ఆంజనేయ స్వామి మహిమలు గురించి మనకు రామాయణం ద్వారా వాల్మీకి ఎంతో అద్భుతంగా తెలియజేశారు. రామాయణంలో హనుమంతుని పాత్ర ఎంతో ఉంది.

పినతల్లి కోరిక మేరకు తండ్రి ఆజ్ఞ మేరకు 14 సంవత్సరాలు వనవాసం వెళ్ళిన శ్రీరామచంద్రుడు ఎన్నో అష్టకష్టాలు పడ్డారు. ఇలా ఆ కష్టాలలో రాముడి వెంట నిలిచిన ఆంజనేయుని మహిమలు గురించి ప్రతి ఒక్కరికి తెలిసిందే. ఈ క్రమంలోనే ఆంజనేయస్వామిని వివిధ రకాల పేర్లతో, ఆకారాలతో పిలిచి పూజిస్తారు. ఇలా ఆంజనేయ స్వామి ఆకారాలలో ఒకటి స్వామివారి తోకకు గంట ఉంటూ భక్తులకు దర్శనం కల్పిస్తుంటారు.

తండ్రి ఆజ్ఞ మేరకు వనవాసం వెళ్లిన శ్రీరామచంద్రుడు అక్కడ సీతాపహరణ జరిగిన విషయం మనకు తెలిసిందే. ఇలా సీతాపహరణ జరిగిన తర్వాత వానరుల సైన్యంతో శ్రీరామచంద్రుడు లంకపై యుద్ధానికి వెళ్తాడు. అయితే ఈ యుద్ధంలో పాల్గొనడం కోసం ఎంతో మంది వానరులు వారి కుటుంబ సభ్యులకు బాధతో, యుద్ధంలో పాల్గొనటానికి వెళ్తూ ఉన్న సమయంలో శ్రీరామచంద్రుడు తన కోసం వీరి ప్రేమను త్యాగం చేస్తున్నారని భావించి అక్కడ ఉన్న వానరులకు మాట ఇస్తారు.

యుద్ధభూమికి ఎంత మంది అయితే వానరులు వెళ్తున్నారో అంతే మంది తిరిగి వస్తారని ఎవరి ప్రాణాలకి ఎలాంటి హానీ జరగకుండా తీసుకువస్తానని శ్రీరామచంద్రుడు మాట ఇచ్చారు.అయితే ఈ యుద్ధంలో వెయ్యి సింగలీక (మరుగుజ్జు కోతులు) పాల్గొన్నాయి. ఇలా యుద్ధభూమిలో భయంకరంగా పోరాటం జరుగుతున్న నేపథ్యంలో శ్రీరామచంద్రుడు అతని సైన్యం రావణ సైన్యాన్ని మట్టుబెట్టారు.

ఇక చివరికి మిగిలింది కుంభకర్ణుడు, రావణాసురుడు మాత్రమే. ఇక కుంభకర్ణుడు భారీ దేహం గురించి మనకు తెలిసిందే. ఈ క్రమంలోనే కుంభకర్ణుడు ఎంతో పెద్దదైన రథం పై కూర్చొని యుద్ధ భూమిలోకి అడుగు పెడతారు. ఈక్రమంలోనే రాముడు తన బాణంతో కుంభకర్ణుడిని సంహరించగా ఆయన కింద పడుతున్న సమయంలో చేయి రథానికి తగులుతుంది.

ఇలా కుంభకర్ణుడు చేయి రథానికి తగలగానే రథానికి అలంకరించి ఉన్న ఒక గంట కింద పడుతుంది. ఈ గంట కింద సింగలీక వానర సైన్యం వేయి మంది పడటం వల్ల ఒక్కసారిగా చీకటి కమ్ముకుంటుంది. బయట ఏం జరుగుతుందో కూడా తెలియని స్థితిలో ఉన్న ఆ వానర సైన్యం వారి గురించి పట్టించుకునే వారే లేరని రాముడిని ఇష్టానుసారంగా మాట్లాడుతూ అవహేళన చేస్తారు.కానీ అందులో కొన్ని కోతులు రాముడే రక్షిస్తాడని శ్రీరామ తారక మంత్రం జపిస్తూ ఉంటాయి. కొంతకాలానికి అన్నికోతులూ శ్రీరామ తారక మంత్రం జపిస్తూ ఉంటాయి.

యుద్ధం ముగిసిన తర్వాత వానర సైన్యాన్ని లెక్కించమని శ్రీరాముడు సుగ్రీవుడికి చెప్పగా వారిలో వెయ్యి మంది తక్కువ వస్తారు.మరొకసారి లెక్కించాలని చెప్పడంతో మరొకసారి లెక్కించిన సంఖ్య తక్కువగా ఉండడంతో స్వయంగా రాముడు రంగంలోకి దిగి వారి కోసం వెతకసాగాడు.

ఇలా ఆ వెయ్యి వానరుల కోసం వెతుకుతున్న సమయంలో శ్రీరాముడి చూపు ఆ గంట పై పడింది.వెంటనే శ్రీరాముడు హనుమ అని అనగా అతని మనసులో భావం అర్థం చేసుకున్న ఆంజనేయుడు తన తోక ద్వారా గంటను పైకి లేపాడు. ఇలా గంట కింద వెయ్యి మంది వానరులు శ్రీరామ తారక మంత్రం జపిస్తూ వుంటారు. వేయి మంది ఉండడంతో లెక్క సరిపోయిందని చెబుతాడు. అప్పటివరకు చీకటిలో ఉన్న ఆ వానరులకు ఒక్కసారిగా వెలుతురు చూస్తూ అందులో శ్రీరాముడిని చూడగానే శ్రీ రాముడి పట్ల వారు భావన తప్పు అని వెంటనే శ్రీరామచంద్రుడి కాళ్ళపై పడి శరణు వేడారు.

వారిని ఆశీర్వదించిన శ్రీరామచంద్రుడు ఇప్పటినుంచి ఆంజనేయ స్వామి తోక వెనుక భాగాన గంట ఉన్న రూపంలో ఆంజనేయుడిని ఎవరైతే పూజిస్తారో వారి పై ఆంజనేయుడి కృప తోపాటు నా అనుగ్రహం నా కృప రెండింతలు ఉంటుందని శ్రీరామచంద్రుడు తెలిపారు.

అప్పటినుండి ఇతర ఆంజనేయ అవతారాలను పూజిస్తే వచ్చే ఫలితంకంటే ఆంజనేయుడి తోక వెనుకభాగం గంట ఉండే రూపాన్ని పూజిస్తే హనుమంతుడి అధిక కృపతోపాటు శ్రీరాముడి అనుగ్రహం కూడా అధికంగా పొందవచ్చని రామాయణం చెబుతోంది.

శ్రావణ మాసం భారతీయ సనాతన ధర్మ సంప్రదాయంలో అత్యంత పవిత్రమైన మాసాలలో ఒకటి. ఈ మాసంలో వచ్చే పౌర్ణమికి విశేషమైన ఆధ్యాత్మిక ప్రాధాన్యం ఉంది. పూర్ణచంద్రుని శుభకాంతితో ప్రకృతి అంతా ప్రకాశించే ఈ పవిత్ర దినం భక్తి, జ్ఞానం, ధర్మం, ఆత్మశుద్ధికి ప్రతీకగా భావించబడుతుంది. ముఖ్యంగా ఈ పుణ్యదినాన శ్రీమహావిష్ణువు దివ్య అవతారమైన శ్రీ హయగ్రీవ స్వామివారి జయంతిని భక్తిశ్రద్ధలతో ఆచరించడం ఒక గొప్ప సంప్రదాయం.

హయగ్రీవుడు శ్రీమహావిష్ణువు యొక్క జ్ఞానస్వరూపమైన అవతారం. మానవ శరీరం, అశ్వ ముఖంతో దర్శనమిచ్చే ఈ దివ్య స్వరూపం అత్యున్నత జ్ఞానానికి, వేదవిద్యకు, బుద్ధిశక్తికి ప్రతీకగా నిలుస్తుంది. “హయ” అంటే గుర్రం, “గ్రీవ” అంటే మెడ లేదా ముఖభాగం అనే అర్థంలో హయగ్రీవుడు అనే నామం ప్రసిద్ధి చెందింది. అయితే ఈ రూపం వెనుక ఉన్న అంతరార్థం మరింత గంభీరమైనది. అజ్ఞానాంధకారాన్ని తొలగించి, జ్ఞానప్రకాశాన్ని ప్రసాదించే పరమాత్మ స్వరూపమే శ్రీ హయగ్రీవుడు.

పురాణ కథనాల ప్రకారం, మధు–కైటభ అనే రాక్షసులు బ్రహ్మదేవుని నుండి వేదాలను అపహరించి సముద్ర గర్భంలో దాచారు. సృష్టి కార్యం కొనసాగడానికి, జీవులకు ధర్మజ్ఞానం ప్రసాదించడానికి అవసరమైన వేదాలు అదృశ్యమవడంతో లోకవ్యవస్థలో అంతరాయం ఏర్పడింది. అప్పుడు శ్రీమహావిష్ణువు హయగ్రీవ స్వరూపాన్ని ధరించి రాక్షసులను సంహరించి, వేదాలను తిరిగి బ్రహ్మదేవునికి అందజేశారని పురాణాలు వివరిస్తాయి. అందువల్ల శ్రీ హయగ్రీవుడు వేదాల రక్షకుడు, విద్యాధిపతి, జ్ఞానప్రదాతగా భక్తులచే ఆరాధించబడుతున్నాడు.

