Lord Shri Mahaganapati is the embodiment of the Supreme Absolute (Parabrahman), the remover of all obstacles (Vighneshwara), and the bestower of wisdom, intelligence, discernment, prosperity, spiritual accomplishments, and auspicious blessings. He is not merely the Lord of the Ganas; He is the very symbol of the divine consciousness that sustains the creation, preservation, and dissolution of the entire universe. Wherever His grace shines, ignorance is dispelled, the light of wisdom dawns, fear transforms into courage, and every obstacle gives way to success.

1. Embodiment of Cosmic Consciousness

Lord Ganesha is the manifestation of infinite cosmic consciousness. The divine energy that pervades the entire universe eternally radiates through Him. He is the foundation of the physical, spiritual, and celestial realms.


2. Remover of All Obstacles

Lord Ganesha removes every obstacle, hardship, failure, misfortune, and negative influence from the lives of His devotees, guiding them toward the path of auspiciousness and success. That is why He is worshipped first before the commencement of every sacred undertaking.

శ్రీ గణేశుడు అనంతమైన బ్రహ్మాండ చైతన్యానికి ప్రతిరూపం. సమస్త సృష్టిలో వ్యాపించిన దివ్యశక్తి ఆయనలోనే నిత్యంగా ప్రకాశిస్తుంది. భౌతిక, ఆధ్యాత్మిక, దైవిక లోకాలన్నింటికీ ఆయనే ఆధారం.


2. విఘ్నాలను తొలగించే విఘ్నేశ్వరుడు

జీవితంలో ఎదురయ్యే ప్రతి అడ్డంకి, సంకటం, అపజయం, దురదృష్టం, ప్రతికూలతను తొలగించి శుభమార్గాన్ని ప్రసాదించేవాడు శ్రీ గణపతి. అందుకే ప్రతి శుభకార్యానికి ముందు ఆయనను మొదటగా పూజిస్తారు.

The Balkampet Yellamma Talli Rathotsavam in Telangana is far more than just a temple festival. It is a magnificent celebration that brings together centuries of history, mythology, village deity worship, Telangana's rich folk traditions, and deep devotional practices. Celebrated every year during the Bonalu festival, this grand Rathotsavam has a unique historical background as well as a fascinating mythological story associated with the incarnation of Goddess Yellamma.

The Balkampet Yellamma Talli Temple is believed to date back to the 15th century. According to local tradition, while digging a well in the area, a self-manifested stone idol of the Goddess was discovered about ten feet beneath the ground. Several attempts were made to move the idol, but all proved unsuccessful. This was regarded as the divine will of the Goddess, and a temple was constructed at the very spot where the idol was found. Even today, the Goddess resides below ground level amidst natural underground springs. For this reason, devotees also worship Her as "Jaladurgā" (The Goddess of Sacred Waters). It is widely believed that the holy water within the temple possesses medicinal properties and can cure various ailments, including skin diseases.

The most famous mythological legend associated with Yellamma Talli is linked to Goddess Renuka Devi, the wife of Sage Jamadagni and the mother of Lord Parashurama. According to the legend, Sage Jamadagni, in a moment of anger, ordered his sons to behead their mother. While the other sons refused, Lord Parashurama obeyed his father's command and beheaded Renuka Devi. Later, pleased with his obedience, Jamadagni offered him a boon.

Parashurama requested that his mother be restored to life. According to the traditional narrative, Renuka Devi's head was mistakenly placed on another woman's body, resulting in the manifestation of a unique divine form. This divine Mother came to be worshipped as "Yellamma." Hence, devotees lovingly revere Her as "The Mother of All," "Jagadamba," and "Renuka Yellamma."

Historical traditions also suggest that the Balkampet region was an important village long before the rule of the Nizams in Hyderabad. During the Nizam period, the temple received royal patronage and underwent significant renovation around 1919. Since then, it has become one of the oldest and most revered Shakti Peethas in Hyderabad.

Among all the festivals dedicated to Yellamma Talli, the Rathotsavam, held after the annual celestial wedding (Kalyanotsavam), is the most magnificent. Spiritually, the chariot procession symbolizes the Goddess emerging from the sanctum to personally bless Her devotees. Beautifully decorated with flowers, festoons, and colorful lights, the divine chariot carries the Goddess through the streets surrounding the temple. Thousands of devotees enthusiastically pull the chariot while chanting "Jai Yellamma Talli," filling the atmosphere with devotion and spiritual fervor.

Yellamma Talli also occupies a special place in the Bonalu tradition of Telangana. Following the Golconda Bonalu celebrations, the Balkampet Bonalu, Yellamma Talli Kalyanam, and Rathotsavam are celebrated with great grandeur and attract devotees from across the state. Women offer Bonam to the Goddess, while the energetic performances of Pothuraju, the rhythmic beats of traditional drums, and vibrant folk dances add immense cultural splendor to the celebrations.

Devotees firmly believe that pulling the sacred chariot removes sins and brings divine blessings in the form of health, prosperity, children, peace, and happiness. After the fulfillment of their vows, many devotees express their gratitude by offering Bonam, conducting special pujas, and organizing Annadanam (free community meals), a tradition that has continued for generations.

Thus, the Balkampet Yellamma Talli Rathotsavam is not merely a ceremonial procession. It is a divine festival that reflects nearly seven centuries of history, the sacred legend of Renuka-Yellamma, the enduring tradition of Telangana's village deity worship, the unwavering faith of millions of devotees, and the spirit of social harmony. Every year, it attracts lakhs of pilgrims and continues to preserve and celebrate Telangana's rich spiritual heritage.

May this sacred festival, which beautifully reflects the soul of Telangana, continue to inspire future generations with its timeless message of devotion, culture, and unity.

