🌷. తాత్పర్యం :
*దేహధారి దేహమునందు బాల్యము నుండి యౌవనమునకు, యౌవనము నుండి ముదుసలి ప్రాయమునకు క్రమముగా చను రీతి మరణానంతరాము వేరొక దేహమును పొందును. అట్టి మార్పు విషయనున ధీరుడైనవాడు మోహము నొందడు.*
🌷 భష్యము :
ప్రతిజీవుడు వ్యక్తిగత ఆత్మయైనందున కొంత సమయము బాలునిగా, మరికొంత సమయము యౌవనవంతునిగా, ఇంకొంత కాలము ముదుసలిగా వ్యక్తమగుచు నిరంతరమ దేహమార్పులకు లోనగుచుండును. అయినప్పటికిని ఆత్మ మాత్రము ఎట్టి మార్పులేక యుండును. అది చివరకు మరణసమయమున దేహము మార్చి వేరొక దేహమునకు ప్రయాణించును.
తదుపరి జన్మలో వేరొక దేహమును(భౌతికము గాని లేదా ఆధ్యాత్మికము గాని) పొందుట నిశ్చయమై యున్నందున భీష్మద్రోణుల మరణ విషయమున అర్జునుడు చింతించుటకు ఎట్టి కారణము లేదు. వారిని గూర్చి అతడు మిగుల వ్యాకుల పడియున్నాడు. కాని వారు తమ పాతదేహములను వదలి నూతనదేహములను పొందుట ద్వారా తిరిగి శక్తిని పొందగలరని అతడు ఆనందింపవలసియున్నది. జీవితమున మనుజుని కర్మ ననుసరించి వివిధములైన సుఖముల కొరకు లేదా దు:ఖముల కొరకు అట్టి దేహమార్పు కలుగుచుండును.
భీష్ముడు మరియు ద్రోణుడు ఇరువురును పవిత్రాత్ములై నందున తదుపరి జన్మమున నిక్కముగా ఆధ్యాత్మికదేహములను పొందనున్నారు లేదా కనీసము ఉన్నత భోగము కొరకై దేవతాశరీరములను పొందగలరు. ఈ రెండింటిలో ఏది జరిగినను చింతకు కారణమేదియును లేదు.
ఆత్మ, పరమాత్మ, భౌతిక ఆధ్యాత్మిక ప్రకృతులకు సంబంధించిన పరిపూర్ణ జ్ఞానమును సంపూర్ణముగా కలిగియున్నవాడు ధీరుడని పిలువబడును. అట్టివాడు దేహపరమైన మార్పుల యెడ మోహము నొందడు.
మాయావాద సిద్ధాంతము పలుకు ఆత్మ యొక్క అద్వయత్వము ఏమాత్రము అంగీకరింపలేము. ఆత్మ ముక్కలుగా ఖండింపబడలేదనుటయే దానికి ఆధారము. ఆ రీతి వ్యక్తిగతాత్మలుగా ఖండింపబడుట యనునది పరమాత్మను మార్పునొందు వానిగా లేదా ఖండింపబడువానిగా చేయును. అట్టి విషయము పరమాత్మ మార్పురహితమనెడి సిద్ధాంతమునకు వ్యతిరేకమై యున్నది.
భగవద్గీత యందు నిర్దారింపబడిన రీతిగా భగవానుని అంశలు నిత్యముగా(సనాతనులు) నిలిచియుండి క్షరులుగా పిలువబడును. అనగా వారు భౌతికప్రకృతికి పతనము చెందు లక్షణమును కలిగియుందురు. ఈ అంశలు నిత్యముగా తమ అంశరూపమున నిలిచి యుందురు. ముక్తిపొందిన పిమ్మటయు జీవుడు అంశగా మిగిలియుండును. కాని ముక్తి పొందిన పిమ్మట అతడు ఆనందము మరియు జ్ఞానములను గూడి దేవదేవునితో నిత్యజీవనమును పొందును.

kaumāraṁ yauvanaṁ jarā
tathā dehāntara-prāptir
dhīras tatra na muhyati
🌷 Translation :
*As the embodied soul continuously passes, in this body, from boyhood to youth to old age, the soul similarly passes into another body at death. A sober person is not bewildered by such a change.*
🌷 Purport :
Since every living entity is an individual soul, each is changing his body every moment, manifesting sometimes as a child, sometimes as a youth and sometimes as an old man. Yet the same spirit soul is there and does not undergo any change.
This individual soul finally changes the body at death and transmigrates to another body; and since it is sure to have another body in the next birth – either material or spiritual – there was no cause for lamentation by Arjuna on account of death, neither for Bhīṣma nor for Droṇa, for whom he was so much concerned. Rather, he should rejoice for their changing bodies from old to new ones, thereby rejuvenating their energy. Such changes of body account for varieties of enjoyment or suffering, according to one’s work in life. So Bhīṣma and Droṇa, being noble souls, were surely going to have spiritual bodies in the next life, or at least life in heavenly bodies for superior enjoyment of material existence. So, in either case, there was no cause of lamentation.
Any man who has perfect knowledge of the constitution of the individual soul, the Supersoul, and nature – both material and spiritual – is called a dhīra, or a most sober man. Such a man is never deluded by the change of bodies.