విద్యార్థులు, ఉపాధ్యాయులు, వేదాధ్యయనంలో ఉన్నవారు, రచయితలు, పరిశోధకులు మరియు జ్ఞానాన్ని కోరుకునే ప్రతి ఒక్కరికీ హయగ్రీవ స్వామివారి ఆరాధన విశేషమైనదిగా భావిస్తారు. అయితే హయగ్రీవుని అనుగ్రహం కేవలం పుస్తకజ్ఞానానికే పరిమితం కాదు. మనిషిలో వివేకం, సత్యాన్ని గ్రహించే శక్తి, మంచి–చెడులను విచక్షణతో నిర్ణయించే బుద్ధి, వినయం మరియు ఆత్మజ్ఞానాన్ని పెంపొందించేది కూడా దైవజ్ఞానమే. ఈ కారణంగానే హయగ్రీవ స్వామివారిని జ్ఞానానికి మూలస్వరూపంగా స్మరిస్తారు.

శ్రావణ పౌర్ణమి మనకు పూర్ణత్వాన్ని కూడా గుర్తుచేస్తుంది. పౌర్ణమి చంద్రుడు తన సంపూర్ణ కళలతో ప్రకాశించినట్లే, మానవ జీవితం కూడా జ్ఞానం, భక్తి, ధర్మం, ప్రేమ, కరుణ వంటి సద్గుణాలతో నిండినప్పుడు మాత్రమే నిజమైన పూర్ణత్వాన్ని పొందుతుంది. బాహ్య ప్రపంచంలోని అనేక విషయాలను తెలుసుకోవడం జ్ఞానం యొక్క ఒక భాగమే అయితే, మనలోని నిజమైన స్వరూపాన్ని తెలుసుకోవడం పరమజ్ఞానం. హయగ్రీవ స్వామివారి ఆరాధన ఈ రెండింటి మధ్య ఉన్న అనుబంధాన్ని మనకు తెలియజేస్తుంది.

ఈ పవిత్రమైన రోజున భక్తులు ఉదయాన్నే స్నానాదికాలను పూర్తి చేసుకొని, శ్రీమహావిష్ణువు లేదా శ్రీ హయగ్రీవ స్వామివారిని భక్తితో పూజిస్తారు. పుష్పాలు, పండ్లు, నైవేద్యాలను సమర్పించి, విష్ణు నామస్మరణ చేయడం, హయగ్రీవ స్తోత్రాలను పఠించడం, వేదాలు లేదా ఆధ్యాత్మిక గ్రంథాలను చదవడం ఎంతో శుభప్రదంగా భావించబడుతుంది. ముఖ్యంగా విద్యార్థులు ఈ రోజున తమ పుస్తకాలను, విద్యాసాధనాలను దైవసన్నిధిలో ఉంచి జ్ఞానం, జ్ఞాపకశక్తి, ఏకాగ్రత కోసం ప్రార్థించడం ఒక మంచి సంప్రదాయం.

శ్రావణ పౌర్ణమి సందర్భంగా మనం ఒక ముఖ్యమైన సత్యాన్ని కూడా గుర్తుంచుకోవాలి. నిజమైన విద్య మనలో అహంకారాన్ని పెంచకూడదు; వినయాన్ని పెంచాలి. జ్ఞానం ఇతరులపై ఆధిపత్యం చెలాయించడానికి కాదు, సమాజానికి మేలు చేయడానికి ఉపయోగపడాలి. విద్య ద్వారా మన హృదయం విశాలంగా మారినప్పుడు, మన ఆలోచనలు పవిత్రంగా మారినప్పుడు, మన జీవితం ధర్మమార్గంలో సాగినప్పుడు మాత్రమే ఆ జ్ఞానం సార్థకమవుతుంది.

హయగ్రీవ జయంతి మనకు అజ్ఞానం నుండి జ్ఞానానికి, చీకటి నుండి వెలుగుకు, అసత్యం నుండి సత్యానికి ప్రయాణించమనే దివ్య సందేశాన్ని అందిస్తుంది. ప్రతి మనిషి జీవితంలో ఎదురయ్యే సందేహాలు, భయాలు, అయోమయాలు కూడా జ్ఞానవెలుగుతో తొలగిపోతాయి. అందుకే ఈ పుణ్యదినాన కేవలం భౌతిక విజయాలను మాత్రమే కాకుండా, సద్బుద్ధి, వివేకం, వినయం మరియు ఆత్మజ్ఞానం కోసం కూడా భగవంతుని ప్రార్థించాలి.

The month of Śrāvaṇa is regarded as one of the most sacred months in the Indian Sanātana Dharma tradition. The Pūrṇima, or Full Moon day, that falls during this month holds special spiritual significance. Illuminated by the auspicious radiance of the full moon, this sacred day is considered a symbol of devotion, knowledge, dharma, and inner purification. Above all, it is a cherished tradition to celebrate the Jayanti of Śrī Hayagrīva Swāmi, the divine incarnation of Lord Mahāviṣṇu, with deep devotion and reverence on this holy day.

Lord Hayagrīva is the embodiment of divine knowledge and wisdom among the incarnations of Lord Mahāviṣṇu. This divine form, depicted with a human body and the face of a horse, symbolizes supreme knowledge, Vedic learning, and the power of intellect. The name “Hayagrīva” is traditionally understood through the meanings of Haya, referring to a horse, and Grīva, referring to the neck or facial region. Yet, the deeper significance of this divine form is far more profound. Lord Hayagrīva represents the Supreme Being who dispels the darkness of ignorance and bestows the radiant light of knowledge.

According to Purāṇic accounts, the demons Madhu and Kaiṭabha stole the Vedas from Lord Brahmā and hid them in the depths of the ocean. Since the Vedas were essential for the continuation of creation and for imparting the knowledge of dharma to all beings, their disappearance caused a disruption in the cosmic order. It is said that Lord Mahāviṣṇu then assumed the form of Hayagrīva, defeated the demons, and restored the Vedas to Lord Brahmā. For this reason, Lord Hayagrīva is worshipped by devotees as the protector of the Vedas, the Lord of learning, and the bestower of knowledge.

The worship of Lord Hayagrīva is considered especially significant for students, teachers, scholars of the Vedas, writers, researchers, and all seekers of knowledge. However, the grace of Lord Hayagrīva is not limited merely to bookish knowledge. Divine wisdom also nurtures discrimination, the ability to recognize truth, the intelligence to distinguish between right and wrong, humility, and self-knowledge. It is for this reason that Lord Hayagrīva is remembered as the very source and embodiment of true knowledge.

Śrāvaṇa Pūrṇima also reminds us of the meaning of completeness and fullness. Just as the full moon shines in all its glory, human life attains true fullness only when it is enriched with noble qualities such as knowledge, devotion, dharma, love, and compassion. Knowing many things about the external world is one aspect of knowledge, but realizing our own true nature is the highest form of wisdom. The worship of Lord Hayagrīva reminds us of the profound connection between worldly knowledge and spiritual realization.

On this sacred day, devotees traditionally rise early, complete their morning purification and prayers, and worship Lord Mahāviṣṇu or Lord Hayagrīva with devotion. Offering flowers, fruits, and sacred food, remembering the divine names of Lord Viṣṇu, reciting Hayagrīva stotras, and studying the Vedas or other spiritual scriptures are considered highly auspicious. Students, in particular, may place their books and educational materials before the Lord and pray for knowledge, memory, concentration, and wisdom.

Śrāvaṇa Pūrṇima also reminds us of an important truth: true education should not increase arrogance; it should cultivate humility. Knowledge should not be used to dominate others but should serve the welfare of society. Education becomes truly meaningful when it broadens our hearts, purifies our thoughts, and guides our lives along the path of dharma.

Hayagrīva Jayanti conveys the divine message of moving from ignorance to knowledge, from darkness to light, and from falsehood to truth. The doubts, fears, and confusion that arise in human life can gradually be dispelled by the light of true wisdom.

Therefore, on this sacred occasion, we should pray not only for material success but also for noble intelligence, discrimination, humility, and spiritual self-realization.

May Śrāvaṇa Pūrṇima and Śrī Hayagrīva Jayanti kindle the divine lamp of knowledge in our lives, dispel the darkness of ignorance, and guide us along the path of truth, dharma, and wisdom. May the divine grace of Lord Śrī Hayagrīva bless everyone with learning, intelligence, wisdom, peace, and spiritual progress!

Onam Festival is one of the most grandly celebrated festivals in the state of Kerala. It is not merely a harvest festival, but a sacred occasion that teaches us many spiritual values such as Dharma, devotion, humility, sacrifice, equality, and truthfulness. In particular, Onam has a deep spiritual connection with the legendary story of King Mahabali and the Vamana incarnation of Lord Maha Vishnu.

According to the Puranic tradition, King Mahabali was the grandson of Prahlada. Although he belonged to the Asura lineage, he was highly righteous, charitable, benevolent, and truthful. The Puranas describe his reign as a golden age in which people lived happily and peacefully, no one went hungry, and there was no place for injustice, deceit, or discrimination. Mahabali loved his people like his own children and earned great fame through his generosity and righteous governance.