తెలంగాణలోని బల్కంపేట ఎల్లమ్మ తల్లి రథోత్సవం కేవలం ఒక ఆలయ ఉత్సవం మాత్రమే కాదు. ఇది శతాబ్దాల చరిత్ర, పురాణ గాథ, గ్రామదేవత ఆరాధన, తెలంగాణ జానపద సంస్కృతి, భక్తి సంప్రదాయాల సమ్మేళనంగా నిలిచిన మహోత్సవం. ప్రతి సంవత్సరం బోనాల పర్వదినాలలో జరిగే ఈ రథోత్సవం వెనుక ఒక విశిష్టమైన చారిత్రక నేపథ్యం, అలాగే పురాణాల్లో చెప్పబడిన ఎల్లమ్మ తల్లి అవతార కథ ఉంది.

బల్కంపేట ఎల్లమ్మ తల్లి ఆలయం సుమారు 15వ శతాబ్దానికి చెందినదిగా విశ్వసించబడుతోంది. స్థానిక కథనం ప్రకారం, ఆ ప్రాంతంలో ఒక బావిని తవ్వుతున్న సమయంలో భూమికి దాదాపు పది అడుగుల లోతులో స్వయంభువుగా వెలసిన అమ్మవారి శిలారూపం కనిపించింది. ఆ విగ్రహాన్ని అక్కడి నుంచి కదిలించేందుకు చేసిన ప్రయత్నాలు విఫలమయ్యాయి. దానిని దైవ సంకల్పంగా భావించి, విగ్రహం ఉన్న అదే ప్రదేశంలో ఆలయాన్ని నిర్మించారు. ఈ కారణంగానే నేటికీ అమ్మవారు భూమి మట్టానికి దిగువన, సహజ జలధారల మధ్య కొలువై ఉంటారు. అందువల్ల ఆమెను "జలదుర్గ" అని కూడా భక్తులు ఆరాధిస్తారు. ఆలయంలోని పవిత్ర జలానికి ఔషధ గుణాలు ఉన్నాయని, చర్మవ్యాధులు సహా అనేక రోగాలు తొలగుతాయని భక్తుల విశ్వాసం.

ఎల్లమ్మ తల్లి గురించి ప్రసిద్ధమైన పురాణ గాథ రేణుకాదేవితో ముడిపడి ఉంది. మహర్షి జమదగ్ని భార్య రేణుకాదేవి, పరశురాముని తల్లి. ఒక సందర్భంలో జమదగ్ని ఆగ్రహంతో తన కుమారులను తల్లిని సంహరించమని ఆజ్ఞాపించాడు. అందరూ తిరస్కరించగా, పరశురాముడు తండ్రి ఆజ్ఞను పాటించి రేణుకాదేవిని శిరచ్ఛేదం చేశాడు. అనంతరం జమదగ్ని ప్రసన్నుడై వరం కోరమన్నప్పుడు, పరశురాముడు తన తల్లిని తిరిగి బ్రతికించాలని కోరాడు. కథనం ప్రకారం, రేణుకాదేవి తలను పొరపాటున మరో స్త్రీ శరీరానికి అమర్చడం వల్ల ఒక ప్రత్యేక దైవస్వరూపం అవతరించింది. ఆ జగజ్జనని రూపమే కాలక్రమేణా "ఎల్లమ్మ"గా ప్రజల ఆరాధన పొందిందని విశ్వసిస్తారు. అందుకే ఎల్లమ్మ తల్లిని "అందరికీ తల్లి", "జగదాంబ", "రేణుకా ఎల్లమ్మ" అని భక్తులు పిలుస్తారు.

హైదరాబాద్ ప్రాంత చరిత్రలో బల్కంపేట ప్రాంతం నిజాం పాలనకు ముందే ప్రముఖ గ్రామంగా ఉండేదని స్థానిక సంప్రదాయాలు చెబుతున్నాయి. తరువాత నిజాం కాలంలో ఆలయానికి అభివృద్ధి కలిగి, 1919 ప్రాంతంలో ఆలయ నిర్మాణం పునర్నిర్మించబడింది. అప్పటి నుండి ఈ ఆలయం హైదరాబాద్‌లోని అత్యంత ప్రాచీన శక్తి పీఠాలలో ఒకటిగా ఎదిగింది.

ఎల్లమ్మ తల్లి ఉత్సవాలలో అత్యంత వైభవంగా జరిగేది వార్షిక కళ్యాణోత్సవం అనంతరం నిర్వహించే రథోత్సవం. ఈ రథయాత్రకు ఒక ప్రత్యేకమైన ఆధ్యాత్మిక భావన ఉంది. ఆలయంలోని గర్భగృహంలో కొలువైన అమ్మవారు స్వయంగా తన భక్తులను ఆశీర్వదించేందుకు బయటకు విచ్చేస్తున్నారనే భావంతో ఈ రథోత్సవాన్ని నిర్వహిస్తారు. పుష్పాలు, తోరణాలు, దీపాలతో అలంకరించిన రథంలో అమ్మవారిని ప్రతిష్ఠించి ఆలయ పరిసర వీధుల్లో ఊరేగిస్తారు. వేలాది మంది భక్తులు రథాన్ని లాగుతూ "జై ఎల్లమ్మ తల్లి" నినాదాలతో భక్తి పారవశ్యంలో పాల్గొంటారు.

తెలంగాణ బోనాల సంప్రదాయంలో కూడా బల్కంపేట ఎల్లమ్మ తల్లికి ప్రత్యేక స్థానం ఉంది. గోల్కొండ బోనాల అనంతరం జరిగే బల్కంపేట బోనాలు, ఎల్లమ్మ తల్లి కళ్యాణం, రథోత్సవం రాష్ట్రవ్యాప్తంగా ప్రసిద్ధి చెందాయి. మహిళలు బోనం సమర్పించడం, పోతురాజుల విన్యాసాలు, డప్పుల నాదం, జానపద కళారూపాలు ఈ ఉత్సవానికి ప్రత్యేక శోభను తెస్తాయి.

