🌷. భాష్యము :
ఇంధనముచే అగ్ని ఆర్పబడనట్లు, ఎంతటి భోగానుభవము చేతను కామము సంతృప్తి చెందదని మనుస్మృతి యందు తెలుపబడినది. ఈ భౌతికజగమునందు సర్వకర్మలకు మూలము మైథునభోగమై యున్నది. కనుకనే ఈ జగము “మైథునాగారము” లేక మైథునభోగ బంధమని పిలువబడును. కారాగారమునందు నేరస్థులు బంధింపబడినట్లు భగవానుని ఆజ్ఞలను ఉల్లఘించినవారు మైథునభోగము ద్వారా బంధింపబడుదురు.
ఇంద్రియభోగమునే పరమావధిగా భావించుచు సాధించెడి నాగరికత యొక్క పురోగతియనగా భౌతికత్వమున జీవుడు నిలిచియుండవలసిన కాలపరిమితి పొడగించుటనియే భావము. అనగా అజ్ఞానమునకు చిహ్నమైన కామమే జీవుని భౌతికజగమునందు బంధించుచున్నది. ఇంద్రియభోగము ననుభవించునప్పుడు సుఖభావనము కొద్దిగా కలిగినను వాస్తవమునకు అట్టి నామమాత్ర సుఖభావనను ఇంద్రియభోగికి నిత్యశత్రువై యున్నది.

*Thus the wise living entity’s pure consciousness becomes covered by his eternal enemy in the form of lust, which is never satisfied and which burns like fire.*
🌷 Purport :
It is said in the Manu-smṛti that lust cannot be satisfied by any amount of sense enjoyment, just as fire is never extinguished by a constant supply of fuel. In the material world, the center of all activities is sex, and thus this material world is called maithunya-āgāra, or the shackles of sex life. In the ordinary prison house, criminals are kept within bars; similarly, the criminals who are disobedient to the laws of the Lord are shackled by sex life.
Advancement of material civilization on the basis of sense gratification means increasing the duration of the material existence of a living entity. Therefore, this lust is the symbol of ignorance by which the living entity is kept within the material world. While one enjoys sense gratification, it may be that there is some feeling of happiness, but actually that so-called feeling of happiness is the ultimate enemy of the sense enjoyer.

चिन्ततस्सन्निति विष्णुः पुष्कराक्ष इतीर्यते ॥
*Vyāptyarthādakṣaterdhātoḥ puṣkaropapadādaṇi,*
*Puṣkarākṣapadotpatti rvaiyākaraṇasammatā.*
*Yo hrdayapuṇḍarīke svarūpeṇa prakāśate,*
*Cintatassanniti viṣṇuḥ puṣkarākṣa itīryate.*
*The root 'akṣū' (akṣ) which has the meaning of pervading is added to the word puṣkara; so we get Puṣkarākṣaḥ which means He who is spread in the lotus of heart. Or since He is meditated upon in the lotus of the heart where He shines in His native effulgence.*
:: श्रीमद्भागवते तृतीयस्कन्धे नवमोऽध्यायः ::
त्वं भक्तियोगपरिभावितहृत्सरोज आस्से श्रुतेक्षितपथो ननु नाथ पुंसाम् ।
यद्यद्धिया त उरुगाय विभावयन्ति तत्तद्वपुः प्रणयसे सदनुग्रहाय ॥ ११ ॥
O my Lord, Your devotees can see You through the ears by the process of bona fide hearing, and thus their hearts become cleansed, and You take Your seat there. You are so merciful to Your devotees that You manifest Yourself in the particular eternal form of transcendence in which they always think of You.

