*తాత్పర్యము : భగవంతునిచే స్త్రీ రూపమున సృష్టింపబడిన ఈ మాయ మెల్ల మెల్లగా సేవచేయు నెపముతో పురుషుని దరిజేరును. కనుక, ఈ మాయను గడ్డిచే కప్పబడిన బావివలె, మృత్యు రూపముగా ఎరుగవలయును.*

*40. yopayāti śanair māyā yoṣid deva-vinirmitā*
*tām īkṣetātmano mṛtyuṁ tṛṇaiḥ kūpam ivāvṛtam*
*MEANING : The woman, created by the Lord, is the representation of māyā, and one who associates with such māyā by accepting services must certainly know that this is the way of death, just like a blind well covered with grass.*
*PURPORT : Sometimes it happens that a rejected well is covered by grass, and an unwary traveler who does not know of the existence of the well falls down, and his death is assured. Similarly, association with a woman begins when one accepts service from her, because woman is especially created by the Lord to give service to man. By accepting her service, a man is entrapped. If he is not intelligent enough to know that she is the gateway to hellish life, he may indulge in her association very liberally. This is restricted for those who aspire to ascend to the transcendental platform. Even fifty years ago in Hindu society, such association was restricted. A wife could not see her husband during the daytime. Householders even had different residential quarters. The internal quarters of a residential house were for the woman, and the external quarters were for the man. Acceptance of service rendered by a woman may appear very pleasing, but one should be very cautious in accepting such service because it is clearly said that woman is the gateway to death, or forgetfulness of one's self. She blocks the path of spiritual realization.*

*భగవాన్ శ్రీ కృష్ణుడు ఒక అతీత వ్యక్తిత్వం కలిగిన మానవుడు. అంటే మొత్తం మానవుల కంటే వేరుగా అలోచించగల వ్యక్తి. అతనిని అసలైన మానవుడిగా చెప్పవచ్చు. అంటే మానవుడి లాగానే ఉంటూ మానవ మేధస్సు యొక్క పరిమితులను దాటి ఆలోచించగల వ్యక్తి. ప్రపంచం యొక్క నిర్మాణం సాధారణ మానవ అవగాహనకు అందే వస్తువు కాదు. ఇదే గీత మూడవ అధ్యాయం యొక్క ఇతివృత్తం. ప్రపంచం మానవ అవగాహన యొక్క ఉపకరణం ద్వారా అర్థం చేసుకోలేని విధంగా రూపొందించబడింది, అందువల్ల ఈ ప్రపంచ రంగంలో మనిషి యొక్క చర్యల నుండి అనుసరించే పరిణామాలపై తీర్పు ఇవ్వడం ఒక ఈ ప్రపంచలో మానవుడికి సాధ్యమయ్యే పని కాదు. కావున అలా ప్రయత్నించడం వల్ల ప్రయోజనం నెరవేరదు.*

*Bhagavan Sri Krishna was there as a super-personal individual, the one who could think in a different way altogether, far different from the way in which all human beings can think. He was a total Man, ‘M' capital, the true ‘son of Man', in biblical words, who could think as all human beings and yet go beyond the ken of human knowledge. The structure of the world is not the object of ordinary human perception. This is the theme of the third chapter of the Gita. The world is made in such a way that it cannot be comprehended by the apparatus of human understanding, and therefore to pass judgment on the consequences that follow from the actions of man in the field of this world would be to go off on a tangent and would not serve the purpose.*
*It would not touch even the border of reality. The nature of the world conditions the effects of human action, as it conditions the effects of any action, for that matter. Every event is inwardly connected to the organic structure of the cosmos; and this structure of the cosmos being the determinant of the rightness or the wrongness of any procedure, a human being who always stands outside the world, regarding the world as an object of the senses, would be a bad judge of the circumstances of life.*
