*తాత్పర్యము : మైత్రేయుడు నుడివెను - కురుశ్రేష్ఠుడైన విదురా! కపిల భగవానుడు తన తల్లి పలికిన లోకమునకు హితమును గూర్చెడి మధురవచనములను విని, ఆమెను మిగుల అభినందించెను. పిదప, సకలజీవులయెడ దయార్ద్రహృదయుడై అతడు ప్రసన్నచిత్తుడై ఆమెతో ఇట్లు వచించెను.*

*MEANING : Śrī Maitreya said: O best amongst the Kurus, the great sage Kapila, moved by great compassion and pleased by the words of His glorious mother, spoke as follows.*
*PURPORT : Lord Kapila was very satisfied by the request of His glorious mother because she was thinking not only in terms of her personal salvation but in terms of all the fallen conditioned souls. The Lord is always compassionate towards the fallen souls of this material world, and therefore He comes Himself or sends His confidential servants to deliver them. Since He is perpetually compassionate towards them, if some of His devotees also become compassionate towards them, He is very pleased with the devotees. In Bhagavad-gītā it is clearly stated that persons who are trying to elevate the condition of the fallen souls by preaching the conclusion of Bhagavad-gītā—namely, full surrender unto the Personality of Godhead—are very dear to Him. Thus when the Lord saw that His beloved mother was very compassionate towards the fallen souls, He was pleased, and He also became compassionate towards her.*

లోకనాధా ! దేవాధీశా! మాకు భయము వచ్చి పడినది. ఈ అద్భుతమగు శబ్దము పుట్టుచున్నది. ఓ మహాయోగి! దానిని నశింపజేయుము (11).
సనత్కుమారుడిట్లు పలికెను -
లోకములకు పితామహుడగు బ్రహ్మ వారి ఈ మాటను విని 'ఇది ఏమి?' అని విస్మయమును పొంది అచటకు వెళ్లవలెనని తలంచెను (12). వత్సా! అపుడు బ్రహ్మ ఆ శబ్దమును గురించి తెలియ గోరి దేవతలతో సహా నిత్యలోకమునుండి భూమి పైకి దిగి సముద్రమువద్దకు వెళ్లెను (13). సర్వలోకములకు పితామహుడగు ఆ బ్రహ్మ అచటకు వచ్చుట తోడనే సముద్రుని ఒడిలో ఆ బాలకుని చూచెను (14). దేవతారూపమును ధరించియున్న సముద్రుడు అచటకు విచ్చేసిన బ్రహ్మను గాంచి శిరస్సుతో ప్రణమిల్లి ఆ బాలకుని ఆయన ఒడిలో కూర్చుండ బెట్టెను (15). అపుడు ఆశ్చర్యమును పొందియున్న బ్రహ్మ సముద్రునితో నిట్లనెను. ఓయీ సముద్రా! వెంటనే చెప్పుము. ఈ ఆద్భుత బాలకుడు ఎవని కుమారుడు? అపుడు సముద్రుడు బ్రహ్మయొక్క మాటను విని సంతసిల్లి, చేతులు జోడించి నమస్కరించి కొనియాడి ఆ ప్రజానాథునితో నిట్లనెను (17).
సముద్రుడిట్లు పలికెను -
ఓ బ్రహ్మా! నాకు తెలియకుండగనే నాకు ఈ బాలుడు దొరికినాడు. సర్వ లోకములను పాలించువాడా! ఈతడు అకస్మాత్తుగా గంగాసాగరసంగమమునుండి పుట్టినాడు (18). ఓ జగద్గురూ! ఈతనికి జాతకర్మ మొదలగు సంస్కారములను చేయించుము. ఓ విధాతా! వీని జాతకములో కనబడే భవిష్యత్ఫలము నంతనూ వివరించ తగుదువు (19).

13. Then Brahmā descended from Satyaloka to the Earth along with the gods. Then he went to the ocean desirous of knowing what it was.
14. When Brahmā the grandfather of the worlds came there, he saw the boy in the lap of the ocean.
15. On seeing Brahmā coming, the ocean assuming the form of a god bowed to him and placed the boy in his lap.
16. Then the surprised Brahmā spoke these words to the ocean—“O ocean, tell me quickly about the parentage of this boy.”

17. On hearing the words of Brahmā, the ocean was delighted. After bowing to and eulogising him with palms joined in reverence he replied to Prajāpati Brahmā.