King Mahabali conquered the three worlds through his valor and became an extremely powerful ruler. During one of his great sacrifices, Lord Maha Vishnu appeared before him in the Vamana incarnation, in the form of a young Brahmin boy. Vamana asked Mahabali for only three paces of land. Although his Guru Shukracharya warned him, the generous Mahabali did not withdraw his promise. Considering it his foremost duty to uphold Dharma and keep his word, he accepted Vamana's request.

Vamana then assumed His magnificent cosmic form. With His first step, He covered the Earth, and with His second step, He covered the entire sky. Since there was no place left for the third step, Mahabali offered his own head. This event reflects not the arrogance of Mahabali, but his egoless spirit of complete surrender. By surrendering everything he possessed before the Lord, Mahabali received divine grace through his devotion, generosity, and unwavering commitment to truth.

Although Lord Maha Vishnu sent Mahabali to the netherworld, He honored his devotion and his deep love for his people and granted him a special blessing. Mahabali was given the opportunity to return to Earth once every year to visit his beloved people. It is believed that Onam is celebrated by the people of Kerala as the sacred occasion marking the annual visit of King Mahabali to his people.

The principal spiritual message of Onam is “To give up ego and surrender to the Divine.” No matter how much power, wealth, or authority a person acquires, none of these are permanent. Before time, karma, and Divine will, one must recognize one's own limitations. This truth is beautifully reflected in the story of Mahabali. When we live with the awareness that everything we possess ultimately belongs to God, the ego within us gradually disappears.

The floral decoration known as Pookkalam, created during Onam, also has a special spiritual significance. By bringing together flowers of different colors and creating a beautiful design, it represents unity in diversity. Just as the many colors of nature come together to create one beautiful form, Pookkalam conveys the message that people from different sections of society should live together with love, mutual respect, and unity.

The Onasadya, the grand traditional feast served during Onam, is also a symbol of equality. A variety of dishes are served on a banana leaf, and family members, relatives, and friends sit together and share the meal. It expresses the profound idea that “sharing food is sharing love.” Without distinctions between the wealthy and the ordinary, everyone coming together and sharing happiness represents one of the great social and spiritual messages of Onam.

Onam is also a festival of gratitude toward nature. The Earth, water, Sun, rain, and the hard work of farmers all contribute to the growth of crops. Therefore, this festival reminds us that we should not merely enjoy the abundance provided by nature, but also cultivate a deep sense of gratitude toward it. Respecting nature and protecting the environment are also spiritual responsibilities.

Another great message in the story of Mahabali is keeping one's word. It is easy to keep a promise when circumstances are favorable. But remaining committed to one's word even when faced with difficult and unfavorable circumstances is true truthfulness and integrity. Mahabali became immortal in the pages of the Puranas because he valued his word even more than his own life.

From an inner spiritual perspective, Mahabali represents the sense of “I” within us, while Vamana represents the Supreme Divine Principle. When God enters our lives, He gradually removes our ego, selfishness, and sense of possessiveness. Finally, giving up the thought “This is mine” and reaching the state of surrender in which we realize “Everything belongs to God” is one of the highest transformations in spiritual practice.

Therefore, Onam is not merely a festival of celebration. It is a sacred occasion that conveys the profound spiritual message that we must practice Dharma, uphold truth, cultivate generosity, give up ego, respect nature, maintain equality in society, and ultimately surrender completely to the Divine.

The love that King Mahabali showed toward his people, the divine teaching bestowed by Lord Maha Vishnu through Vamana, the equality expressed through Onasadya, and the unity reflected in Pookkalam—all these together make Onam a great festival of Dharma, devotion, equality, and surrender.

“Offering the ego, practicing Dharma, sharing love, and living in remembrance of the Divine—that is the inner essence of Onam.”

కేరళ రాష్ట్రంలో అత్యంత వైభవంగా జరుపుకునే పండుగలలో ఓనం పండుగ ఒకటి. ఇది కేవలం ఒక పంట పండుగగానే కాకుండా, ధర్మం, భక్తి, వినయం, త్యాగం, సమానత్వం, సత్యనిష్ఠ వంటి అనేక ఆధ్యాత్మిక విలువలను మనకు బోధించే మహత్తరమైన పర్వదినం. ముఖ్యంగా మహాబలి చక్రవర్తి మరియు శ్రీమహావిష్ణువు వామనావతారానికి సంబంధించిన ఇతిహాస గాథతో ఓనం పండుగకు ప్రత్యేకమైన ఆధ్యాత్మిక సంబంధం ఉంది.

పురాణ కథనం ప్రకారం మహాబలి చక్రవర్తి ప్రహ్లాదుని మనుమడు. అతడు అసుర వంశానికి చెందినవాడైనా, అత్యంత ధర్మనిష్ఠుడు, దానశీలుడు, ప్రజాహితైషి, సత్యసంధుడు. అతని పాలనలో ప్రజలు సుఖసంతోషాలతో జీవించేవారని, ఎవరూ ఆకలితో ఉండేవారు కాదని, అన్యాయం, మోసం, భేదభావాలకు స్థానం ఉండేది కాదని పురాణాలు తెలియజేస్తాయి. తన ప్రజలను కన్నబిడ్డలవలె ప్రేమించిన మహాబలి, తన దానగుణం మరియు ప్రజాపాలన ద్వారా గొప్ప కీర్తిని సంపాదించాడు.

మహాబలి చక్రవర్తి తన పరాక్రమంతో మూడు లోకాలను జయించి, అత్యంత శక్తిశాలి రాజుగా ఎదిగాడు. అతని యజ్ఞ సమయంలో శ్రీమహావిష్ణువు వామనావతారంలో ఒక బాల బ్రాహ్మణుడిగా అతని వద్దకు వచ్చాడు. వామనుడు తనకు కేవలం మూడు అడుగుల భూమి కావాలని కోరాడు. దానశీలుడైన మహాబలి, గురువు శుక్రాచార్యుడు హెచ్చరించినప్పటికీ, ఇచ్చిన మాటను వెనక్కి తీసుకోలేదు. తన ధర్మాన్ని, వాగ్దానాన్ని కాపాడుకోవడమే తనకు ముఖ్యమని భావించి వామనుని కోరికను అంగీకరించాడు.

వామనుడు వెంటనే విరాట్స్వరూపాన్ని ధరించి, మొదటి అడుగుతో భూమిని, రెండవ అడుగుతో ఆకాశాన్ని కొలిచాడు. మూడవ అడుగు వేయడానికి స్థలం లేకపోవడంతో, మహాబలి తన తలను సమర్పించాడు. ఈ సంఘటన మహాబలి యొక్క అహంకారాన్ని కాదు, అతని అహంకారరహితమైన సమర్పణ భావాన్ని ప్రతిబింబిస్తుంది. భగవంతుని ముందు తన సర్వస్వాన్ని సమర్పించిన మహాబలి, తన భక్తి, దానశీలత, సత్యనిష్ఠలతో భగవంతుని అనుగ్రహాన్ని పొందాడు.

శ్రీమహావిష్ణువు మహాబలిని పాతాళానికి పంపించినప్పటికీ, అతని భక్తి మరియు ప్రజలపై ఉన్న ప్రేమను గౌరవించి ఒక వరాన్ని ప్రసాదించాడు. సంవత్సరానికి ఒకసారి తన ప్రజలను దర్శించేందుకు భూమిపైకి వచ్చే అవకాశం మహాబలికి లభించింది. మహాబలి తన ప్రజలను దర్శించడానికి వచ్చే పవిత్ర సందర్భంగానే ఓనం పండుగను కేరళ ప్రజలు భక్తిశ్రద్ధలతో జరుపుకుంటారని విశ్వాసం.

ఓనం మనకు అందించే ప్రధాన ఆధ్యాత్మిక సందేశం “అహంకారాన్ని విడిచి భగవంతునికి శరణాగతి చెందడం”. మనిషి ఎంతటి శక్తి, సంపద, అధికారం సంపాదించినా అవన్నీ శాశ్వతమైనవి కావు. కాలం, కర్మ, దైవ సంకల్పం ముందు మనిషి తన పరిమితిని గుర్తించాలి. మహాబలి కథలో ఈ సత్యం ఎంతో గొప్పగా ప్రతిఫలిస్తుంది. తనకు ఉన్నదంతా భగవంతునిదే అనే భావనతో జీవించినప్పుడు మనసులోని అహంకారం క్రమంగా తొలగిపోతుంది.

ఓనం పండుగలో పూక్కళం అని పిలిచే పుష్పాలంకరణకు కూడా ప్రత్యేకమైన ఆధ్యాత్మిక భావం ఉంది. వివిధ రంగుల పుష్పాలను కలిపి అందమైన రూపాన్ని సృష్టించడం ద్వారా భిన్నత్వంలో ఏకత్వాన్ని సూచిస్తారు. ప్రకృతిలోని అనేక రంగులు ఒకే అందమైన రూపంలో కలిసినట్లే, సమాజంలోని వివిధ వర్గాల ప్రజలు పరస్పర ప్రేమ, గౌరవం, ఐక్యతతో జీవించాలనే సందేశాన్ని పూక్కళం అందిస్తుంది.

