The head is illuminated by the light of the Bhargo Deva realm. The Mūlādhāra (root chakra) shines with the light of the earthly realm. According to Jyotirvidya (the science of divine light), these correspond sequentially to the luminosities of Aries (Meṣa), Leo (Siṃha), and Sagittarius (Dhanuṣ). The head and forehead radiate the light of Aries, which is electric in nature. The heart radiates the light of Leo, which is solar. The Mūlādhāra is filled with the light of Sagittarius, which manifests as the fiery radiance within matter. In the Lalitā Sahasranāma, the descent of these lights across the four levels is described.