రథాన్ని లాగడం వల్ల పాపక్షయం కలుగుతుందని, కుటుంబంలో ఆరోగ్యం, ఐశ్వర్యం, సంతానం, శాంతి లభిస్తాయని భక్తులు విశ్వసిస్తారు. తమ మొక్కులు నెరవేరిన తరువాత అనేక మంది భక్తులు అన్నదానం చేయడం, బోనాలు సమర్పించడం, ప్రత్యేక పూజలు నిర్వహించడం ఆనవాయితీగా కొనసాగిస్తున్నారు.

ఈ విధంగా బల్కంపేట ఎల్లమ్మ తల్లి రథోత్సవం ఒక సాధారణ ఊరేగింపు కాదు. ఇది సుమారు ఏడు శతాబ్దాల చరిత్రను, రేణుకా-ఎల్లమ్మ పురాణాన్ని, తెలంగాణ గ్రామదేవత ఆరాధనను, ప్రజల అచంచల భక్తిని, సామాజిక ఐక్యతను ప్రతిబింబించే దివ్య మహోత్సవం. ప్రతి సంవత్సరం లక్షలాది మంది భక్తులను ఆకర్షిస్తూ, తెలంగాణ ఆధ్యాత్మిక వారసత్వాన్ని నేటికీ సజీవంగా నిలబెడుతోంది.

తెలంగాణ ఆత్మను ప్రతిబింబించే ఈ దివ్య ఉత్సవం భవిష్యత్ తరాలకు కూడా స్ఫూర్తిదాయకంగా నిలవాలని ప్రతి భక్తుడు మనస్ఫూర్తిగా కోరుకుంటాడు.

Amavasya (the New Moon day) holds a place of great importance in Hindu Dharma. Among all Amavasyas, Darsha Amavasya occurring during the sacred month of Ashadha is regarded as especially auspicious from Vedic, Puranic, and spiritual perspectives. This holy day is observed with three distinct significances—Darsha Amavasya, Ashadha Amavasya, and Anvadhaan. According to the scriptures, the convergence of these three sacred observances makes this day particularly ideal for honoring one's ancestors, preserving Vedic sacrificial traditions, and engaging in deep spiritual introspection.

The name Darsha Amavasya has been known since the Vedic age. It derives from the Darsha Yajna, a sacred Vedic ritual traditionally performed by priests on every New Moon day. The Darsha–Purnamasa Yajnas, mentioned in the Vedas, are considered among the essential daily Vedic duties of a householder. The Dharma Shastras declare that worshipping the Divine, meditating, and performing acts of charity on this day yield manifold spiritual merits.

Since this New Moon falls in the month of Ashadha, it is also known as Ashadha Amavasya. Occurring soon after the beginning of Dakshinayana (the Sun's southward journey), it marks the commencement of a period favorable for inward reflection and spiritual growth. Just as nature is rejuvenated with the arrival of the monsoon, this sacred day reminds us to purify our minds and renew our commitment to righteousness. Across many regions, devotees observe this occasion through holy baths, temple visits, tree planting, charitable acts, and the distribution of food to those in need.

Another important aspect of Ashadha Amavasya is the worship of one's ancestors (Pitru Aradhana). The scriptures describe Amavasya as the most beloved lunar day for the Pitru Devatas (departed ancestors). Performing Tarpana (water oblations), Pinda Pradana (ritual offerings), feeding Brahmins, and engaging in charitable deeds are believed to invoke the blessings of the ancestors. Expressing gratitude toward our forefathers and seeking their blessings has always been regarded as one of the highest virtues in Indian culture.

A unique Vedic observance associated with this day is Anvadhaan. In the Vedic sacrificial tradition, Anvadhaan refers to the sacred act of rekindling the sacrificial fire or offering fresh sacred fuel (Samidhas) into the fire in preparation for the continuation of Vedic rituals. Beyond its ritual significance, it symbolizes keeping the fires of Dharma, wisdom, and devotion ever burning within our hearts. For this reason, Anvadhaan is revered as a highly sacred practice in the Vedic tradition.

On Darsha Amavasya, it is considered highly auspicious to begin the day with a sacred bath and worship Lord Maha Vishnu, Lord Shiva, Surya Narayana, and Lord Ganesha with sincere devotion. Offering sesame-water Tarpana to the ancestors, performing Annadana (food donation), donating clothes, cows where appropriate, or contributing according to one's means are praised in the scriptures as acts of immense merit. Observing a fast, chanting the Vishnu Sahasranama, the Panchakshari Mantra ("Om Namah Shivaya"), or the Gayatri Mantra further enhances one's spiritual well-being.

Darsha Amavasya also conveys a profound message for life. On the night when the Moon disappears from the sky, we are reminded to dispel the darkness of ego, ignorance, and negative tendencies from within ourselves, allowing the light of wisdom, humility, and gratitude to shine forth. Remembering our ancestors reconnects us with our roots; preserving the spirit of the Vedic Yajnas sustains Dharma; and worshipping the Divine purifies the soul. This is the true spiritual essence of this sacred day.

On this holy occasion of Darsha Amavasya, Ashadha Amavasya, and Anvadhaan, let us remember our ancestors with reverence, worship the Divine with devotion, perform acts of charity, and walk steadfastly on the path of Dharma. May the blessings of the Pitru Devatas, the grace of the Divine, and the sacred merits of the Vedic traditions bestow peace, good health, prosperity, and spiritual progress upon all.

హిందూ ధర్మంలో అమావాస్య తిథికి అత్యంత విశిష్టమైన స్థానం ఉంది. ముఖ్యంగా ఆషాఢ మాసంలోని దర్శ అమావాస్య వైదిక, పౌరాణిక, ఆధ్యాత్మిక దృష్ట్యా అత్యంత పవిత్రమైనదిగా భావించబడుతుంది. ఈ రోజును దర్శ అమావాస్య, ఆషాఢ అమావాస్య, అలాగే అన్వాధాన్ అనే మూడు విశిష్టతలతో ఆచరిస్తారు. ఈ మూడు అంశాలు కలిసివచ్చే ఈ పుణ్యదినం పితృదేవతల ఆరాధనకు, యజ్ఞ సంప్రదాయాలకు, ఆత్మపరిశీలనకు అత్యంత శ్రేష్ఠమైన సందర్భంగా శాస్త్రాలు పేర్కొంటాయి.