సోమరితనము మరియు నిద్ర యందు ఆనందము పొందువాడు నిక్కము తమోగుణమునందు స్థితుడైనట్టివాడే. అలాగుననే ఏ విధముగా వర్తించవలెనో, ఏ విధముగా వర్తించరాదో ఎరుగజాలనివాడు కూడా తమోగుణసహితుడే. అట్టివానికి ప్రతిదియు భ్రాంతియే.
ఆద్యంతములందును వానికి సుఖము లభింపదు. రజోగుణస్వభావునకు ఆదిలో బుద్భుదప్రాయమైన సుఖము మరియు అంత్యమున దుఃఖము లభించును, తమోగుణునికి మాత్రము ఆద్యంతములు రెండింటి యందును దుఖమే ప్రాప్తించును.

And that happiness which is blind to self-realization, which is delusion from beginning to end and which arises from sleep, laziness and illusion is said to be of the nature of ignorance.
🌹 Purport :
One who takes pleasure in laziness and in sleep is certainly in the mode of darkness, ignorance, and one who has no idea how to act and how not to act is also in the mode of ignorance. For the person in the mode of ignorance, everything is illusion.
There is no happiness either in the beginning or at the end. For the person in the mode of passion there might be some kind of ephemeral happiness in the beginning and at the end distress, but for the person in the mode of ignorance there is only distress both in the beginning and at the end.

It is often said that philosophy is not as useful as science, that science has made much progress and that philosophy is lagging behind, that science has its great utility, while philosophy has none. This complaint comes mostly from partial observers of the strides of science in making inventions of instruments that save us labour and time and thus make for comfort in our daily life.
But, this, of which man boasts so much, is applied science, and not science, as such. When we find man at a loss to know how to use the leisure provided to him by applied science, and how to find time to do what is really solacing to him in his life, where and of what use, we ask, is the great advance that science has made in knowledge, with all its herculean efforts?
What about the morality of man today, and what civilisation and culture is he endowed with? Where comes the pride of mere applied science when selfishness, greed and jealousy are its masters, when it threatens to make an end of man himself, and when it tightens the knot that binds man to the prison of misery raised by himself on the basis of belief in things that only tantalise him and then perish?

333. సన్యాసులు తాము అసత్య వ్యవహారములలో పాల్గోనరాదు. అలా జరిగిన అతడు బంధనాలలో చిక్కుకొనును. అందువలన అతడు తన మనస్సును ఎల్లప్పుడు నేనే బ్రహ్మాన్నని, అంత బ్రహ్మమేనని భావిస్తూ ఎల్లప్పుడు బ్రహ్మానంద స్థితిలో ఉంటూ, పాపాలకు, దుఃఖాలకు, మాయకు వ్యతిరేఖముగా జీవిస్తాడు. ఎందువలనంటే అవన్ని అతడు ముందే అజ్ఞానములో ఉన్నప్పుడు అనుభవించాడు.
334. బాహ్య వస్తు సముధాయముపై ఆధారపడి జీవించిన, వాటి చెడు ఫలితాలు ఇంకా ఇంకా పెరిగిపోతుంటాయి. ఈ విషయాన్ని గ్రహించి బాహ్య వస్తువులపై వ్యామోహమును తొలగించి, స్థిరముగా వ్యక్తి బ్రహ్మమును గూర్చి ధ్యానములో నిమగ్నుడై ఉండవలెను.
335. ఎపుడైతే బాహ్య ప్రపంచము మూసివేయబడుతుందో, మనస్సు ఆనందముతో నిండి ఉంటుంది. ఆ ఆనంద స్థితిలో మనస్సుకు బ్రహ్మానంద స్థితి లేక పరమాత్మ స్థితి అనుభవమవుతుంది. ఎపుడైతే ఖచ్చితముగా అట్టి అనుభవమవుతుందో అపుడు చావు పుట్టుకల గొలుసు తెగిపోతుంది. అందువలన విముక్తికి మొదటి మెట్టు బాహ్య ప్రపంచము వైపు తెరచి ఉన్న తలుపులను మూసివేయుట.

333. The Sannyasin should give up dwelling on the unreal, which causes bondage, and should always fix his thoughts on the Atman as "I myself am This". For the steadfastness in Brahman through the realisation of one’s identity with It gives rise to bliss and thoroughly removes the misery born of nescience, which one experiences (in the ignorant state).
334. The dwelling on external objects will only intensify its fruits, viz. furthering evil propensities, which grow worse and worse. Knowing this through discrimination, one should avoid external objects and constantly apply oneself to meditation on the Atman.
335. When the external world is shut out, the mind is cheerful, and cheerfulness of the mind brings on the vision of the Paramatman. When It is perfectly realised, the chain of birth and death is broken. Hence the shutting out of the external world is the steppingstone to Liberation.