*When you serve people, you are to always bear in mind the reason why this service is done at all. Mostly, the reason is buried underneath. You have social reasons, political reasons, economic reasons and family considerations when you do any work in the form of service of people. But service which is spiritually oriented is not a social work or a political activity, nor is it connected even with family maintenance. It is actually a service done to your own self. How is that so? You may put a question: In what way is the service of people, for instance, a service to you own self?*
*Remember the few words that I spoke a little while ago, that one's essential being is also the essential being of everybody else. So the people that you see outside, even the world of space-time, is a wider dimension of the selfhood which is your own pure subjectivity. This is a subject that is a little difficult to understand, and is to be listened to with great caution and care. The service that you render to others—even to a dog, let alone human beings, even feeding manure to a tree for its sustenance or taking care of anything whatsoever—is not to be done with any kind of ulterior motive, much less even the consideration that it is something outside you.*

బ్రహ్మవిద్య నాశనరహిత మగు పరవిద్య. అందుచే తత్ప్రతిపాదక మగు అగ్నే యపురాణము పరము. సర్వ దేవతలకును సుఖమును కలిగించు ఋగ్వేదాదికము అపర బ్రహ్మ. ఆపరబ్రహ్మను ప్రతిపాదించున దగుటచే దాని కాపేరు. అగ్ని చెప్పిన పురాణము అగ్నేయపురాణము. ఇది వేదముతో సమానమైనది. చదువువారికిని, వినువారికిని భుక్తిముక్తుల నొసగునది.
కాలాగ్ని స్వరూపుడును. జ్యోతిఃస్వరూపుడును, పరాత్పరమైన బ్రహ్మయు, జ్ఞాన- కర్మలచే పూడింపబడువాడును ఆగు విష్ణుదేవుని మునిసమేతుడై (విసిష్ఠుడు) ప్రశ్నించెను.
వసిష్ఠుడు పలికెను : సకల విద్యల సారమగు ఏ బ్రహ్మను గూర్చి తెలిసికొని నరుడు సర్వజ్ఞత్వమును పొందునో అట్టిదియు, సంసారసాగరమును దాటించుటలో నావయు, సర్వశ క్తమును అగు బ్రహ్మను గూర్చి చెప్పుము.
అగ్ని పలికెను : విష్ణువు నైన నేనే కాలాగ్నిరుద్రుడను. సర్వస్వరూపమును, సర్వకారణమును, అతి ప్రాచీనమును అగు వద్యాసారమును గూర్చి నీకు చెప్పెదను.
మత్స్యకూర్మాది రూపములను ధరించిన నేను సృష్టికిని, ప్రలయమునకు, వంశములకను, మన్వంతరములకును, వంశాను చరితము మొదలగుదానికిని కారణ మైనవాడను (ముని ఋష్యాదుల వంశముల వర్ణనము వంశము. ప్రధాన రాజవంశముల వర్ణనము వంశాను చరితము) పర, అపర అను ఈ రెండు విద్యలును విష్ణు స్వరూపములే.
ఓ బ్రహ్మణా! ఋగ్యజస్సామాథర్వవేదములును, శిక్ష, కల్పము, వ్యాకరణము, నిరుక్తము, జ్యోతిషము, ఛందస్సు అను వేదాంగమూలారును, కోశము, మీమాంస, ధర్మ శాస్త్రము, పురాణము, న్యాయశాస్త్రము, అయుర్వేదము, సంగీతశాస్త్రము, ధనుర్వేదము, అర్థశాస్త్రము - ఇవన్నియు అపరవిద్య. చూడ శక్యము కానిదియు, పట్టుకొన శక్యము కానిదియు, గోత్రము గాని శాఖ గాని లేనిదియు, నిత్యమును అగు బ్రహ్మను బోధించు విద్య పరవిద్య, పూర్వము బ్రహ్మ దేవతల కెట్లు చెప్పెనో, విష్ణువు నా కెట్లు చెప్పెనో ఆ విధముగ మత్స్యాదిరూపములను ధరించిన జగత్కారణభూతు డగు విష్ణువును గూర్చి నీకు చెప్పెదను.
అగ్ని మహాపురాణములో 'ప్రశ్నము' అను ప్రథమాధ్యాయము సమాప్తము.