ఓనం సందర్భంగా నిర్వహించే ఓణసద్య కూడా సమానత్వానికి ప్రతీక. అరటి ఆకుపై అనేక రకాల వంటకాలను వడ్డించి కుటుంబ సభ్యులు, బంధువులు, స్నేహితులు కలిసి భోజనం చేయడం ద్వారా “అన్నం పంచుకోవడం అంటే ప్రేమను పంచుకోవడం” అనే భావన వ్యక్తమవుతుంది. సంపదలో ఉన్నవారు, సాధారణ స్థితిలో ఉన్నవారు అనే భేదం లేకుండా అందరూ కలిసి ఆనందాన్ని పంచుకోవడం ఓనం యొక్క గొప్ప సామాజిక మరియు ఆధ్యాత్మిక సందేశం.

ఓనం ప్రకృతికి కృతజ్ఞతను తెలియజేసే పండుగ కూడా. పంటలు పండడానికి భూమి, నీరు, సూర్యుడు, వర్షం, రైతుల శ్రమ—ఇవన్నీ కారణమవుతాయి. అందువల్ల ప్రకృతి ప్రసాదించిన సంపదను కేవలం అనుభవించడం మాత్రమే కాకుండా, దాని పట్ల కృతజ్ఞతా భావాన్ని కలిగి ఉండాలని ఈ పండుగ మనకు గుర్తుచేస్తుంది. ప్రకృతిని గౌరవించడం, పర్యావరణాన్ని సంరక్షించడం కూడా ఒక ఆధ్యాత్మిక బాధ్యతే.

మహాబలి కథలో మరో గొప్ప సందేశం మాటకు కట్టుబడి ఉండటం. పరిస్థితులు అనుకూలంగా ఉన్నప్పుడు ఇచ్చిన మాటను నిలబెట్టుకోవడం సులభం. కానీ ప్రతికూల పరిస్థితులు ఎదురైనప్పటికీ ధర్మాన్ని విడిచిపెట్టకుండా వాగ్దానాన్ని నిలబెట్టుకోవడమే నిజమైన సత్యనిష్ఠ. మహాబలి తన ప్రాణాలకంటే తన మాటకు విలువనిచ్చినందువల్లే పురాణాలలో చిరస్థాయిగా నిలిచిపోయాడు.

అంతరార్థంలో చూస్తే మహాబలి అంటే మనలోని ‘నేను’ అనే భావం, వామనుడు అంటే పరమాత్మ తత్త్వం. భగవంతుడు మన జీవితంలోకి వచ్చినప్పుడు మనలోని అహంకారం, స్వార్థం, అధికారం అనే భావాలను ఒక్కొక్కటిగా తొలగిస్తాడు. చివరికి మనం “ఇది నాది” అనే భావాన్ని విడిచి “అంతా భగవంతునిదే” అనే శరణాగతి స్థితికి చేరుకోవడమే ఆధ్యాత్మిక సాధనలో గొప్ప పరిణామం.

అందువల్ల ఓనం కేవలం ఆనందోత్సవం కాదు; ధర్మాన్ని ఆచరించాలి, సత్యాన్ని కాపాడాలి, దానగుణాన్ని పెంపొందించాలి, అహంకారాన్ని విడిచిపెట్టాలి, ప్రకృతిని గౌరవించాలి, సమాజంలో సమానత్వాన్ని పాటించాలి, చివరికి భగవంతునికి సంపూర్ణ శరణాగతి చెందాలి అనే మహత్తరమైన ఆధ్యాత్మిక సందేశాన్ని అందించే పర్వదినం.

మహాబలి చక్రవర్తి తన ప్రజలపై చూపిన ప్రేమ, వామనమూర్తి ద్వారా శ్రీమహావిష్ణువు ప్రసాదించిన దైవబోధ, ఓణసద్యలో కనిపించే సమానత్వం, పూక్కళంలో ప్రతిఫలించే ఏకత్వం—ఇవన్నీ కలిపి ఓనం పండుగను ఒక గొప్ప ధర్మ–భక్తి–సమానత్వ–శరణాగతి పర్వంగా నిలబెడుతున్నాయి.

“అహంకారాన్ని అర్పించి, ధర్మాన్ని ఆచరించి, ప్రేమను పంచుకుని, భగవంతుని స్మరిస్తూ జీవించడమే ఓనం యొక్క అంతరార్థం.”

శ్రావణ శుక్ల తదియ రోజున వివాహిత స్త్రీలు తమ సౌభాగ్యం, సిరిసంపదలు, ఆయురారోగ్యాలు, కుటుంబ సుఖశాంతులు కలగాలని భక్తిశ్రద్ధలతో స్వర్ణ గౌరీ వ్రతాన్ని ఆచరిస్తారు. ఈ వ్రతం ద్వారా గౌరీదేవి అనుగ్రహాన్ని పొంది, తమ వైవాహిక జీవితం సుఖసంతోషాలతో కొనసాగాలని మహిళలు అమ్మవారిని ప్రార్థిస్తారు.

పార్వతీ దేవినే గౌరీదేవిగా పూజిస్తారు. పరమశివుడు లయకారుడిగా, అపారమైన శక్తిస్వరూపుడిగా ప్రసిద్ధి చెందగా, గౌరీదేవి స్త్రీల సౌభాగ్యాన్ని కాపాడే మంగళకరమైన శక్తిస్వరూపిణిగా భావించబడుతుంది. తన చల్లని చూపులతో మహిళలకు సౌభాగ్యాన్ని, కుటుంబాలకు సుఖశాంతులను ప్రసాదించే మంగళ గౌరీగా అమ్మవారిని భక్తులు ఆరాధిస్తారు.

స్వర్ణ గౌరీ వ్రతాన్ని సాక్షాత్తు పరమశివుడే పార్వతీదేవికి వివరించాడని పురాణ సంప్రదాయంలో చెబుతారు. ఈ వ్రతాన్ని భక్తిశ్రద్ధలతో ఆచరించడం వల్ల స్త్రీల సౌభాగ్యం దీర్ఘకాలం నిలుస్తుందని, భర్తకు ఆయురారోగ్యాలు, కుటుంబానికి శుభసంపదలు కలుగుతాయని విశ్వాసం..


🌼 స్వర్ణ గౌరీ వ్రత విధానం 🌼

స్వర్ణ గౌరీ వ్రతాన్ని ఆచరించే మహిళలు తెల్లవారుజామునే నిద్రలేచి, ఇంటిని శుభ్రంగా చేసుకుని, తలంటు స్నానం చేయాలి. అనంతరం పూజా వేదికను ఏర్పాటు చేసి, పసుపు, కుంకుమ, పూలు, తోరణాలతో అందంగా అలంకరించాలి. గౌరీదేవి చిత్రపటాన్ని లేదా గౌరీదేవి విగ్రహాన్ని పూజా వేదికపై ప్రతిష్ఠించి భక్తిశ్రద్ధలతో పూజను ప్రారంభించాలి.

నూలు దారంతో తోరాన్ని తయారు చేసి, దానికి పదమూడు ముడులు వేసి, పసుపు రాసి పవిత్రంగా సిద్ధం చేసుకోవాలి. అనంతరం ఆ తోరాన్ని చేతికి కట్టుకుని గౌరీదేవికి షోడశోపచార పూజ నిర్వహించాలి. అమ్మవారికి పదహారు రకాల పుష్పాలు, పదహారు రకాల పండ్లు సమర్పించి భక్తితో పూజించాలి.

గౌరీదేవి కోసం ప్రత్యేకంగా తయారు చేసిన పిండివంటలను నైవేద్యంగా సమర్పించాలి. అనంతరం చేతిలో అక్షింతలు తీసుకుని స్వర్ణ గౌరీ వ్రత కథను భక్తితో వినాలి లేదా చదవాలి. వ్రత కథ పూర్తయిన తరువాత అక్షింతలను తలపై వేసుకుని గౌరీదేవి అనుగ్రహాన్ని ప్రార్థించాలి.


🌺 స్వర్ణ గౌరీ వ్రత కథ 🌺

పూర్వకాలంలో ఒక మహారాజు అడవిలో వేటకు వెళ్లి, ఒక నదీ తీర ప్రాంతానికి చేరుకున్నాడు. అక్కడ ఒక చిన్న ఆశ్రమాన్ని, ఆ ఆశ్రమం సమీపంలో కొంతమంది మహిళలు ఒకచోట చేరి పూజలు చేస్తుండటాన్ని ఆయన గమనించాడు. వారి వద్దకు వెళ్లిన రాజు, వారు ఏమి చేస్తున్నారో అడిగాడు.

అప్పుడు ఆ మహిళలు తాము స్వర్ణ గౌరీ వ్రతాన్ని ఆచరిస్తున్నామని రాజుకు తెలిపారు. ఈ వ్రతాన్ని భక్తిశ్రద్ధలతో ఆచరించడం వల్ల స్త్రీల సౌభాగ్యం దీర్ఘకాలం నిలుస్తుందని, భర్తకు ఆయుర్దాయం పెరుగుతుందని వారు వివరించారు. రాజు వారి నుంచి వ్రత విధానాన్ని తెలుసుకుని, తిరిగి తన అంతఃపురానికి వెళ్లి తన ఇద్దరు భార్యలకు స్వర్ణ గౌరీ వ్రతం గురించి తెలియజేశాడు.

