*🌷. తాత్పర్యం : ఓ అర్జునా! ధనంజయా! స్థిరముగా నా యందు మనస్సును లగ్నము చేయ నీవు సమర్థుడవు కానిచో, భక్తియోగమునందలి విధివిధానములను అనుసరింపుము. ఆ రీతిని నన్ను పొందు కోరికను వృద్ధి చేసికొనుము.*
*🌷. భాష్యము : ఈ శ్లోకమున రెండు విధములైన భక్తియోగావిదానములు తెలుపబడినవి. అందు మొదటిది దివ్యప్రేమ ద్వారా దేవదేవుడైన శ్రీకృష్ణుని యెడ అనురాగమును వాస్తవముగా వృద్దిచేసికొనినవారికి సంబంధించినది. దివ్యప్రేమ ద్వారా పరమపురుషుని యెడ అనురాగమును పెంపొందించుకొనినవారికి రెండవ పధ్ధతి పేర్కొనబడినది. ఈ రెండవ తరగతికి పలు విధివిధానములు నిర్దేశింప బడియున్నవి. శ్రీకృష్ణుని యెడ అనురాగాము కలిగిన స్థితికి మనుజుడు అంత్యమున ఉద్ధరింపబడుటకు వాటిని అనుసరింపవచ్చును. భక్తియోగమనగా ఇంద్రియముల పవిత్రీకరణమని భావము. ప్రస్తుతము భౌతికస్థితిలో ఇంద్రియములు భోగతరములై యున్నందున అపవిత్రములై యుండును. కాని భక్తియోగాభ్యాసముచే ఇంద్రియములు పవిత్రములు కాగలవు.*
*పవిత్రస్థితిలో అవి శ్రీకృష్ణభగవానునితో ప్రత్యక్ష సంబంధమునకు రాగలవు. ఈ జగమున నేను ఒక యజమాని సేవలో నిలిచినప్పుడు, నిజముగా ప్రేమతో అతనిని సేవింపను. కేవలము కొంత ధనమును పొందుటకే సేవను గూర్తును. అదేవిధముగా యజమాని సైతము ప్రేమను కలిగియుండడు. నా నుండి సేవను గ్రహించి, నాకు ధనమొసగుచుండును. కనుక ఇచ్చట ప్రేమ అనెడి ప్రశ్నయే ఉదయింపదు. కాని ఆధ్యాత్మికజీవితమున శుద్ధమగు ప్రేమస్థాయికి ప్రతియొక్కరు ఎదుగవలసినదే. ప్రస్తుత ఇంద్రియములచే నిర్వహింపబడెడి భక్తియోగాభ్యాసము చేతనే అట్టి ప్రేమస్థాయి ప్రాప్తించగలదు.*

*🌷 Translation : My dear Arjuna, O winner of wealth, if you cannot fix your mind upon Me without deviation, then follow the regulative principles of bhakti-yoga. In this way develop a desire to attain Me.*
🌹 Purport : In this verse, two different processes of bhakti-yoga are indicated. The first applies to one who has actually developed an attachment for Kṛṣṇa, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, by transcendental love. And the other is for one who has not developed an attachment for the Supreme Person by transcendental love. For this second class there are different prescribed rules and regulations one can follow to be ultimately elevated to the stage of attachment to Kṛṣṇa. Bhakti-yoga is the purification of the senses. At the present moment in material existence the senses are always impure, being engaged in sense gratification. But by the practice of bhakti-yoga these senses can become purified, and in the purified state they come directly in contact with the Supreme Lord.*
*In this material existence, I may be engaged in some service to some master, but I don’t really lovingly serve my master. I simply serve to get some money. And the master also is not in love; he takes service from me and pays me. So there is no question of love. But for spiritual life, one must be elevated to the pure stage of love. That stage of love can be achieved by practice of devotional service, performed with the present senses. This love of God is now in a dormant state in everyone’s heart. And, there, love of God is manifested in different ways, but it is contaminated by material association. Now the heart has to be purified of the material association, and that dormant, natural love for Kṛṣṇa has to be revived. That is the whole process.*

