతుడవైన పురుషోత్తముడవు. అట్టి పురాణ పురుషుడవైన నీకు వందన మాచరించు చున్నాను.*

*14. yaḥ pañca-bhūta-racite rahitaḥ śarīre cchanno 'yathendriya-guṇārtha-cid-ātmako 'ham*
*tenāvikuṇṭha-mahimānam ṛṣiṁ tam enaṁ vande paraṁ prakṛti-pūruṣayoḥ pumāṁsam*
*MEANING : I am separated from the Supreme Lord because of my being in this material body, which is made of five elements, and therefore my qualities and senses are being misused, although I am essentially spiritual. Because the Supreme Personality of Godhead is transcendental to material nature and the living entities, because He is devoid of such a material body, and because He is always glorious in His spiritual qualities, I offer my obeisances unto Him.*
*PURPORT : The difference between the living entity and the Supreme Personality of Godhead is that the living entity is prone to be subjected to material nature, whereas the Supreme Godhead is always transcendental to material nature as well as to the living entities. When the living entity is put into material nature, then his senses and qualities are polluted, or designated. There is no possibility for the Supreme Lord to become embodied by material qualities or material senses, for He is above the influence of material nature and cannot possibly be put in the darkness of ignorance like the living entities. Because of His full knowledge, He is never subjected to the influence of material nature. Material nature is always under His control, and it is therefore not possible that material nature can control the Supreme Personality of Godhead.*
*Since the identity of the living entity is very minute, he is prone to be subjected to material nature, but when he is freed from this material body, which is false, he attains the same, spiritual nature as the Supreme Lord. At that time there is no qualitative difference between him and the Supreme Lord, but because he is not so quantitatively powerful as to never be put under the influence of material nature, he is quantitatively different from the Lord. *

*🌻 5. జీవితం ఒక రహస్యం, అది గణితం కాదు 🌻*
*ఉత్తరకాశీలో మీరు మీ కడుపు నింపుకోలేరు. ఆకలిగొన్న కడుపుతో తిరిగి రిషికేష్ రావాలి. మీరు హమ్మయ్య, ఉత్తరకాశీకి వీడ్కోలు' అని అనుకుంటారు. మీరు తిరిగి వచ్చేస్తారు. ఇంతకు ముందు చాలా మంది ప్రయత్నించారు; వారు అక్కడ నివసించ లేక పోయారు, ఎందుకంటే మానవ స్వభావం చాలా క్లిష్టమైన నిర్మాణం. మీరు దానిని ఒక పావురంలా పంజరంలో ఉంచలేరు. ఇది అంత తేలిగ్గా అర్థం కాని అస్థిరమైన, అసాధ్యమైన జీవి. అంత సులభంగా నిర్వహించబడదు. మీరు ఉత్తరకాశీలో ఉండలేరు. అలాగని హాలీవుడ్‌లోనూ ఉండలేరు. మనలో ఉన్న అద్భుతమైన వైరుధ్యం కారణంగా ఏ ప్రదేశానికి వెళ్ళినా, అది విఫలమవుతుంది. ఈ వైరుధ్యం మన ఉనికి అంత అద్భుతంగానూ ఉంటుంది, ఎందుకంటే ఇది విశ్వం యొక్క రహస్యాన్ని సూక్ష్మ స్థాయిలో కలిగి ఉంటుంది.*
*కాబట్టి దీనిని గణిత లేదా శాస్త్రీయ పద్ధతిలో లేదా పూర్తిగా తర్కంతో బోధించలేరు. ఇది ఒక రహస్యం. జీవితం ఒక రహస్యం, అది గణితం కాదు. ఇది సమీకరణం కాదు. గణితంలో లాగా రెండు అంకెలు కూడితే ఇది వస్తుంది లాంటి సిద్ధాంతాలు ఆధ్యాత్మిక మార్గంలో చెల్లవు. ఇది చాలా కష్టమైన పని. ఇది శాస్త్రం కంటే ఇది ఒక కళ అని మనం అనవచ్చు. సరే, అసలు విషయానికి వస్తే, ఆధ్యాత్మిక సాధకుడికి ఎదురయ్యే ఈ కష్టం, అతను మార్గంలో ముందుకు సాగుతున్నప్పుడు, పాండవుల కష్టాలను పోలి ఉంటుంది.*