అయితే ఆ ఇద్దరు భార్యల్లో పెద్ద భార్య ఈ వ్రతాన్ని నిర్లక్ష్యం చేసి, దాని గురించి హేళనగా మాట్లాడింది. చిన్న భార్య మాత్రం ఎంతో భక్తిశ్రద్ధలతో స్వర్ణ గౌరీ వ్రతాన్ని ఆచరించింది. వ్రతాన్ని తక్కువ చేసి మాట్లాడిన పెద్ద భార్య అనేక కష్టాలను ఎదుర్కొంది. భక్తితో, నియమనిష్ఠతో వ్రతాన్ని ఆచరించిన చిన్న భార్య మాత్రం సుఖసంతోషాలతో జీవించింది.

ఈ కథ ద్వారా మనకు ఒక ముఖ్యమైన సందేశం తెలుస్తుంది. ప్రతి ఒక్కరూ తమ విశ్వాసం, సంప్రదాయం, సామర్థ్యానికి అనుగుణంగా వ్రతాన్ని ఆచరించవచ్చు. అయితే భక్తితో ఆచరించే వ్రతాలను హేళన చేయడం, ఎగతాళి చేయడం, తక్కువ చేసి మాట్లాడటం మాత్రం తగదు.

స్వర్ణ గౌరీ పూజా విధానం గురించి చాలామందికి వివిధ సందేహాలు ఉంటాయి. సాధారణంగా మంగళ గౌరీదేవి వ్రత పూజా విధానాన్ని స్వర్ణ గౌరీ పూజలో కూడా అనుసరించవచ్చని సంప్రదాయంలో చెబుతారు. వివాహిత మహిళలు ఈ స్వర్ణ గౌరీ నోమును పదహారు సంవత్సరాల పాటు ఆచరించే సంప్రదాయం కూడా ఉంది.

సకల సౌభాగ్యాలను ప్రసాదించే స్వర్ణ గౌరీదేవి కృపాకటాక్షాలు ప్రతి కుటుంబంపైనా ఉండాలని, మహిళలందరికీ దీర్ఘ సౌభాగ్యం, ఆయురారోగ్యాలు, సిరిసంపదలు, సుఖశాంతులు కలగాలని మనసారా ప్రార్థిద్దాం.

శ్రీ మహాగణపతి పరబ్రహ్మ స్వరూపుడు, సమస్త విఘ్నాలను తొలగించే విఘ్నేశ్వరుడు, జ్ఞానం, బుద్ధి, వివేకం, ఐశ్వర్యం, సిద్ధి, శుభఫలాల ప్రసాదకుడు. ఆయన కేవలం గణాల అధిపతి మాత్రమే కాదు; ఈ విశ్వ సృష్టి, స్థితి, లయలకు ఆధారమైన దివ్య చైతన్యానికి ప్రతీక. ఆయన అనుగ్రహం లభించిన చోట అజ్ఞానం తొలగి జ్ఞానజ్యోతి వెలుగుతుంది; భయం తొలగి ధైర్యం కలుగుతుంది; అడ్డంకులు తొలగి విజయ ద్వారాలు తెరుచుకుంటాయి.


🌺 శ్రీ గణేశుని 12 దివ్య మహిమలు 🌺

1. విశ్వ చైతన్య స్వరూపుడు

శ్రీ గణేశుడు అనంతమైన బ్రహ్మాండ చైతన్యానికి ప్రతిరూపం. సమస్త సృష్టిలో వ్యాపించిన దివ్యశక్తి ఆయనలోనే నిత్యంగా ప్రకాశిస్తుంది. భౌతిక, ఆధ్యాత్మిక, దైవిక లోకాలన్నింటికీ ఆయనే ఆధారం.


2. విఘ్నాలను తొలగించే విఘ్నేశ్వరుడు

జీవితంలో ఎదురయ్యే ప్రతి అడ్డంకి, సంకటం, అపజయం, దురదృష్టం, ప్రతికూలతను తొలగించి శుభమార్గాన్ని ప్రసాదించేవాడు శ్రీ గణపతి. అందుకే ప్రతి శుభకార్యానికి ముందు ఆయనను మొదటగా పూజిస్తారు.


3. జ్ఞానం, బుద్ధి, వివేక ప్రసాదకుడు

శ్రీ గణేశుడు విద్యకు, జ్ఞానానికి, మేధస్సుకు, వివేకానికి అధిదేవుడు. ఆయన అనుగ్రహంతో మనస్సు స్థిరపడుతుంది, సరైన నిర్ణయశక్తి పెరుగుతుంది, ఆత్మవిశ్వాసం బలపడుతుంది.


4. పాశం – బంధ విమోచక శక్తి

ఆయన చేతిలోని పాశం భక్తులను అజ్ఞానం, మోహం, అహంకారం, మాయా బంధాల నుంచి విముక్తి కలిగించే దివ్య శక్తికి ప్రతీక. ఇది మనస్సును ధర్మమార్గంలో నడిపిస్తుంది.


5. పరశు – దుష్టశక్తుల సంహారకుడు

శ్రీ గణేశుని పరశు అజ్ఞానం, దుర్గుణాలు, ప్రతికూల ఆలోచనలు, అంతరాయాలను సమూలంగా తొలగించే దివ్య ఆయుధం. ఇది ధర్మరక్షణకు, ఆత్మశుద్ధికి సంకేతం.


6. అభయముద్ర – రక్షణ, కరుణకు ప్రతీక

శ్రీ గణపతి అభయహస్తం భక్తులకు నిర్భయ జీవితం, దైవ రక్షణ, ఆశీర్వాదం, నమ్మకం, మానసిక శాంతిని ప్రసాదిస్తుంది. ఆయన శరణాగతులను ఎల్లప్పుడూ కాపాడుతాడు.


7. మోదకం – ఆనందం, సిద్ధి, సంపూర్ణతకు చిహ్నం

గణేశునికి అత్యంత ప్రీతికరమైన మోదకం ఆధ్యాత్మిక ఆనందం, కర్మఫల సిద్ధి, సంతృప్తి, ఐశ్వర్యం, విజయానికి ప్రతీక. భక్తితో చేసిన ప్రయత్నాలకు మధుర ఫలితాన్ని ప్రసాదించేవాడని ఇది సూచిస్తుంది.


8. ఓంకార స్వరూపుడు

శ్రీ గణేశుడు ప్రణవ నాదమైన "ఓం" యొక్క సాక్షాత్కార రూపం. సమస్త వేదాల సారం, సృష్టి ఆరంభానికి మూలమైన ఆ పరమశబ్ద చైతన్యం ఆయనలోనే నిత్యం వెలుగుతుంది.


9. పవిత్ర తిలకం – జ్ఞాన ప్రకాశానికి ప్రతీక

ఆయన మస్తకంపై ప్రకాశించే దివ్య తిలకం ఆత్మజ్ఞానం, ధర్మం, పవిత్రత, పరమసత్యాన్ని సూచిస్తుంది. అది అజ్ఞానాంధకారాన్ని తొలగించి జ్ఞాన వెలుగును ప్రసరిస్తుంది.


10. విశ్వవ్యాప్త కరుణామూర్తి

హిందూ సనాతన సంప్రదాయంలో ప్రతి శుభకార్యానికి ఆది దేవుడిగా, విఘ్నాలను తొలగించే విఘ్నేశ్వరుడిగా, జ్ఞానం, బుద్ధి, సిద్ధి, సంపదలకు అధిపతిగా శ్రీ మహాగణపతిని ఆరాధిస్తారు. ప్రతి నెల పౌర్ణమి తర్వాత వచ్చే కృష్ణపక్ష చతుర్థి రోజును సంకష్టహర చతుర్థిగా పూజించడం ఆనవాయితీ. ఈ పవిత్రమైన రోజున భక్తిశ్రద్ధలతో శ్రీగణేశుని పూజించిన వారికి జీవితంలోని కష్టాలు, అడ్డంకులు, దుఃఖాలు తొలగి శుభఫలితాలు కలుగుతాయని పురాణాలు తెలియజేస్తున్నాయి.

"సంకష్టం" అంటే కష్టం, బాధ, విఘ్నం. "హర" అంటే తొలగించేవాడు. అందువల్ల "సంకష్టహర చతుర్థి" అంటే భక్తుల కష్టాలను తొలగించే శ్రీగణేశుని ప్రత్యేక ఆరాధన దినం. ఈ రోజున ఉపవాసం ఉండి, గణపతికి దుర్వాగడ్డి, ఎర్రని పుష్పాలు, మోదకాలు సమర్పించి, "ఓం గం గణపతయే నమః" మంత్రాన్ని జపిస్తూ భక్తితో పూజిస్తే ఆయన అనుగ్రహం సులభంగా లభిస్తుందని శాస్త్రాలు పేర్కొంటాయి. చంద్రోదయం అనంతరం గణపతిని దర్శించి వ్రతాన్ని ముగించడం ఈ వ్రతంలోని ముఖ్యమైన ఆచారం.

