*🌷. తాత్పర్యం : ఇంకా మన పక్షమున ఉన్న యోధులు కూడా తలకిందులుగా నీ భయంకరమైన నోళ్లలోనికి త్వరితగతిన ప్రవేశిస్తున్నారు. కొందరి తలలు నీ భీకరమైన పళ్ళ మధ్యలో చితికిపోయినట్టు నేను చూస్తున్నాను.*

*‘తన స్నేహితుని ఆదేశాన్ని శిరసావహించి, రథాన్ని ఉభయ సేనల మధ్యకి నడిపించిన అర్జునుడి ప్రియ మిత్రుడైన శ్రీకృష్ణుడిపై నేను ధ్యానం చేస్తున్నాను. అక్కడ శత్రుపక్షపు యోధుల జీవిత కాలాన్ని కేవలం తన చూపుతో తగ్గించివేసాడు.’ కాబట్టి, పరమేశ్వరుడైన శ్రీకృష్ణ భగవానునికి వ్యతిరేకంగా పోరాడితే మరణం తప్పదని భీష్ముడికి తప్పకుండా తెలుసు.*

*27. vaktrāṇi te tvaramāṇā viśanti daṁṣṭrā-karālāni bhayānakāni*
*kecid vilagnā daśanāntareṣu sandṛśyante cūrṇitair uttamāṅgaiḥ*
*🌷 Translation : and our chief soldiers also – are rushing into Your fearful mouths. And some I see trapped with heads smashed between Your teeth.*
*🌹 Purport : Bheeshma, the grandsire of the Kauravas and the Pandavas, was the son of Shantanu and Ganga. To facilitate his father’s wish for remarriage, Bheeshma renounced his right to the throne, and also took a lifelong vow of celibacy. However, Bheeshma had continued to support Duryodhan, despite knowing very well that he was evil and was usurping the right of the Pandavas. Thus, he was destined to die in this war of goodness versus evil. The Śhrīmad Bhāgavatam describes Bheeshma’s prayer to the Lord, when he lay on the bed of arrows at the end of his life:*
*sapadi sakhi-vacho niśhamya madhye nija-parayor balayo rathaṁ niveśhya*
*sthitavati para-sainikāyur akṣhṇā hṛitavati pārtha-sakhe ratir mamāstu (1.9.35)[v10]*
*“Let my mind meditate upon Arjun’s dear pal, Shree Krishna, who obeyed his friend’s command to drive the chariot to the center of the two armies, and while there, he shortened the lifespan of the opposing generals by his mere glance.” So, Bheeshma himself was aware that the consequence of fighting against the Supreme Lord Shree Krishna would be death.*