11. Being requested by the sages (I will also describe) (god) Viṣṇu in the form of the destructive Fire at the end of the world (who is) the effulgent Brahman (and) the most Supreme Being (who is) worshipped by means of knowledge and action (religious rites and so on).
Vasiṣṭḥa said:
12. O Brahman (Agni), point out to me the masterly way of crossing the ocean of mundane existence, by knowing the quintessence of which knowledge one becomes omniscient.
Agni said:
13. Viṣṇu is the destructive Fire at the end of the world (in the form of) Rudra (Siva). I shall tell you the essence of knowledge (in the form of) this Purāṇa, which represents all learning and is the cause of all things.
14. (Lord) Viṣṇu, who assumes the form of a fish, a tortoise (and other beings), is the cause of the primary creation, the secondary creation, the genealogy of the sages, the cycles of Manu-periods and the genealogy of the kings.
15-17. O Twice-born! (Lord) Viṣṇu (is the cause of) the two kinds of knowledge Parā (the superior) and Aparā (the inferior). Here the Aparā is represented by the Ṛgveda, Yajurveda, Sāmaveda, Atharvaveda, the six supplementary texts, (namely)—Śikṣā (phonetics), Kalpa (rules governing rituals), Vyākaraṇa (grammar), Nirukta (etymological science), (the science dealing with) the movement of the luminary bodies, Chandovidhāna (metrics), Mīmāṃsā (investigation of the interpretation of the ritual of the Vedas), Dhamaśāstra (law-books), Purāṇas (18 in number), Nyāya (logical philosophical system), Vaidya (medical science), Gāndharva (science of music), and Arthaśāstra (polity). The Parā-Vidyā (superior knowledge) is that through which the Brahman is known.
18. I shall narrate to you (that Purāṇa) which was told to me by ViṣṇU and the celestials by Brahmā and which deals with that invisible, incomprehensible, not having a cause for itself and eternal (form of Viṣṇu) which is the cause of the forms such as the fish and others.

*మనం నిద్రపోతున్నామంటే అది సామాన్యంలో కాదు, రూపకార్థలో తీసుకోవాలి. మన మెవరమో మనకు తెలీదు. అట్లాంటప్పుడు మనం మేలుకొన్నామని ఎట్లా చెబుతాం? ఏది తప్పని సరో దాన్ని గురించి మనకు తెలీదు. మనకు తెలిసిందంతా చెత్త. మనకు చంద్రుని గురించి, సూర్యుడి గురించి భూమి గురించి, చరిత్ర, భౌగిళక శాస్త్రాల గురించి తెలుసు. కానీ మన గురించి మనకేమీ తెలీదు. తెలుసుకునే వాడెవడయితే వున్నాడో అతని గురించి మనకేమీ తెలీదు. నిజమైన చదువుకు అది ప్రాథమిక జ్ఞానం.*
*మౌళికంగా నీ గురించి నువ్వు స్పృహతో వుండాలి. నువ్వెవరో తెలుసుకోవాలి. నిన్ను ముందుకు రమ్మంటాను, నువ్వు బయటకు వెళ్ళతావు. నీకు చీకటి నించీ బయటకు రాగలిగిన సామర్థ్యం వుంది. వందల యేళ్ళ పాత అలవాట్ల నించి, సుదీర్ఘనిద్ర నించీ బయటపడగిగే సామర్థ్యముంది. నువ్వు మేలుకున్న క్షణం జీవితం నాట్యమవుతుంది. పాట అవుతుంది, పరవశమవుతుంది. ఆశీర్వాదమవుతుంది.*

*ఈ భూమి ఘనీభవించుట పరిపూర్తి అయి స్థూల పదార్థము పరిమితి వరకు ఏర్పడినది. ఇక పరిణామమే శరణ్యము. పరిణామమున పదార్థమందలి ప్రజ్ఞ మేల్కాంచును. అట్టి మేలుకొలుపే ప్రస్తుత కర్తవ్యము. నిర్విరామముగ భూమిపై గల సమస్తమును మేల్కొలుపు చునేయున్నాము. మేలుకొలుపు వినుచున్న వారు మేల్కాంచుచునే యున్నారు. కాని పూర్వాభ్యాసము వలన మరల నిద్రలోనికి చను చున్నారు.*
*మేలుకొని యుండు అభ్యాసము చిరకాలము సాగవలెను. అపుడు నిద్రను కోరు స్వభావము అదృశ్యమగును. ఎడారిని నందనవనము చేయుట ప్రస్తుత కర్తవ్యమని మైత్రేయసంఘ సభ్యులెరుగుదురు. తదాశయ సిద్ధికై అహోరాత్రములు కృషి జరుగుచునే యున్నది.*