దర్శ అమావాస్య అనే పేరు వేదకాలం నుంచే ప్రసిద్ధి చెందింది. ప్రతి అమావాస్య రోజున ఋత్వికులు నిర్వహించే దర్శ యజ్ఞం కారణంగా ఈ తిథికి "దర్శ అమావాస్య" అనే పేరు వచ్చింది. వేదాలలో పేర్కొన్న దర్శ–పూర్ణమాస యాగాలు గృహస్థుడి నిత్య వైదిక కర్మలలో ముఖ్యమైనవిగా పరిగణించబడతాయి. ఈ రోజు భగవంతుని ఆరాధించడం, ధ్యానం చేయడం, దానం చేయడం ద్వారా అనేక రెట్లు పుణ్యఫలం లభిస్తుందని ధర్మశాస్త్రాలు చెబుతున్నాయి.

ఈ అమావాస్య ఆషాఢ మాసంలో రావడం వల్ల దీనిని ఆషాఢ అమావాస్య అని కూడా పిలుస్తారు. దక్షిణాయనం ప్రారంభమైన అనంతరం వచ్చే ఈ అమావాస్య మనిషి జీవితంలో అంతర్ముఖతను, ఆధ్యాత్మిక చింతనను పెంపొందించే కాలానికి నాంది పలుకుతుంది. వర్షాకాల ప్రారంభంలో ప్రకృతి పునరుజ్జీవనం పొందినట్లే, మన మనస్సును కూడా శుద్ధి చేసుకొని ధర్మమార్గంలో ముందుకు సాగాలని ఈ తిథి సందేశం ఇస్తుంది. అనేక ప్రాంతాల్లో ఈ రోజున పవిత్ర స్నానాలు, దేవాలయ దర్శనాలు, వృక్షారోపణ, అన్నదానాలు వంటి పుణ్యకార్యాలు నిర్వహిస్తారు.

ఆషాఢ అమావాస్యకు మరో ముఖ్యమైన విశేషం పితృఆరాధన. అమావాస్య తిథి పితృదేవతలకు అత్యంత ప్రీతికరమైనదిగా శాస్త్రాలు పేర్కొన్నాయి. ఈ రోజున తర్పణాలు, పిండప్రదానాలు, బ్రాహ్మణ భోజనాలు, దానధర్మాలు చేయడం ద్వారా పితృదేవతల అనుగ్రహం లభిస్తుందని విశ్వసిస్తారు. పూర్వీకులను కృతజ్ఞతతో స్మరించడం, వారి ఆశీస్సులు కోరుకోవడం భారతీయ సంస్కృతిలో అత్యున్నత ధర్మాలలో ఒకటిగా భావించబడింది.

In Sanatana Dharma, every Ekadashi holds a unique spiritual significance. Among them, Yogini Ekadashi is described in the Puranas as one of the most sacred observances, capable of destroying accumulated sins. The word "Yogini" signifies a state of union with the Divine Consciousness. Therefore, this Ekadashi is not merely a day of fasting; it is a sacred opportunity to guide a person from worldly bondage toward the path of spiritual realization.

Observed during the Krishna Paksha (waning phase) of the lunar month of Jyeshtha, Yogini Ekadashi occupies a special place in Sanatana Dharma due to its profound religious and spiritual importance. This year, devotees across the country will observe this holy vrata with great faith and devotion on July 10.

According to the Padma Purana, Lord Krishna explained the glory of Yogini Ekadashi to Dharmaraja (Yudhishthira). Hemamali, a servant of Kubera, neglected his sacred duties and was cursed, causing him to suffer from a terrible disease. Later, upon the guidance of the great sage Markandeya, he observed the Yogini Ekadashi fast with sincere devotion. As a result, he was freed from his sins, relieved of his suffering, and restored to his divine position. This story teaches that no matter how great one's mistakes may be, sincere repentance, devotion, and righteous conduct can transform one's life.

The true essence of Yogini Ekadashi is not simply abstaining from food but purifying the mind. Fasting helps control the senses, while chanting the Divine Name, meditation, prayer, and the study of sacred scriptures bring inner peace. The real practice of this vrata is to examine and consciously let go of negative qualities such as anger, jealousy, greed, and ego that reside within us.

On this auspicious day, devotees primarily worship Lord Maha Vishnu with deep devotion. Offering Tulsi leaves, chanting the mantras "Om Namo Narayanaya" or "Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya," and reciting the Vishnu Sahasranama are considered highly meritorious. Observing a complete or partial fast, consuming only sattvic food when necessary, performing acts of charity, and helping those in need further enhance the spiritual benefits of this sacred observance.

From a spiritual perspective, Yogini Ekadashi conveys a profound message. Every individual experiences the consequences of past karma. However, through devotion, sincere repentance, righteous living, and self-reflection, one can gradually overcome these karmic bonds. For this reason, the sages have described Yogini Ekadashi as "the gateway to inner purification."

Even in modern life, Yogini Ekadashi remains deeply relevant. Amidst the stress, anxiety, endless desires, and competition of daily life, dedicating even one day to remembering God, stepping away from mobile phones and worldly distractions, embracing silence, and practicing self-reflection can rejuvenate the inner self. This Ekadashi reminds us that true yoga is not about conquering the external world but about mastering the restlessness within.

Yogini Ekadashi offers not only the grace of the Divine but also an opportunity to transform our lives. If we cultivate the five virtues of devotion, humility, forgiveness, selfless service, and righteousness, every day can become as sacred as Yogini Ekadashi. Fasting purifies the body, while remembrance of God purifies the soul. When these two unite, a person truly begins to walk the path of a genuine yogi.

The eternal message of Yogini Ekadashi is: "True yoga is self-reflection enriched by devotion; remembrance of the Divine is the supreme medicine that sanctifies life."