శ్రీగణేశుడు కేవలం విఘ్నాలను తొలగించే దేవుడు మాత్రమే కాదు. ఆయన మన జీవితానికి ఒక గొప్ప గురువు కూడా. ఏనుగు తల విశాలమైన ఆలోచనను సూచిస్తుంది. పెద్ద చెవులు ఎక్కువగా వినే గుణాన్ని నేర్పుతాయి. చిన్న కళ్ళు ఏకాగ్రతకు సంకేతం. చిన్న నోరు తక్కువ మాట్లాడాలని, పెద్ద పొట్ట జీవితంలోని సుఖదుఃఖాలను సమభావంతో స్వీకరించాలని బోధిస్తుంది. ఆయన వాహనమైన మూషికం మన కోరికలు, చంచలమైన మనస్సును సూచిస్తుంది. వాటిపై నియంత్రణ సాధించినప్పుడే నిజమైన విజయం లభిస్తుందని గణపతి రూపమే మనకు తెలియజేస్తుంది.

పురాణాలలో ఎన్నో సందర్భాల్లో శ్రీగణేశుడు తన భక్తుల సంకటాలను తొలగించినట్లు వర్ణించబడింది. మహాభారతాన్ని వ్యాసమహర్షి చెప్పగా దానిని లిఖించిన మహాగణపతి అపారమైన జ్ఞానానికి ప్రతీకగా నిలిచాడు. దేవతలకైనా, మానవులకైనా ఏ కార్యం ప్రారంభించే ముందు గణపతిని పూజించడం అనాదిగా వస్తున్న సంప్రదాయం. ఎందుకంటే ఆయన అనుగ్రహం లభిస్తే కార్యసిద్ధి సులభమవుతుందని విశ్వాసం.

సంకష్టహర చతుర్థి రోజున కుటుంబ సభ్యులందరూ కలిసి గణేశుని పూజించడం ద్వారా ఇంటిలో శాంతి, ఐకమత్యం, ఆనందం పెరుగుతాయి. విద్యార్థులకు విద్యలో ఏకాగ్రత, ఉద్యోగార్థులకు అవకాశాలు, వ్యాపారులకు అభివృద్ధి, కుటుంబాలకు ఆరోగ్యం, ఐశ్వర్యం కలుగుతాయని భక్తులు విశ్వసిస్తారు. ముఖ్యంగా మనసులోని భయం, ఆందోళన, నిరాశ తొలగి ఆత్మవిశ్వాసం పెరగడం ఈ ఆరాధనలోని గొప్ప ఆధ్యాత్మిక ఫలితం.

నిజానికి జీవితంలోని ప్రతి విఘ్నం బయట నుండి రాదు. మనలోని అహంకారం, భయం, అలసత్వం, అసూయ, కోపం వంటి అంతర్గత విఘ్నాలే మన పురోగతికి పెద్ద అడ్డంకులు. శ్రీగణేశుని ఆరాధన ద్వారా మనస్సు ప్రశాంతమై, వివేకం పెరిగి, సరైన నిర్ణయాలు తీసుకునే శక్తి కలుగుతుంది. అందుకే గణపతి ఆరాధన బాహ్య విజయానికే కాకుండా అంతర్ముఖ వికాసానికీ మార్గం చూపుతుంది.

In the Hindu Sanatana tradition, Lord Mahaganapati is worshipped as the Adi Devata (the First Deity) of every auspicious beginning, the remover of obstacles, and the Lord of wisdom, intellect, success, and prosperity. Every month, the fourth day (Chaturthi) of the waning phase of the moon following the Full Moon is observed as Sankashtahara Chaturthi. The Puranas proclaim that devotees who worship Lord Ganesha with sincere faith and devotion on this sacred day are blessed with relief from hardships, obstacles, and sorrows, and receive happiness, success, and auspicious results.

The word "Sankashta" means difficulty, suffering, or obstacle, while "Hara" means the one who removes. Therefore, Sankashtahara Chaturthi is a sacred day dedicated to Lord Ganesha, the remover of all afflictions. Devotees observe a fast, offer sacred durva grass, red flowers, and modakas, and chant the mantra "Om Gam Ganapataye Namah" with devotion to receive His divine grace. According to the scriptures, the fast is traditionally concluded after offering prayers to Lord Ganesha following moonrise.

Lord Ganesha is not merely the remover of obstacles; He is also a profound spiritual teacher. His elephant head symbolizes broad vision and wisdom. His large ears teach us to listen more. His small eyes represent concentration and focus. His small mouth reminds us to speak less, while His large belly teaches us to accept both joy and sorrow with equanimity. His vehicle, the mouse, symbolizes our restless mind and endless desires. Only by mastering these inner tendencies can one attain true success, and Lord Ganesha's divine form beautifully conveys this eternal wisdom.

The Puranas describe numerous occasions where Lord Ganesha removed the hardships of His devotees. When Sage Vyasa dictated the Mahabharata, it was Lord Ganesha who wrote it down, becoming the eternal symbol of supreme knowledge and intelligence. Since ancient times, it has been a sacred tradition to worship Lord Ganesha before beginning any important undertaking, whether by gods or humans, because His blessings ensure the successful completion of every noble endeavor.

On Sankashtahara Chaturthi, families worship Lord Ganesha together, bringing peace, unity, and happiness into their homes. Students receive concentration in their studies, job seekers gain new opportunities, businesses flourish, and families are blessed with health, prosperity, and abundance. Above all, this sacred worship removes fear, anxiety, and despair from the heart while filling devotees with confidence, hope, and inner strength.

In reality, the greatest obstacles in life do not always come from the outside world. Ego, fear, laziness, jealousy, anger, and negative thoughts are the real barriers to our progress. Through sincere worship of Lord Ganesha, the mind becomes calm, wisdom awakens, and the power to make righteous decisions increases. Thus, the worship of Lord Ganesha leads not only to worldly success but also to inner transformation and spiritual evolution.

On this sacred occasion of Sankashtahara Chaturthi, let us pray that the divine grace of Lord Mahaganapati, the destroyer of all obstacles, showers upon every home, blessing every family with peace, good health, prosperity, happiness, and abundance.

The role of the Guru in human life is of the highest significance. However, it is important to understand that a Guru is not merely an individual to be admired or worshipped for his physical form. A true Guru never binds seekers to himself; instead, he directs them toward the Truth that already exists within them. The Guru is not the destination but the doorway that leads to the ultimate destination. More important than the Guru's personality is the path he reveals.

Merely worshipping the physical form of the Guru without understanding and living his teachings does not lead to spiritual growth. True discipleship is expressed by practicing the values taught by the Guru. Humility, discrimination, self-inquiry, meditation, and the sincere pursuit of Truth are the qualities that enable the Guru's grace to bear fruit in one's life.

The greatest service a Guru renders is the removal of ego, selfishness, fear, and ignorance from the disciple's mind. Rather than giving something entirely new, he awakens the dormant Divine Consciousness already present within us. The Guru visible to our eyes introduces us to the Divine Light hidden within our own being. This is why the Guru becomes the turning point in a seeker's spiritual evolution.

Every Guru has a unique way of teaching. Some instruct through words, some through silence, and others through the example of their own lives. Yet their purpose is always the same—to help the disciple realize his true Self and stand firmly established in inner wisdom. A true Guru does not make disciples dependent upon him; instead, he makes them dependent upon the Truth within themselves.

Respecting and honoring the Guru is essential on the spiritual path. However, it is not enough to stop at reverence for the individual. One must understand and embody the Truth, Dharma, and noble values that the Guru teaches. The Guru leads the seeker to the doorway of liberation, but crossing that threshold is the responsibility of the disciple.

Finding a true Guru is one of life's greatest blessings. But an even greater blessing is transforming the Guru's teachings into one's way of life. The Guru's grace is not merely an external blessing; it blossoms inwardly as the light of wisdom illuminates the heart.

Therefore, the Guru is not someone to be worshipped merely as a person. He is the path to the realization of Truth. He is the doorway through which one enters the realm of Self-knowledge, inner peace, and ultimate liberation.


🍀 The Guru – The Gateway to Liberation 🍀

The great saints declare that for a sincere spiritual aspirant who longs for liberation, it is the Supreme Lord Himself who assumes the form of a Guru. Therefore, beholding the Guru is equivalent to beholding God. A Guru is not an ordinary human being but a realized soul who has become one with the Divine. His very presence awakens devotion, faith, purity, and spiritual awareness in the hearts of seekers. Simply being in his company is itself a profound spiritual practice.

The Guru serves as the living bridge between the immortal Supreme Reality and the ordinary human being. Having transcended the limitations of the material world and realized the Infinite, he moves freely between the realm of the Absolute and the world of humanity. Standing at the threshold of immortality, he stretches out one hand to lift those drowning in the ocean of worldly existence while extending the other in compassion, guiding them toward the eternal kingdom of divine bliss.

Only those who have received the direct grace of the Supreme and attained Self-realization are worthy of being called true Gurus. Merely studying the Vedas, memorizing scriptures, listening to lectures, or delivering eloquent discourses does not qualify one to be a Guru. Scriptural knowledge must ripen into direct spiritual realization. Only liberated souls who have experienced the Truth firsthand deserve the seat of the Guru. Such enlightened Masters are embodiments of Brahman itself; they are not separate from the Supreme Reality.

Miraculous powers, supernatural abilities, or extraordinary phenomena are not the marks of a genuine Guru. True Masters never display yogic powers to impress others. On rare occasions, extraordinary events may occur only to strengthen a disciple's faith or deepen spiritual conviction. Such miracles are merely incidental. The true greatness of a Guru lies in his wisdom, compassion, purity, and direct realization of the Absolute.