*🌻 5. Life is a Mystery, and it is not Mathematics 🌻*
*In Uttarkashi you cannot get your stomach filled. You have to come back to Rishikesh with a hungry stomach. You say, “Thank God, goodbye to Uttarkashi.” You come back. People have tried; they cannot live there, because human nature is a very complex structure. You cannot simply tabulate it into pigeon holes. It is an un under standable, impossible organism, and cannot be easily handled. You cannot stay either in Uttarkashi or in Hollywood. Either place would be a failure due to the miraculous dissidence that is within us, as miraculous as we ourselves are, because it has an element of the mystery of the cosmos.*
*And so one cannot teach it in a mathematical or scientific manner, or purely in the light of logic. It is a mystery. Life is a mystery, and it is not mathematics. It is not an equation. We cannot say that this plus that is equal to that—that is not possible in spiritual sadhana. It is a very difficult task. It is an art rather than a science, we may say. Well, coming to the point, this difficulty that the spiritual seeker faces, as he advances on the path, is similar to the difficulties of the Pandavas.*

*🌴. జాగృత, స్వప్న, గాఢనిద్ర అనే మూడు స్థితులలోకి, నాల్గవ స్థితి అయిన తుర్యా యొక్క ఆనందం తైలధార లాగా ప్రవహించాలి. 🌴*
*మునుపటి రెండు సూత్రాలలో అత్యున్నత స్థాయి స్పృహతో అప్పుడప్పడు సంబంధాన్ని కలిగి ఉండటం వల్ల కలిగే పరిణామాల గురించి చర్చించిన తర్వాత ఈ సూత్రం ప్రాముఖ్యతను సంతరించు కుంటుంది. నాల్గవది అయిన తుర్య స్థితి, శుద్ధవిద్య (స్వచ్ఛమైన జ్ఞానం)తో నిండి ఉంటుంది. ఇది స్వచ్ఛమైన స్పృహకు దారి తీస్తుంది. చైతన్యం యొక్క దిగువ స్థాయిలను ఉన్నత స్థాయి చైతన్య స్పృహతో శక్తివంతం చేయడం ద్వారా, చైతన్యం యొక్క దిగువ స్థాయిలు వాటి వ్యక్తిగత గుర్తింపులను కోల్పోయి, తుర్యలో భాగమవుతాయి. మరో మాటలో చెప్పాలంటే, వారిని దిగువ స్థాయిలలో అసమర్థులుగా చేయడం ద్వారా ఉన్నత స్థాయి చైతన్య స్పృహ ప్రభావం, దిగువ స్థాయి స్పృహపై ప్రబలంగా కొనసాగుతుంది. ఈ సూక్ష్మ అంతర్గత పరివర్తన, శుద్ధవిద్య నుండి ఉద్భవించిన ఆనంద స్థితిలో సాధకుడిని ఎల్లప్పుడూ ఉండేలా చేస్తుంది.*

*🌴. In the three states of wakeful, dream and deep sleep states, the bliss of the fourth state of turya should be dropped like oil. 🌴*
*This aphorism attains significance after having discussed about the consequences of having intermittent connectivity with the highest level of consciousness in the previous two aphorisms. The fourth state is turya, which is full of suddhavidyā (pure knowledge) leading to the purest form of consciousness. By empowering the lower levels of consciousness with the higher level of consciousness, the lower levels of consciousness lose their individual identities and become part of turya. In other words, the higher level consciousness continues to prevail over the lower levels of consciousness by making them incapacitated. This subtle internal transformation makes the aspirant to always exist in the state of bliss, derived out of suddhavidyā.*