సనాతన ధర్మంలో ప్రతి ఏకాదశికి ఒక ప్రత్యేకమైన ఆధ్యాత్మిక ప్రాముఖ్యత ఉంది. వాటిలో యోగిని ఏకాదశి అత్యంత పవిత్రమైన మరియు పాపాలను నిర్మూలించే ఏకాదశిగా పురాణాలు వర్ణిస్తున్నాయి. పద్మ పురాణం ప్రకారం, ఈ ఏకాదశి మహిమను శ్రీకృష్ణుడు ధర్మరాజుకు వివరించాడు. కుబేరుని సేవకుడైన హేమమాలి తన కర్తవ్యాన్ని నిర్లక్ష్యం చేసిన కారణంగా శాపగ్రస్తుడై భయంకరమైన వ్యాధితో బాధపడతాడు. తరువాత మహర్షి మార్కండేయుని ఉపదేశంతో యోగిని ఏకాదశి వ్రతాన్ని ఆచరించి, తన పాపాల నుండి విముక్తి పొంది తిరిగి దివ్యస్థితిని పొందుతాడు. ఈ కథ ద్వారా తప్పులు చేసిన వారికీ పశ్చాత్తాపం, భక్తి, ఆచరణ ద్వారా జీవితాన్ని మార్చుకునే అవకాశం ఎల్లప్పుడూ ఉంటుందని ధర్మం బోధిస్తుంది.

యోగిని ఏకాదశి యొక్క అసలు పరమార్థం శరీరానికి ఆహారం ఇవ్వకుండా ఉండటం కాదు; మనస్సుకు శుద్ధిని కలిగించడం. ఉపవాసం వల్ల ఇంద్రియాలు నియంత్రణలోకి వస్తాయి. భగవన్నామ స్మరణ, ధ్యానం, జపం, పవిత్ర గ్రంథాల పఠనం ద్వారా మనసు ప్రశాంతమవుతుంది. మనలో దాగి ఉన్న కోపం, అసూయ, లోభం, అహంకారం వంటి దోషాలను పరిశీలించి వాటిని విడిచిపెట్టే సంకల్పం చేయడమే ఈ వ్రతం యొక్క నిజమైన సాధన.

ఈ రోజున ముఖ్యంగా శ్రీమహావిష్ణువును భక్తితో ఆరాధిస్తారు. తులసీదళాలతో పూజ చేయడం, "ఓం నమో నారాయణాయ" లేదా "ఓం నమో భగవతే వాసుదేవాయ" మంత్రాలను జపించడం, విష్ణు సహస్రనామ పారాయణం చేయడం అత్యంత శుభప్రదంగా భావిస్తారు. సాధ్యమైనంత వరకు సాత్వికాహారం తీసుకోవడం లేదా సంపూర్ణ ఉపవాసం చేయడం, దానధర్మాలు చేయడం, అవసరమైన వారికి సహాయం చేయడం వ్రతానికి మరింత పుణ్యఫలాన్ని అందిస్తాయి.

ఆధ్యాత్మిక దృష్టిలో యోగిని ఏకాదశి మనిషికి ఒక గొప్ప సందేశాన్ని ఇస్తుంది. ప్రతి మనిషి తన గత కర్మల ప్రభావాన్ని అనుభవిస్తూనే ఉంటాడు. అయితే భక్తి, పశ్చాత్తాపం, ధర్మాచరణ, ఆత్మపరిశీలన ద్వారా ఆ కర్మబంధాలను క్రమంగా అధిగమించవచ్చు. అందుకే ఈ ఏకాదశిని "అంతరంగ శుద్ధికి ద్వారం" అని మహర్షులు పేర్కొన్నారు.

ఆధునిక జీవితంలో కూడా యోగిని ఏకాదశి ఎంతో ప్రాసంగికమైనది. నిత్యం ఒత్తిడి, ఆందోళన, కోరికలు, పోటీతో నిండిన జీవితంలో ఒక రోజు మనసును భగవంతునిపై కేంద్రీకరించడం, మొబైల్ మరియు ఇతర వ్యాపకాల నుండి కొంత విరామం తీసుకోవడం, మౌనాన్ని అలవర్చుకోవడం, ఆత్మపరిశీలన చేయడం మన అంతరంగానికి కొత్త శక్తిని అందిస్తుంది. నిజమైన యోగం బయట ప్రపంచాన్ని జయించడం కాదు; మనలోని చంచలత్వాన్ని జయించడమే అని ఈ ఏకాదశి గుర్తుచేస్తుంది.

యోగిని ఏకాదశి మనకు భగవంతుని కృపను మాత్రమే కాదు, మన జీవితాన్ని సరిదిద్దుకునే అవకాశాన్ని కూడా అందిస్తుంది. భక్తి, వినయం, క్షమ, సేవాభావం, ధర్మనిష్ఠ అనే ఐదు గుణాలను జీవితంలో ఆచరిస్తే ప్రతి రోజు యోగిని ఏకాదశిలాగే పవిత్రమవుతుంది. ఉపవాసం శరీరాన్ని పవిత్రం చేస్తే, దైవస్మరణ ఆత్మను పవిత్రం చేస్తుంది. ఈ రెండూ కలిసినప్పుడే మనిషి నిజమైన యోగి మార్గంలో అడుగులు వేస్తాడు.

In the timeless tradition of Sanatana Dharma, Grama Devatalu (Village Deities) hold a place of immense spiritual significance. Particularly in the Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the tradition of every village having its own presiding deity has been followed for centuries. These divine mother goddesses are revered as the guardians of the village, protectors of its people, bestowers of agricultural prosperity, and defenders against diseases, natural calamities, and negative forces. The worship of Grama Devatalu is not merely a religious ritual; it is a living symbol of village culture, tradition, unity, and collective faith.

