*ఆత్మదర్శియైన ముని బుద్ధి యొక్క జాగ్రదాది అవస్థల నుండి తనను వేరుగా భావించు కొనును. అతడు పరమాత్మను తప్ప మరి ఏ యితర వస్తువును చూడగూడదు (ఆయన దృష్టిలో పరమాత్మ ఒక్కడే సత్యము. తక్కినవి నశ్వరములు. కావున వాటివైపు తన దృష్టిని పోనీయడు). నేత్రములు సూర్యుని చూచిన విధముగా తన శుద్ధాంతః కరణము ద్వారా పరమాత్మ సాక్షాత్కారముసు పొంది అద్వితీయమైన బ్రహ్మపదమును చేరును.*
*శరీరమునకూ ఇంద్రియములకూ మనసుకూ జ్ఞ్యానం ఉండదు. ప్రకృతి పురుషుల యధార్థ తత్వము తెలిపే జ్ఞ్యానముతో బుద్ధి అవస్థానం (బుద్ధి యొక్క సమూహం - బుద్ధి మనసు చిత్తం అంతఃకరణం) చేసే పని అయిన సంకల్ప వికల్పాలు, నిశ్చయ, విపరీత జ్ఞానాల నుంచి పక్కకు తొలగుతుంది. ఇలా జరగాలంటే ప్రకృతి అంటే ఏమిటో పురుషుడు అంటే ఏమిటొ తెలిస్తే, ప్రకృతితో పురుషుడు సంబంధం ఏర్పరుచు కోవడానికి చేసే వ్యాపారమే, సంకల్పం వికల్ప్లం, భ్రమ అన్యధా జ్ఞానం విపరీత జ్ఞ్యానం. ఇవి మానేసినపుడు, బుద్ధి మనసు యొక్క పనులైన సంకల్ప వికల్పాలను విడిచిపెడతాడు. దాని వలన పరమాత్మ కన్నా ఇతరమైన వాటిని దర్శించడు.*
*భగవంతుని కంటే భిన్నమైన వాటిని చూడకుండా అయ్యి, పరమాత్మ చేత జీవాత్మను తెలుసుకుంటాము. భగవంతుని చేతనే జీవాత్మ స్వరూపం తెలుస్తుంది. బుద్ధి యొక్కా, మనసు యొక్కా, ఆసక్తిని తొలగించాలి, ప్రవృత్తిని తొలగించాలి. మనసు బుద్ధీ వేటి యందు ప్రవర్తిస్తుందో వాటిని వెనక్కు మరల్చాలి. ఇతరములను చూడకూడదు. అప్పుడు జీవునితో పరమాత్మను తెలుసుకోవాలి. పరమాత్మ అనుగ్రహం తోటే ఆత్మ సాక్షాత్కారం కలుగుతుంది. ఆయన సంకల్పము లేకుంటే ఉన్న శాస్త్ర జ్ఞానముతో ఆయుష్షు వ్యయము అవుతుంది తప్ప లాభం ఉండదు.*

*upalabhyātmanātmānaṁ cakṣuṣevārkam ātma-dṛk*
*One should be situated in the transcendental position, beyond the stages of material consciousness, and should be aloof from all other conceptions of life. Thus realizing freedom from false ego, one should see his own self just as he sees the sun in the sky.*
*Consciousness acts in three stages under the material conception of life. When we are awake, consciousness acts in a particular way, when we are asleep it acts in a different way, and when we are in deep sleep, consciousness acts in still another way. To become Kṛṣṇa conscious, one has to become transcendental to these three stages of consciousness. Our present consciousness should be freed from all perceptions of life other than consciousness of Kṛṣṇa, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. This is called dūrī-bhūtānya-darśanaḥ, which means that when one attains perfect Kṛṣṇa consciousness he does not see anything but Kṛṣṇa.*