*తులసి ఇట్లు పలికెను - సాత్త్వికమనో భావములు గల నీచే నేను ఈ నాడు జయింపబడితిని. ఏ పురుషుడు ఈ లోకములో స్త్రీచే జయింపబడడో, వాడే ధన్యుడు (26). ఏ పురుషుడు స్త్రీచే జయింపబడునో వాడు పవిత్రమగు కర్మలను చేయు వాడే అయిననూ సర్వదా శౌచవిహీనుడే. పితృదేవతలు, దేవతలు, మరియు సర్వమానవులు అట్టి వానిని నిందించెదరు (27). జాతశౌచ మృతాశౌచ ములలో బ్రాహ్మణుడు పది, క్షత్రియుడు పన్నెండు, వైశ్యుడు పదిహేను, శూద్రుడు ముప్పది రోజులలో శుద్ధిని పొందునని వేదము ఉపదేశించుచున్నది. కాని స్త్రీచే జయింపబడిన పురుషుడు చితిపై దహించుటచే తప్ప ఎక్కడైననూ శుద్ధిని పొందడు (28, 29). కావున అట్టి వాడు సమర్పించిన పిండమును, తర్పణములను పితృదేవతలు ఆనందముతో స్వీకరించరు. ఆతడు సమర్పించిన పుష్పఫలాదులను దేవతలు స్వీకరించరు (30). ఎవని మనస్సు స్త్రీలచే అపహరింపబడినదో, వానికి జ్ఞానము, మంచి తపస్సు, జపము, హోమము, పూజ విద్య, దానము అను వాటితో ఏమి ప్రయోజనము గలదు? (31) నీవిద్యను, ప్రభావమును, జ్ఞానమును తెలియుటకై నేను పరీక్ష చేసితిని. స్త్రీ వరుని పరీక్షించిన తరువాతనే భర్తగా వరించవలెను గదా! (32).*
*సనత్కుమారుడిట్లు పలికెను- తులసి ఇట్లు మాటలాడు చుండగా, అదే క్షణములో సృష్టికర్తయగు బ్రహ్మ అచటకు విచ్చేసెను. అపుడాయన ఇట్లు పలికెను (33).*
*బ్రహ్మ ఇట్లు పలికెను - ఓ శంఖచూడా! ఈ మెతో నీవేమి సంభాషణను చేయుచున్నావు? ఈమెను నీవు గాంధర్వవిధిచే వివాహమాడుము (34). నీవు పురుషులలో శ్రేష్ఠుడవు. ఈ పతివ్రత స్త్రీలలో శ్రేష్ఠురాలు. జ్ఞానవంతురాలగు ఈమెకు జ్ఞానివగు నీతో వివాహము గొప్ప గుణకారి కాగలదు (35). విరోధము లేనిది, దుర్లభ##మైనది అగు సుఖమును ఎవడు విడిచిపెట్టును? ఓ రాజా! విరోధములేని సుఖమును పరిత్యజించు వ్యక్తి పశుప్రాయుడనుటలో సందేహము లేదు (36). ఓ పుణ్యాత్మురాలా! గుణవంతుడు, దేవతలను, అసురులను దానవులను శిక్షించువాడు అగు ఇట్టి సుందరుని నీవు ఏమి పరీక్ష చేయు చున్నావు? (37) నీవీతనితో గూడి చిరకాలము అన్ని వేళలలో సర్వలోకములయందలి ప్రదేశము లన్నింటిలో యథేచ్ఛగా విహరించుము. ఓ సుందరీ! (38) ఆతడు మరణించిన తరువాత గోలోకములో మరల శ్రీకృష్ణుని పొందగలడు. ఆతడు మరణించిన పిదప నీవు వైకుంఠములో చతుర్భుజుడగు విష్ణువును పొందగలవు (39).*
*సనత్కుమారుడిట్లు పలికెను- బ్రహ్మ ఈ విధముగా ఆశీర్వదించి తన ధామమునకు వెళ్లెను. ఆ శంఖచూడుడు ఆమెను గాంధర్వవిధితో వివాహమాడెను (40). ఆతడు ఈ తీరున తులసిని వివాహమాడి తండ్రి గృహమునకు వెళ్లి మనోహరమగు ఆ నివాసములో ఆ సుందరితో గూడి రమించెను (41).*

26. I have now been overpowered by you who have Sāttvika thoughts. That man is blessed in the world who is not overwhelmed by a woman.
27. Even though he may be the observer of sacred rites, if he is overpowered by a woman he becomes impure and unclean, so he remains for ever. The manes, gods and human beings censure him.
28-29. A brahmin is purified from impurity arising from births or deaths in the family, after the tenth day. A Kṣatriya in twelve days, a Vaiśya in fifteen days and a Śūdra in a month. This is what the Vedas enjoin. But a henpecked man can never be purified till death.
30. The manes do not receive willingly the balls of rice or holy waters offered by him. Nor do the gods accept his offering of fruits and flowers.
31. Of what avail are words of wisdom, penance, Japas, Homas, worships, learning or charitable gifts to that wretch whose mind is deadened by his thoughts of women?
32. You have been tested by me in order to know your knowledge and power. A woman must test her bridegroom before wooing him.