According to the Puranas, Adi Shakti, the Supreme Divine Mother, manifests in countless forms to protect and sustain the universe. It is believed that this same Supreme Goddess assumes different names and forms according to the needs of each village and its people. In many traditional beliefs, individuals who dedicated their lives selflessly to the welfare and protection of their communities were blessed with a divine aspect of Adi Shakti and became the village deities after their earthly lives. Thus, one village worships Poleramma, another Gangamma, while others revere Peddamma, Maisamma, Yellamma, Nookalamma, Paiditalli, Pochamma, Mutyalamma, Ankalamma, Mariamma, Kanaka Durgamma, and many other local manifestations. Though their names and forms differ, the divine source behind them remains the same - the Supreme Mother, Adi Parashakti.

The shrines of Grama Devatalu are generally located at the entrance of the village, near lakes and ponds, beside agricultural fields, or beneath ancient sacred trees. This placement carries profound spiritual meaning. It symbolizes the belief that the Goddess stands guard at the boundaries of the village, protecting it from negative energies and unseen dangers. Even today, in many villages, no auspicious event begins without first seeking the blessings of the village deity.

The annual festivals dedicated to Grama Devatalu are celebrated with great devotion and grandeur throughout the Telugu states. During these vibrant festivals, the entire village comes together as one family. Processions, palanquin ceremonies, special rituals, community feasts, devotional offerings, traditional dances, folk performances, and cultural celebrations become the highlights of these sacred occasions. People who have migrated to cities or even settled abroad often return to their native villages specifically to participate in these festivals. These celebrations strengthen not only spiritual devotion but also family bonds, cultural identity, and community harmony.

The worship of village deities also reflects the inseparable relationship between humanity and nature. Trees, anthills, rivers, ponds, fertile lands, crops, and cattle are all regarded as sacred gifts of the Divine Mother. Through this tradition, values such as respecting nature, honoring Mother Earth, protecting all living beings, and living in harmony with the environment have been passed down through generations. For this reason, the tradition of Grama Devatalu also carries an enduring message of environmental conservation and ecological balance.

From a spiritual perspective, the village deity removes fear, uncertainty, and helplessness from the hearts of devotees, replacing them with courage, faith, and a deep sense of divine protection. Sincere prayers offered to the Goddess bring inner peace and emotional strength. Every Grama Devata is regarded not only as the protector of a geographical region but also as a compassionate Divine Mother who embraces the emotions, hopes, aspirations, and way of life of the people living there.

Many renowned Grama Devatalu of the Telugu states have today evolved into major pilgrimage centers. Paiditalli Ammavaru of Vizianagaram, Nookalamma Ammavaru of the Visakhapatnam region, Pochamma, Maisamma, and Yellamma temples in Telangana, along with Poleramma, Gangamma, and Ankalamma temples in Andhra Pradesh, continue to attract millions of devotees every year. Their glory is preserved through countless folk songs, legends, oral traditions, and sacred stories that continue to inspire generations.

The worship of Grama Devatalu conveys a timeless spiritual message: the Divine does not reside only in magnificent temples. The same sacred presence lives in the land we cultivate, the villages we inhabit, the fields that nourish us, the trees that shelter us, and the traditions that shape our lives. Therefore, worshipping the village deity is also an act of honoring our roots, respecting nature, strengthening our communities, and preserving the eternal heritage of Sanatana Dharma.

The sacred legacy established by our ancestors continues to serve as a guiding light for future generations. May our faith in Grama Devatalu remain not merely a tradition, but an everlasting symbol of our culture, unity, reverence for nature, and unwavering devotion to the Divine Mother.

భారతీయ సనాతన సంప్రదాయంలో గ్రామ దేవతలకు అత్యంత విశిష్టమైన స్థానం ఉంది. ముఖ్యంగా తెలుగు రాష్ట్రాలైన ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ మరియు తెలంగాణలో ప్రతి గ్రామానికీ ఒక గ్రామ దేవత ఉండటం అనేది శతాబ్దాలుగా కొనసాగుతున్న పవిత్రమైన ఆచారం. ఈ దేవతలను గ్రామానికి కాపలాదారులుగా, ప్రజల రక్షకులుగా, పంటలకు శ్రేయస్సును ప్రసాదించేవారిగా, వ్యాధులు మరియు ప్రకృతి విపత్తుల నుండి కాపాడేవారిగా భావిస్తారు. గ్రామ దేవతల ఆరాధన కేవలం ఒక మతాచారం మాత్రమే కాదు; అది గ్రామ సంస్కృతికి, సంప్రదాయానికి, సామాజిక ఐక్యతకు ప్రతీక.

గ్రామ దేవతల ఆలయాలు సాధారణంగా గ్రామ ప్రవేశ ద్వారం వద్ద, చెరువు దగ్గర, పంట పొలాల సమీపంలో లేదా పురాతన వృక్షాల వద్ద కనిపిస్తాయి. దీనికి ఒక ఆధ్యాత్మిక భావన ఉంది. గ్రామ సరిహద్దులను రక్షిస్తూ, ప్రతికూల శక్తులు గ్రామంలోకి ప్రవేశించకుండా అమ్మవారు కాపలా కాస్తున్నారనే విశ్వాసం ప్రజల్లో బలంగా ఉంది. అందుకే గ్రామంలో ఏ శుభకార్యం ప్రారంభించినా, మొదట గ్రామ దేవతను దర్శించి ఆశీర్వాదం పొందడం ఇప్పటికీ అనేక ప్రాంతాల్లో ఆనవాయితీగా కొనసాగుతోంది.