Wherever great saints reside, that very place becomes a sacred pilgrimage. Their presence sanctifies the land. Their vision, words, and holy company transform countless lives. A Guru influences the world not merely through his personality but through the radiance of Divine Consciousness flowing through him.

A Sadguru is an ocean of compassion, wisdom, and supreme bliss. Like a skilled boatman, he rescues those drowning in the ocean of worldly suffering by extending the rope of Divine Knowledge. He removes the veil of ignorance, awakens the divinity hidden within every individual, transforms animalistic tendencies into divine virtues, converts sorrow into peace, restlessness into joy, and bondage into freedom.

The Guru should never be regarded as merely another human being. The more we see him only as a person, the more we fail to recognize his true spiritual greatness. What deserves our reverence is not merely his physical body but the Divine Consciousness expressing itself through him. Therefore, the Guru should be honored with devotion, humility, and gratitude, while his teachings should be firmly established in our hearts.

The Guru is God Himself. His words are sacred revelations. There remains nothing further for him to learn because he abides permanently in the realization of Truth. His very presence inspires courage, enthusiasm, inner peace, and unwavering faith in the hearts of seekers. His company is itself a living spiritual university. Scriptures may impart knowledge, but the living Guru transforms life through direct experience.

Human beings truly learn from another living human being. Therefore, the Divine assumes human form as the Guru. He is the perfect embodiment of ideal humanity. Through his own life, he demonstrates how to live, think, love, and ultimately attain liberation. Such a realized Master alone is worthy of reverence, worship, surrender, and complete trust. Yet, the Guru is not the final destination. The Guru is the gateway to liberation. He is the entrance into the Infinite Reality of Sat-Chit-Ananda—Existence, Consciousness, and Bliss Absolute.

However, it is the seeker who must walk through that doorway. The Guru points out the path, removes doubts, inspires perseverance, and grants the strength to overcome obstacles. But the responsibility for spiritual practice, self-discipline, meditation, self-inquiry, detachment, and sincere effort rests with the aspirant.

Therefore, the Guru is not merely someone to be worshipped as an individual. He is the living gateway to liberation. Those who surrender to the Guru with humility and faithfully walk the path he reveals alone pass through that gateway and attain the supreme bliss of Self-realization and eternal freedom.

మనిషి జీవితంలో గురువు పాత్ర అత్యంత విశిష్టమైనది. అయితే గురువు అంటే కేవలం ఒక వ్యక్తిని ఆరాధించడం, ఆయన రూపానికే పరిమితమవడం కాదని తెలుసుకోవాలి. నిజమైన గురువు తనవద్దకు మనలను కట్టిపడేయడు; మనలోనే ఉన్న సత్యాన్ని గుర్తించే దిశగా నడిపిస్తాడు. గురువు ఒక గమ్యం కాదు, గమ్యానికి తీసుకెళ్లే ద్వారం. ఆయన వ్యక్తిత్వం కంటే ఆయన చూపించే మార్గమే ముఖ్యమైనది.

గురువు బోధనలను అర్థం చేసుకోకుండా కేవలం ఆయన రూపాన్ని మాత్రమే పూజించడం వల్ల ఆధ్యాత్మిక వికాసం కలగదు. నిజమైన శిష్యత్వం అనేది గురువు చెప్పిన విలువలను ఆచరించడం ద్వారా వ్యక్తమవుతుంది. వినయం, వివేకం, స్వీయ పరిశీలన, ధ్యానం, సత్యాన్వేషణ వంటి గుణాలు జీవితంలో పెరిగినప్పుడే గురుకృప ఫలిస్తుంది.

మనసులోని అహంకారం, స్వార్థం, భయాలు, అపోహలు తొలగించడమే గురువు చేసే గొప్ప సేవ. ఆయన మనకు కొత్త జ్ఞానాన్ని ఇవ్వడం కంటే, మనలో ఇప్పటికే ఉన్న చైతన్యాన్ని మేల్కొలుపుతాడు. వెలుపల కనిపించే గురువు, అంతరంగంలో ఉన్న దివ్యజ్యోతిని పరిచయం చేస్తాడు. అందుకే గురువు మన జీవితంలో మార్పుకు కారణమవుతాడు.

ప్రతి గురువుకూ తనదైన బోధనా విధానం ఉంటుంది. కొందరు మాటలతో బోధిస్తారు, కొందరు మౌనంతో బోధిస్తారు, మరికొందరు తమ జీవితాన్నే సందేశంగా నిలబెడతారు. కానీ అందరి లక్ష్యం ఒక్కటే – శిష్యుడు తన అసలైన స్వరూపాన్ని తెలుసుకొని స్వతంత్రంగా నిలబడటం. నిజమైన గురువు శిష్యుడిని తనపై ఆధారపడేలా కాకుండా, తనలోని జ్ఞానంపై ఆధారపడేలా చేస్తాడు.

ఆధ్యాత్మిక మార్గంలో గురువును గౌరవించడం అవసరం. అయితే గురువును వ్యక్తిగా మాత్రమే చూసి అక్కడే ఆగిపోవడం సరైంది కాదు. ఆయన చూపించే సత్యాన్ని, ధర్మాన్ని, జీవన విలువలను గ్రహించడం మరింత ముఖ్యమైనది. గురువు చేతిని పట్టుకొని ద్వారం వరకు తీసుకెళ్తాడు; ఆ ద్వారం దాటి లోపలికి అడుగుపెట్టాల్సింది మాత్రం శిష్యుడే.

జీవితంలో నిజమైన గురువు లభించడం మహాభాగ్యం. కానీ అంతకంటే గొప్పది, ఆయన బోధనలను జీవన విధానంగా మార్చుకోవడం. గురువు ఆశీర్వాదం అనేది బాహ్యంగా లభించే వరం మాత్రమే కాదు; అంతరంగంలో జ్ఞాన దీపం వెలిగినప్పుడు అది నిజమైన గురుకృపగా వికసిస్తుంది.

అందువల్ల గురువు అంటే ఒక వ్యక్తిని ఆరాధించడం మాత్రమే కాదు; సత్యాన్ని దర్శించే మార్గాన్ని అనుసరించడం. గురువు ఒక ద్వారం. ఆ ద్వారం గుండా ప్రవేశించినప్పుడు మాత్రమే ఆత్మజ్ఞానం, శాంతి, విముక్తి అనే నిజమైన సంపదలు మనకు లభిస్తాయి.


🍀 గురువు మోక్షానికి ద్వారం 🍀

ముముక్షువుకు (మోక్షాన్ని కోరుకునే సాధకునికి) మార్గదర్శనం చేయడానికి సాక్షాత్తు పరమేశ్వరుడే గురురూపాన్ని ధరిస్తాడని మహనీయులు చెబుతారు. అందుకే గురుదర్శనం అంటే ఈశ్వర దర్శనమే. గురువు సాధారణ వ్యక్తి కాదు; ఈశ్వరునితో ఏకత్వాన్ని పొందిన మహాత్ముడు. ఆయన సాన్నిధ్యం సాధకునిలో భక్తిని, విశ్వాసాన్ని, పవిత్రతను, ఆత్మజాగృతిని కలిగిస్తుంది. ఆయన సమీపంలో ఉండడమే ఒక ఆధ్యాత్మిక సాధన.

గురువు అమృతస్వరూపుడైన పరమాత్మకు మరియు సాధారణ మానవునికి మధ్య ఒక అనుసంధాన వంతెన. ఆయన జగత్తు అనే పరిమితిని దాటి అనంత సత్యాన్ని అనుభవించిన మహనీయుడు. అందువల్ల ఆయన ఒకేసారి లోకంలోనూ, దివ్యచైతన్యంలోనూ స్వేచ్ఛగా విహరించగలడు. అమరత్వపు గడపపై నిలబడి, సంసారబంధనాల్లో చిక్కుకున్న జీవులను ఒక చేతితో పైకి లేపుతూ, మరొక చేతితో వారికి ఆధారమిస్తూ శాశ్వత ఆనంద సామ్రాజ్యానికి దారి చూపిస్తాడు.

పరమాత్మ అనుగ్రహం పొందినవారే నిజమైన గురువులు. కేవలం వేదాలు చదవడం, శాస్త్రాలను కంఠస్థం చేయడం, ప్రసంగాలు వినడం, సభలు నడపడం వల్ల గురుత్వం లభించదు. శాస్త్రజ్ఞానం అనుభవజ్ఞానంగా మారి, ఆత్మసాక్షాత్కారాన్ని పొందినవారే గురుపీఠానికి అర్హులు. జీవన్ముక్తులైన మహాత్ములే నిజమైన గురువులు. అలాంటి సద్గురువులు బ్రహ్మస్వరూపులే; వారు బ్రహ్మకు భిన్నులు కారు.

సద్గురువుకు సిద్ధులు, అద్భుతాలు, అసాధారణ శక్తులు ప్రమాణం కావు. నిజమైన గురువులు తమ యోగసిద్ధులను ప్రదర్శిస్తూ తిరగరు. కొన్నిసార్లు మాత్రమే సాధకునిలో విశ్వాసాన్ని పెంపొందించడానికి, అతని హృదయంలో శ్రద్ధను బలపరచడానికి లేదా ఆధ్యాత్మిక సత్యాలపై నమ్మకాన్ని కలిగించడానికి కొన్ని అలౌకిక సంఘటనలు జరుగవచ్చు. అయితే అవి గురుత్వానికి గుర్తులు కావు; గురువు మహిమ ఆయన జ్ఞానంలో, కరుణలో, ఆత్మసాక్షాత్కారంలో ఉంటుంది.