బ్రహ్మ ఇట్లు పలికెను -
ఓ నారదా! మహేశ్వరుని మనస్సులో ధ్యానించే నీవు ఆ కుమారునితో ఈ వాక్యమును పలికి మౌనమును వహించితివి(22). కోపమనే అగ్నితో మండిపడుచున్న స్కందుడు తండ్రికి నమస్కరించి, తల్లిదండ్రులు వారించిననూ వినక, క్రౌంచపర్వతమునకు వెళ్లెను (23).
'నీవు ఇపుడు ఎట్లు వెళ్లెదవు?' అని వారించి నిషేధించిననూ ఆతడు 'కుదరదు' అని బదులిడి వెళ్లిపోయెను (24). తల్లిదండ్రులారా! నేను ఇచట క్షణకాలమైననూ ఉండరాదు. ఏలయన, మీరు ప్రేమను ప్రక్కన బెట్టి నా యందు కపటమును చేసితిరి (25). ఓ మునీ! ఇట్లు పలికి ఆతడు అచటకు వెళ్లెను. ఇప్పటికినీ అచటనే యున్నాడు. ఆయన దర్శన మాత్రముచే సర్వమానవుల పాపములను పోగొట్టును (26). ఓ దేవర్షీ! ఆ దినమునుండి శివపుత్రుడగు కార్తికేయుని బ్రహ్మ చర్యము స్థిరముగా నుండెను (27).
కార్తికేయుని నామము ముల్లోకములలో ప్రసిద్ధమైనది. ఆ శ్రేష్ఠ పవిత్ర నామము సర్వపాపములను పోగొట్టి బ్రహ్మచర్యమునిచ్చును (28). ప్రతి సంవత్సరములో కార్తీక మాసము నందు దేవతలు, శిష్యులతో గూడి ఋషులు, మరియు మునిశ్రేష్ఠులు కుమారుని దర్శనముకొరకు వెళ్లు చుందురు (29). ఎవడైతే కార్తీక మాసములో కృత్తికానక్షత్రమునాడు కుమారస్వామిని దర్శించునో, వాని పాపములన్నియు భస్మమై, మనస్సులో కోరిన ఫలములు లభించును (30). స్కందుడు దూరమగుటచే దుఃఖమును పొందిన ఉమాదేవి కూడా దీనురాలై శివునితో 'ప్రభూ! నన్ను అచటకు తీసుకొని వెళ్లుడు' అని పలికెను (31). ఆమె సుఖము కొరకు శంభుడు ఆమెతో గూడి స్వయముగా ఆ పర్వతమునకు వెళ్లి మల్లికార్జునుడు అను పేర అచట జ్యోతిర్లింగమై వెలసి జనులకు సుఖములనిచ్చు చున్నాడు (32). ఈనాటికీ శివుడు పార్వతితో గూడి అచట దర్శనమిస్తూ, తన భక్తులందరి కోర్కెలనీడేర్చుచూ సత్పురుషులకు శరణమై ఉన్నాడు(33).

Brahmā said:—
22. O Nārada, following the mental process of lord Śiva, you spoke these words to Kumāra and then kept quiet.
23. After bowing to his father, the infuriated Skanda went to the Krauñca mountain[2] though forbidden by his parents.
24. “Even when forbidden by us why do you go?” Although he was prevented by saying this, he went away saying “No”.
25. “O parents, I shall not stay here even a moment when deception has been practised on me eschewing affection towards me.”
26. O sage, he went away saying so. Even today he is staying there removing the sin of all by his very vision.
27. Ever since that day, O celestial sage, the son of Śiva, Kārttikeya remains a bachelor.
28. His name bestows auspiciousness in the world. It is famous in the three worlds. It dispels all sins, is meritorious and confers the sanctity of celibacy.
29. In the month of Kārttika, the gods, the holy sages and great ascetics go there to see Kumāra.
30. He who has the vision of the lord in the Kṛttikā Nakṣatra in the month of Kārttika is divested of all sins. He derives all desired fruits.
31. Pārvatī became grief-stricken by separation from Skanda. She piteously told her lord. “O lord, let us go there.”
32. Śiva went to that mountain partially for her happiness. He assumed the pleasing form of Jyotirliṅga named Mallikārjuna.[3]
33. Even now Śiva is seen there with Pārvatī satisfying the desires of his devotees. He is the goal of the good.

*శ్రీమాత మహిమను కొలతలు వేయుటకు పూనుకొనిన త్రిమూర్తులు ఆమె మహిమను తెలియుటలో భయమును చెందిరి. తమ తమ స్థానములకు పరిమితులై కర్తవ్యోన్ముఖులైరి. జీవులు శ్రీమాత స్వరూపులే గనుక వారు కూడ వారి దేహ పరిమాణమునకు లొంగి యుండవలసిన అవసరము లేదు. జీవుని దేహము సృష్టివంటిది. అందు జీవుడు దైవాంశ. అతడు కూడ నిజమునకు దేహపరిమితులను దాటి యుండవచ్చును.*
*అతడి మహిమ కూడ దూర తీరములకు వ్యాపించ వచ్చును. శ్రీమాత భక్తులగు మహాత్ములట్లే యుందురు. బ్రహ్మర్షులు, మహర్షులు, రాజర్షులు వారి యోగ తపో బలములచే తీరముల నతిక్రమించి మహిమ చూపుచుండుట తెలిసిన విషయమే. ఇట్లు జీవులందరును కూడ నిజమునకు పరిమితులు లేనివారే. ఉన్నదని భావించుటచే అట్లు ఇమిడి యుందురు. వారి యందు జ్ఞానము వికసించు చుండగా వ్యాప్తి చెందుచు నుందురు.*