*అపుడా గౌరీదేవి రాక్షసుని గుర్తుపట్టి భయముతో కంగారుపడి అంతర్ధానము చెంది వేగముగా మనస సరస్సుయొక్క ఉత్తరతీరమునకు వెళ్లెను (42). ఆ రాక్షసుడు మెరుపుతీగవలె క్షణములో అంతర్హితురాలైన పార్వతిని గాంచలేక, వెంటనే మరల యుద్ధమును చేయుటకొరకై మహేశ్వరుడు వున్న స్థానమునకు వెళ్లెను (43). అపుడు పార్వతి మనస్సులో మహావిష్ణువును స్మరించెను. వెంటనే ఆమే తన సమీపములో కూర్చుండి యున్న విష్ణుదేవుని గాంచెను (44). జగన్మాత, శివునకు ప్రియురాలు అగు పార్వతి, చేతుల జోడించి నమస్కరించుచున్న ఆ విష్ణువును గాంచి ప్రసన్నమగు మనస్సుతో నిట్లనెను (45).*
*పార్వతి ఇట్లు పలికెను - ఓ విష్ణూ! జలంధరాసురుడు గొప్ప అద్భుతమును చేసియున్నాడు. ఆ దుష్టుని వ్యవవహారము నీకు తెలియదా యేమి? (46) గరుడధ్వజగడు విష్ణువు జగన్మాత, శివుని ప్రియురాలు అగు ఆమె యొక్క ఆ మాటను విని చేతులు జోడించి తలవంచి నమస్కరించి ఇట్లు బదులిడెను (47).*
శ్రీ భగవాననుడిట్లు పలికెను - ఓ దేవీ! నీ దయచే ఆ వృత్తాంతము నాకు తెలిసినదియే. ఓ తల్లీ! నీవు నాకు ఏ ఆజ్ఞను ఇచ్చిననూ, నేను దానిని నీ అనుమతితో చేసెదను (48).*
*సనత్కుమారుడిట్లు పలికెను - జగన్మాతయగు పార్వతి ఇంద్రియములకు అధిపతియగు ఆ విష్ణువుయొక్క ఆ మాటను విని ఆతనికి ధర్మమును, నీతిని నేర్పచున్నదై మరల ఇట్లు పలికెను (49).*
*పార్వతి ఇట్లు పలికెను - ఆతడు స్వయముగా దారిన చూపించినాడు. నీవు ఆ విషయమును అటులనే గ్రహించుము. నా ఆజ్ఞచే ఆతని భార్యయొక్క పాతివ్రత్యధర్మమును భ్రష్టమొనర్చుము (50). ఓ లక్ష్మీ పతీ! ఆ మహారాక్షసుని వధించుటకు మరియొక ఉపాయము లేదు. ఈ భూమండలములో పాతివ్రత్యముతో సమానమగు ధర్మము మరిమయొకటి లేదు (57).*
*సనత్కుమారుడిట్లు పలికెను - విష్ణువు ఈ విధముగా ఆమె ఆజ్ఞను విని శిరసా స్వీకరించి కపటమును చేయుటకై వెంటనే జలంధరుని నగరమునకు మరల వెళ్లెను (52).*
శ్రీ శివమహాపురాణములోని రుద్రసంహితయందు యుద్దఖండలో జలంధర యుద్ద వర్ణనమనే ఇరువది రెండవ అధ్యాయము ముగిసినది (22).

42. On realising that he was the demon, the terrified Gaurī vanished immediately to the northern shore of the Mānasa lake.
43. Unable to see her who disappeared in a moment like lightning, the Daitya immediately went to the place where lord Śiva stood in order to fight him.
44. Pārvatī remembered lord Viṣṇu mentally. Immediately she saw the lord seated near her.
45. On seeing Viṣṇu bowing to her with palms joined in reverence, Pārvatī the beloved of Śiva, the mother of the universe, spoke delightedly.
Pārvatī said:—
46. O Viṣṇu, is it not known to you that the wicked Daitya Jalandhara perpetrated a wonderfully base deed?”
47. On hearing the words of the mother of the universe, the Garuḍa-bannered lord bowed to Pārvatī bending his neck and joining his palms in reverence and spoke.
Viṣṇu said:—
48. O mother, by your favour that incident is known to me. What you shall be pleased to commend I shall perform with your permission.
Sanatkumāra said:—
49. On hearing the words of Viṣṇu, Pārvatī said again. The mother of the universe desired to teach Viṣṇu the policy based on Dharma.
Pārvatī said:—
50. He himself has shown the path. Know that to be the way in the same manner. At my bidding, make the chastity of his wife violated.
51. O Viṣṇu, that great Daitya cannot be killed otherwise. In the earth there is no other virtue equal to chastity.
Sanatkumāra said:—
52. On hearing this command and accepting it with lowered head, Viṣṇu immediately went to the city of Jalandhara for practising deception.

*Everybody goes astray from their inner world, the inner space, and then by and by one feels starved, hungry for it. An appetite arises, a thirst is felt. The call comes from the innermost self to come back home, and one starts traveling. That's what being a seeker is. It is going to the warm inner space that you left one day. You will not be gaining something new.*
*You will be gaining something that was always there, but it will still be a gain because now for the first time, you will see what it is. The last time you were in that space, you were oblivious to it. One cannot be aware of something if one has not left it. So everything is good. Going astray is also good.