తెలుగు రాష్ట్రాలలో గ్రామ దేవతల జాతరలు ఎంతో వైభవంగా జరుగుతాయి. సంవత్సరానికి ఒకసారి జరిగే ఈ ఉత్సవాలలో గ్రామస్తులందరూ కలిసి పాల్గొంటారు. ఊరేగింపులు, పల్లకీ సేవలు, ప్రత్యేక పూజలు, అన్నదానాలు, హారతులు, సాంప్రదాయ నృత్యాలు, జానపద కళారూపాలు ఈ జాతరలకు ప్రత్యేక ఆకర్షణ. గ్రామంలో ఎక్కడున్నవారైనా, విదేశాలలో నివసిస్తున్నవారైనా ఈ జాతరల కోసం స్వగ్రామానికి చేరుకోవడం విశేషం. ఇది కేవలం భక్తి మాత్రమే కాదు; కుటుంబ బంధాలను, గ్రామ ఐక్యతను మరింత బలపరిచే ఆధ్యాత్మిక ఉత్సవం.

గ్రామ దేవతల ఆరాధన ప్రకృతితో మనిషి అనుబంధాన్ని కూడా గుర్తు చేస్తుంది. చెట్లు, పుట్టలు, నదులు, చెరువులు, పంటలు, పశువులు—ఇవన్నీ దేవీశక్తి ప్రసాదాలనే భావన ఈ సంప్రదాయంలో కనిపిస్తుంది. ప్రకృతిని గౌరవించడం, భూమిని తల్లిగా చూడడం, జీవజాలాన్ని రక్షించడం వంటి విలువలు గ్రామ దేవతల ఆరాధన ద్వారా తరతరాలకు సంక్రమించాయి. ఈ కారణంగానే గ్రామ దేవతల సంస్కృతి పర్యావరణ పరిరక్షణకు కూడా ఒక గొప్ప సందేశంగా నిలుస్తుంది.

ఆధ్యాత్మిక దృష్టిలో గ్రామ దేవతలు మనలోని భయం, అస్థిరత, నిస్సహాయత వంటి భావాలను తొలగించి ధైర్యం, విశ్వాసం, రక్షణ భావాన్ని కలిగిస్తారు. అమ్మవారిపై అచంచల భక్తితో ప్రార్థించినప్పుడు మనసుకు ప్రశాంతత లభిస్తుంది. ప్రతి గ్రామ దేవత ఒక నిర్దిష్ట ప్రాంతాన్ని మాత్రమే కాకుండా, అక్కడ నివసించే ప్రజల భావోద్వేగాలను, ఆశలను, జీవన విధానాన్ని కూడా తన ఒడిలో దాచుకున్న తల్లిగా భావించబడుతుంది.

తెలుగు రాష్ట్రాలలోని అనేక ప్రసిద్ధ గ్రామ దేవతలు నేడు మహాక్షేత్రాలుగా కూడా అభివృద్ధి చెందాయి. విజయనగరం జిల్లా పైడితల్లి అమ్మవారు, విశాఖపట్నం ప్రాంతంలోని నూకాలమ్మ అమ్మవారు, తెలంగాణలోని పోచమ్మ, మైసమ్మ, ఎల్లమ్మ ఆలయాలు, ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్‌లోని పోలేరమ్మ, గంగమ్మ, అంకాళమ్మ ఆలయాలు లక్షలాది మంది భక్తుల విశ్వాస కేంద్రాలుగా నిలిచాయి. ఈ దేవతల మహిమలను వివరిస్తూ అనేక జానపద గేయాలు, కథలు, పురాణ గాథలు నేటికీ ప్రజల నోట నడుస్తూనే ఉన్నాయి.

గ్రామ దేవతల ఆరాధన మనకు ఒక గొప్ప సందేశాన్ని అందిస్తుంది. దైవం అనేది కేవలం పెద్ద పెద్ద దేవాలయాల్లో మాత్రమే ఉండదు. మనం నివసించే నేలలో, మన ఊరిలో, మన పొలాల్లో, మన చెట్లలో, మన సంస్కృతిలో కూడా అదే దివ్యశక్తి నివసిస్తుందని ఈ సంప్రదాయం తెలియజేస్తుంది. అందుకే గ్రామ దేవతను పూజించడం అంటే మన మూలాలను గౌరవించడం, ప్రకృతిని ఆదరించడం, సమాజాన్ని ప్రేమించడం, సనాతన సంస్కృతిని కాపాడుకోవడం.

మన పూర్వీకులు నిర్మించిన ఈ ఆధ్యాత్మిక వారసత్వం నేటి తరానికి కూడా మార్గదర్శకంగా నిలవాలి. గ్రామ దేవతలపై విశ్వాసం కేవలం ఆచారంగా కాకుండా, మన సంస్కృతి, ఐక్యత, ప్రకృతి ప్రేమ మరియు దైవభక్తికి ప్రతీకగా శాశ్వతంగా నిలిచి ఉండాలని మనమందరం కోరుకుందాం.

In Sanatana Dharma, Vibhuti (sacred ash) holds a place of profound spiritual importance. In the worship of Lord Shiva, Vibhuti is not merely a sacred substance used in rituals; it is a divine symbol that reminds us of the ultimate truth of existence. Lord Shiva adorns His entire body with sacred ash to teach humanity that everything in the material world is temporary and will one day return to ashes. Thus, Vibhuti symbolizes detachment, wisdom, and the realization of the eternal Self.

The word "Vibhuti" also means glory, divine power, and spiritual wealth. It is the sacred ash that remains after offerings have been purified in the sacrificial fire. Fire reduces everything to its essential form, leaving only ash behind. Likewise, the fire of spiritual knowledge burns away ego, desire, anger, greed, attachment, and pride, revealing the pure and eternal nature of the soul. Vibhuti constantly reminds us of this inner transformation.

The tradition of applying Vibhuti as three horizontal lines (Tripundra) on the forehead carries deep spiritual symbolism. These three lines represent the three gunas—Sattva, Rajas, and Tamas—which every seeker must transcend to realize the Supreme Shiva. They also symbolize the three stages of earthly existence: birth, life, and death, reminding us that while the body is temporary, the soul is immortal.

Performing Vibhuti Abhishekam to the Shivalinga is considered one of the most sacred forms of Shiva worship. Along with ablutions using water, milk, and Panchamrita, offering Vibhuti signifies surrendering one's ego, attachments, and accumulated karma at the feet of Lord Shiva. According to the Shaiva tradition, worshipping the Shivalinga with sacred ash invokes purity, spiritual wisdom, inner detachment, and divine grace.

