*MEANING : Devahūti inquired: My dear Lord, You have already very scientifically described the symptoms of the total material nature and the characteristics of the spirit according to the Sāṅkhya system of philosophy.*
*PURPORT : In this Twenty-ninth Chapter, the glories of devotional service are elaborately explained, and the influence of time on the conditioned soul is also described. The purpose of elaborately describing the influence of time is to detach the conditioned soul from his material activities, which are considered to be simply a waste of time. In the previous chapter, material nature, the spirit and the Supreme Lord, or Supersoul, are analytically studied, and in this chapter the principles of bhakti-yoga, or devotional service—the execution of activities in the eternal relationship between the living entities and the Personality of Godhead—are explained.*

*The Supreme Lord, who is the first form of Prajapati, perceives the essence of the worlds like Saranga, i.e. like the essence of fireflies and all others, so that Supreme Soul is called 'Lokasaranga'.*
*Like the sāraṅga i.e, the honeybee, He acquires the essence of the worlds so Lokasāraṅgaḥ vide the śruti 'Prajāpatirlokā nabhyatapat' (Chāndogyopaniṣat 2.23.3) 'Prajāpati reflected on mankind'.*
*The essence of universe i.e, lokasāra is Oṅkāra (ॐ). He is to be attained by it.*

మంత్రముచే నిరోధింపబడిన సర్పము వలె బాహువు స్తంభించుటచే కలిగిన కోపముతో శచీపతియగు ఇంద్రుడు తనలో తాను తపింప చేయబడెను (19). ఆ పురుషుడు స్వీయతేజస్సుతో ప్రకాశించుటను గాంచిన బృహస్పతి వెంటనే తన బుద్ధిచే ఆయనను గుర్తు పట్టి, ఆ శివప్రభువునకు ప్రణమిల్లెను (20). ప్రజ్ఞాశాలియగు బృహస్పతి అపుడు చేతులు జోడించి నేలపై బడి సాష్టాంగ ప్రణామము నాచరించి ఆ ప్రభువును స్తుతించుట మొదలిడెను (21).
బృహస్పతి ఇట్లు పలికెను -
దేవతలకు అధిదేవుడు, ఆత్మరూపుడు, మహేశ్వరుడు, ప్రభువు, ముక్కంటి, జటాజూట ధారి యగు మహాదేవుని కొరకు నమస్కారము (22). దీనులకు ప్రభువు, సర్వవ్యాపకుడు, అంధకాసురుని సంమరించిన వాడు, త్రిపురములను నాశము చేసినవాడు, పరంబ్రహ్మ, పరమేష్టి అగు శర్వునకు నమస్కారము (23). బేసి కన్నులవాడు, అనేకరూపములలో ప్రకటమై మంగళములను చేయువాడు, రుద్రుడు, వికృతరూపుడు, పెద్ద రూపము గలవాడు, రూపములకు అతీతుడు అగు నీకు నమస్కారము (24). దక్షయజ్ఞమును నాశనము చేసినవాడు, యజ్ఞముల ఫలమును ఇచ్చు వాడు, యజ్ఞ స్వరూపుడు, శ్రేష్ఠకర్మలను చేయించు వాడు అగు నీకు నమస్కారము (25). మృత్యువునకు మృత్యువు, కాల స్వరూపుడు, కాలసర్పములను ధరించువాడు, పరమేశ్వరుడు, సర్వవ్యాపకుడు అగు నీకు నమస్కారము (26).

20. On seeing him resplendent, Bṛhaspati realised immediately that he was lord Śiva himself and bowed to him.
21. Then the noble-minded Bṛhaspati joined his palms in reverence. He prostrated before him on the ground and began to eulogise the lord.
Bṛhaspati said:—
22. Obeisance to Śiva, the chief lord of the gods, the supreme soul, the three-eyed, possessed of matted hair.
23. Obeisance to the succouring lord of the distressed, the destroyer of Andhaka[2] and the Tripuras, and identical with Brahmā, the Parameṣṭhin.
24. Obeisance to Śiva of odd eyes, of diverse, deformed and surpassing features, going beyond all forms.
25. Obeisance to the destroyer of sacrifice of Dakṣa, to the bestower of fruits of sacrifice, identical with sacrifice and the initiator of the greatest rites.

These are the centers of production of prajna and when both of these are in harmony, the centre of the brow becomes illuminated. That light dispels darkness and ignorance.