మహాపురుషులు ఎక్కడ నివసిస్తారో ఆ ప్రదేశమే తీర్థక్షేత్రంగా మారుతుంది. వారి ఉనికి వలన ఆ ప్రాంతం పవిత్రమవుతుంది. వారి దర్శనం, వారి మాట, వారి సత్సంగం అనేక మంది జీవితాలను మారుస్తాయి. గురువు తన వ్యక్తిత్వం ద్వారా కాకుండా, తన చైతన్య ప్రభావం ద్వారా ప్రపంచాన్ని ప్రభావితం చేస్తాడు.

సద్గురువు కరుణ, జ్ఞానం, పరమానందాల మహాసముద్రం. ఆయన సంసారసాగరంలో మునిగిపోతున్న జీవులకు జ్ఞానరూపమైన తాడును విసిరి ఒడ్డుకు చేర్చే నావికుడు. అజ్ఞానపు ఆవరణాన్ని తొలగించి, సాధారణ మనిషిలోని దివ్యత్వాన్ని వెలికితీస్తాడు. పాశవిక స్వభావాన్ని దైవస్వభావంగా మార్చి, దుఃఖాన్ని శాంతిగా, అశాంతిని ఆనందంగా, బంధనాన్ని విముక్తిగా పరివర్తనం చేస్తాడు.

గురువును కేవలం ఒక మనిషిగా మాత్రమే చూడకూడదు. ఎంత ఎక్కువగా ఆయనను కేవలం మానవుడిగా చూస్తామో, అంత ఎక్కువగా ఆయన అసలు మహిమను కోల్పోతాము. గురువులో దర్శించాల్సింది ఆయన శరీరం కాదు; ఆయన ద్వారా వ్యక్తమవుతున్న దివ్యచైతన్యం. అందుకే గురువును భక్తిపూర్వకంగా గౌరవించాలి, నమస్కరించాలి, ఆయన బోధలను హృదయంలో స్థాపించుకోవాలి.

గురువే ఈశ్వరుడు. ఆయన మాట పరమవాక్కు. ఆయనకు ఇక నేర్చుకోవలసింది ఏమీ ఉండదు, ఎందుకంటే ఆయన స్వయంగా సత్యంలో స్థితప్రజ్ఞుడు. గురువు సాన్నిధ్యం మాత్రమే సాధకునికి ప్రేరణను, ఉత్సాహాన్ని, ధైర్యాన్ని, అంతరంగ శాంతిని ప్రసాదిస్తుంది. ఆయన సత్సంగం స్వయంగా ఆధ్యాత్మిక విద్యాలయం. గ్రంథాలు జ్ఞానాన్ని ఇస్తాయి; కానీ జీవించిన జ్ఞానస్వరూపుడైన గురువు జీవనాన్ని మారుస్తాడు.

మనిషి నిజంగా నేర్చుకునేది మరో మనిషి నుంచే. అందుకే భగవంతుడు మానవ రూపాన్ని ఆశ్రయించి గురువుగా అవతరిస్తాడు. గురువు పరిపూర్ణ మానవత్వానికి ప్రత్యక్ష ఆదర్శం. మనం ఎలా జీవించాలో, ఎలా ఆలోచించాలో, ఎలా ప్రేమించాలో, ఎలా విముక్తి పొందాలో తన జీవితంతోనే చూపిస్తాడు. అలాంటి మహనీయుడే భక్తికి, పూజకు, శరణాగతికి యోగ్యుడు.

అయితే గురువు అంతిమ గమ్యం కాదు. గురువు మోక్షానికి ద్వారం. సత్-చిత్-ఆనంద స్వరూపమైన పరమసత్యంలోకి ప్రవేశించే ప్రవేశద్వారం ఆయన. కానీ ఆ ద్వారం గుండా నడిచి వెళ్లాల్సింది మాత్రం సాధకుడే. గురువు దారి చూపుతాడు, సందేహాలను నివృత్తి చేస్తాడు, ప్రేరణను అందిస్తాడు, అడ్డంకులను అధిగమించే శక్తిని ఇస్తాడు. అయితే సాధన, ఆచరణ, స్వీయపరిశీలన, ధ్యానం, వైరాగ్యం వంటి కర్తవ్యాలను నిర్వర్తించాల్సింది ముముక్షువే.

అందువల్ల గురువు అంటే కేవలం పూజించాల్సిన వ్యక్తి కాదు; మోక్షమార్గానికి జీవంతమైన ద్వారం. ఆయనను శరణాగతిలో ఆశ్రయించి, ఆయన బోధించిన మార్గాన్ని నిష్ఠతో ఆచరించినవారే ఆ ద్వారం దాటి పరమానంద స్వరూపమైన విముక్తిని అనుభవించగలరు.

The ancient Indian Rishis did not regard the Sun merely as a luminous star in the sky. They perceived Him as the supreme source of life-force, consciousness, wisdom, radiance, and the very foundation of all creation. According to the Vedas, the rays of the Sun are not merely physical light; they are divine energies that influence the human body, mind, the Pranamaya Kosha (vital energy sheath), and spiritual consciousness. For this reason, the Sun is revered as "Sahasramshu"—"the One with a thousand rays."

According to the Rishis, although countless rays emanate from the Sun, seven principal rays play a vital role in sustaining the cosmic order. In certain Vedantic, Puranic, and Yogic traditions, these seven divine ray-energies are symbolically represented by the Sapta Ashvas (Seven Horses) of Surya. Here, the word "Ashvas" does not merely refer to horses; it symbolizes the dynamic movement of the Sun, the wheel of time, and the flow of divine radiant energies. These are represented by the seven Vedic metres (Chhandas): Gayatri, Brihati, Ushnik, Jagati, Trishtubh, Anushtubh, and Pankti.

These seven horses symbolize the seven principal Vedic Chhandas. In the Vedic tradition, a Chhandas is not merely a poetic metre; it represents a distinct vibrational pattern of divine energy. Thus, the Sapta Ashvas signify the sacred movement through which the consciousness of the Sun radiates into creation as seven streams of divine power.


1. Sushumna Ray

The Sushumna Ray is regarded as the most sacred of the Sun's divine rays. It awakens wisdom and higher spiritual consciousness. Yogic scriptures explain that this ray stimulates the Sushumna Nadi, the central subtle energy channel running through the spine. The great sages taught that meditation, Gayatri Japa, and Surya Upasana enable seekers to receive the influence of this divine ray.


2. Harikesha Ray

The Harikesha Ray bestows life-force upon the plant kingdom. According to the Puranas, it nourishes vegetation, promotes greenery, flowering, and enhances the medicinal potency of herbs. It is the sustaining energy behind the continuous cycle of life on Earth.


3. Vishwakarma Ray

The Vishwakarma Ray represents the divine power behind creation, structure, order, and artistic expression. It is considered the source of creativity, innovation, and constructive intelligence. This ray inspires human beings with the ability to design, build, create, and invent, and is symbolically associated with the celestial architect, Lord Vishwakarma.


4. Vishwashrava Ray

The Vishwashrava Ray enhances memory, attentive listening, concentration, and the capacity to absorb Vedic knowledge. It is believed to bless students, scholars, and spiritual aspirants, making Surya worship especially beneficial for those engaged in learning and scriptural study.


5. Sampadvasu Ray

The Sampadvasu Ray grants prosperity, abundance, health, livelihood, and family well-being. It is regarded as the solar energy that nurtures the principle of Goddess Lakshmi. This is one of the reasons why householders, farmers, and merchants traditionally worship the Sun for prosperity and sustenance.


6. Arvavasu Ray

The Arvavasu Ray strengthens vital energy, courage, physical power, and the ability to perform one's duties. Yogic tradition describes this ray as a purifier of the Pranamaya Kosha. It is believed that offering Arghya to the rising Sun allows this life-enhancing energy to enter the body more readily.


7. Swarat Ray

The Swarat Ray is considered the supreme royal ray among the seven. It bestows leadership, self-confidence, determination, and divine authority. The Puranas describe it as the ray through which kings, sages, and great Yogis were empowered to uphold righteousness and work for the welfare of the world.




In Yoga, the Sun is not viewed merely as an external celestial body but also as the reflection of the inner Spiritual Sun. The phrase "Bhargo Devasya Dheemahi" in the Gayatri Mantra invites the seeker to meditate upon the divine effulgence of the Sun. The Rishis taught that this sacred radiance illumines the intellect through the seven divine rays, dispelling the darkness of ignorance. Therefore, Gayatri Upasana is regarded as one of the highest spiritual disciplines for receiving the transformative power of the Sun's divine rays.

From the Vedic perspective, the Sun is the visible manifestation of the Divine. His Sapta Ashvas symbolize the seven sacred powers that sustain the wheel of time, nourish all life, and illuminate the seeker's inner being. One who understands this profound symbolism realizes that Surya Upasana is not merely an act of worship but a great path toward Self-awakening.

The ancient Indian Rishis taught that by practising Surya Upasana, Gayatri Japa, Surya Namaskara, and by offering Arghya to the rising Sun, one can receive the blessings and transformative grace of these seven divine rays.