Traditional Ayurvedic practices also attribute certain beneficial properties to sacred ash. However, its greatest significance is spiritual rather than physical. Every time a devotee applies Vibhuti to the forehead, it serves as a reminder that the body is impermanent, while the soul is eternal. This constant remembrance cultivates humility, equanimity, devotion, and inner peace.

Vibhuti also conveys another timeless message: no matter how much wealth, power, beauty, or fame one acquires in this world, everything ultimately returns to dust. Only righteousness, devotion, wisdom, and the realization of the Divine accompany the soul beyond this temporary existence. By adorning Himself with sacred ash, Lord Shiva teaches that spiritual wealth is the only treasure that endures forever.

Therefore, wearing Vibhuti should not be viewed merely as a religious custom or external mark of faith. It is a sacred spiritual practice that awakens self-awareness each day. When applied with devotion and reverence, Vibhuti becomes far more than ash upon the forehead—it becomes Shiva's divine blessing, a symbol of life's impermanence, and a silent guide leading the seeker toward self-realization and union with the Supreme.

"విభూతి" అనే పదానికి "మహిమ", "దివ్యశక్తి", "ఐశ్వర్యం" అనే అర్థాలు కూడా ఉన్నాయి. యజ్ఞంలో పవిత్రంగా సమర్పించబడిన పదార్థాలు అగ్నిలో దహనమై మిగిలే పవిత్ర భస్మమే విభూతి. అగ్ని అన్నింటినీ తనలో లీనం చేసి చివరకు మిగిల్చేది భస్మం మాత్రమే. అలాగే జ్ఞానాగ్ని మనలోని అహంకారం, కామం, క్రోధం, లోభం, మోహం, మదం వంటి అరిషడ్వర్గాలను దహనం చేసినప్పుడు మిగిలేది నిర్మలమైన ఆత్మస్వరూపమే అని విభూతి మనకు గుర్తుచేస్తుంది.

విభూతిని నుదుటిపై మూడు అడ్డగీతలుగా ధరించడం వెనుక కూడా గంభీరమైన ఆధ్యాత్మిక భావన ఉంది. ఈ మూడు గీతలు త్రిగుణాలైన సత్వ, రజస్, తమస్సులను సూచిస్తాయని, వాటిని అధిగమించి పరమశివ తత్త్వాన్ని చేరుకోవాలని సందేశమిస్తాయని ఆగమ శాస్త్రాలు వివరిస్తాయి. అలాగే అవి జననం, జీవితం, మరణం అనే మూడు దశలను గుర్తుచేస్తూ శాశ్వతమైనది శరీరం కాదని, ఆత్మ మాత్రమే నిత్యమని బోధిస్తాయి.

శివలింగానికి విభూతి అభిషేకం చేయడం అత్యంత శుభప్రదమైన ఆరాధనగా భావించబడుతుంది. పాలాభిషేకం, జలాభిషేకం, పంచామృతాభిషేకంతో పాటు విభూతి అభిషేకం చేయడం ద్వారా భక్తుడు తన అహంకారాన్ని, మమకారాన్ని, కర్మబంధాలను పరమేశ్వరుని పాదాల వద్ద సమర్పిస్తున్నాడనే భావన వ్యక్తమవుతుంది. భస్మంతో అలంకరించబడిన శివలింగం భక్తునికి వైరాగ్యాన్ని, జ్ఞానాన్ని, అంతరంగ పవిత్రతను ప్రసాదిస్తుందని శైవ సంప్రదాయం విశ్వసిస్తుంది.

విభూతి ధారణకు ఆరోగ్యపరంగా కూడా కొన్ని ప్రయోజనాలు ఉన్నాయని ఆయుర్వేద సంప్రదాయాలు పేర్కొంటాయి. అయితే ఆధ్యాత్మిక దృష్టిలో దాని అసలు ప్రాముఖ్యత మనస్సును భగవంతునిపై నిలిపే సాధనంగా ఉండటంలోనే ఉంది. నుదుటిపై విభూతి ధరించిన ప్రతిసారి "ఈ శరీరం నశ్వరమైనది; శాశ్వతమైనది ఆత్మ మాత్రమే" అనే సత్యాన్ని మనసుకు గుర్తు చేస్తుంది. ఈ స్మరణ మనిషిలో వినయాన్ని, సమత్వాన్ని, భక్తిని పెంపొందిస్తుంది.

విభూతి మనకు మరొక గొప్ప సందేశాన్ని కూడా అందిస్తుంది. ప్రపంచంలో ఎంతటి ఐశ్వర్యం, అధికారం, అందం, కీర్తి సంపాదించినా చివరకు అన్నీ భస్మమవుతాయి. కానీ ధర్మం, భక్తి, జ్ఞానం, దైవానుభూతి మాత్రమే ఆత్మతో పాటు నిలిచే నిజమైన సంపదలు. అందుకే శివుడు భస్మాన్ని తన అలంకారంగా ధరించి భౌతిక సంపదల కన్నా ఆధ్యాత్మిక సంపదే శాశ్వతమని ఉపదేశిస్తున్నాడు.

మన జీవితంలో విభూతి ధారణ ఒక సంప్రదాయం మాత్రమే కాకుండా, ప్రతి రోజూ ఆత్మజ్ఞానాన్ని జాగృతం చేసే ఒక పవిత్ర సాధనగా మారాలి. శివుని కరుణను స్మరిస్తూ భక్తితో విభూతిని ధరించినప్పుడు అది కేవలం నుదుటిపై ఉన్న భస్మం కాదు; మన అంతరంగాన్ని పవిత్రం చేసే శివప్రసాదంగా, నశ్వరతను గుర్తు చేసే జ్ఞానచిహ్నంగా, పరమాత్మ వైపు నడిపించే దివ్య మార్గదర్శిగా నిలుస్తుంది.