సహకరించుట సామాన్య విషయము కాదు. సహకారమొక ఉత్తమ గుణము. దైనందిన జీవితమున సద్భావములకు, సత్కార్యము లకు, సహకరించుట సాధకునకు అత్యవసరము. దీనికి తరుల భావములను మన్నించగలుగు సద్బుద్ధి యుండవలెను.
ఇతరుల భావములను కొట్టివేయుట, ఇతరుల సత్కార్యములను తిరస్కరించుట, దూషించుట నిరుపయోగము. నీవట్లు చేసినచో నీకును అట్లే జరుగును. ఇట్టి సాధకులెందరో అధ్యాత్మిక సోదరత్వమని ఆరాటపడు చున్నారు. సోదరత్వమునకు సహకారము మొదటి లక్షణము.
సహకరించుట తెలియని వానికి సోదరత్వము లేదు. ప్రతి సాధారణ సాధకుడును తనతో నెవ్వరును సహకరించుట లేదని వాపోవుచుండును. దానికి కారణము తానే. తానితరులతో
సహకరించుట ముఖ్యము. ఇతరులు తనతో సహకరించు వలెననుట అహంకారము.
మొదటిది వినయమగు మార్గము. రెండవది అవిధేయ తను సూచించును. ఉట్టికెక్కలేనమ్మ, స్వర్గమునకు ప్రాకులాడుట యెట్లో, పెద్దలతో సహకరించని పిన్నలకు, దైవీభావమందుట అట్లే అసాధ్యము. ఇట్టి వారి ఆధ్యాత్మిక సోదరత్వ భావము కారుమేఘములతో కూడినదై ఉరుములు, మెరుపులు, గాలివానగ యుండును.

మరణం తీసుకెళ్ళక ముందే నిజమైన ఇంటిని కనిపెట్టాలి. అది కనిపెట్టడం అంత కష్టం కాదు. కారణం మరీ అంత దూరంలో లేదు. అది కనిపెట్టవచ్చు. కారణం, అది నీలోనే వుంది. నీ లోపలే వుంది. నువ్వు కొంత దూరం కూడా ప్రయాణించలేదు. దానికి ముందు నువ్వు అన్నీ వదిలిపెట్టి భౌతిక ప్రయాణాలన్నీ కట్టిపెట్టి నిశ్శబ్దంగా కూచో. మనసు గతానికేసి, భవిష్యత్తు కేసి సాగకుంటే ప్రయాణం ఆగిపోతుంది.

*🌻 286. 'వర్ణాశ్రమవిధాయినీ' -2🌻*
నాలుగు వర్ణములు కూడ సంఘశ్రేయస్సుకే పాటుపడుట, తద్వారా పరిణామము చెందుట శ్రీమాత ఏర్పరచిన విధానము. సంఘమునకు తమను తాము సమర్పించుకొను వున్ముఖతను బట్టి వీరు అభివృద్ధి చెందు చుందురు. పరిణామము చెందుచు దివ్యపథమున సాగుదురు. సృష్టి యజ్ఞమున వీరందరికిని భాగమున్నది. స్వార్థమున్నచోట బంధము, పరహిత మున్నచోట మోక్షము శ్రీమాత ఏర్పరచిన విధానము.
నాలుగు వర్ణములవలెనే మానవ జీవితమున నాలుగు ఆశ్రమములు కూడ కలవు. అవి వరుసగా బాల్యము, యౌవనము (కౌమారము), గృహస్థము, వానప్రస్థము. బాల్యమున క్రీడాసక్తి, కౌమారమున విద్యాసక్తి, గృహస్థాశ్రమమున కర్తవ్య నిర్వహణము, వానప్రస్థమున దైవచింతన అను నాలుగు స్థితులు ప్రతి జీవునికి గలవు. క్రీడాసక్తి అందరికిని సహజమేగాని, విద్యాసక్తి, సంఘమున బాధ్యతాయుత జీవనము, చరమదశలో తపస్సు జీవులు ప్రయత్నించి నిర్వర్తించు కొనవలెను.
అట్లు చేసినచో జీవుడు సన్మార్గమున పురోగతి చెందును. కర్మకాండను సక్రమముగ నిర్వర్తించు వారికే భక్తి, జ్ఞానము ఉదయించి ధ్యానమున నిలువగలరు. కర్మమందలి ధర్మమే భక్తిగ వికసించును. భక్తి జ్ఞానమునకు మార్గము చూపును. జ్ఞానము వైరాగ్యమునకు, ధ్యానమునకు మార్గము చూపును. ఒక జీవిత కాలమున ఈ నాలుగాశ్రమములను నిర్వర్తించుకొనుట వలన జీవుడు కృతకృత్యుడగును. ఇట్లు జీవోద్ధరణకై వర్ణాశ్రమ విధానమును శ్రీమాత ఏర్పరచెను.

*🌻 Varṇāśrama-vidhāyinī वर्णाश्रम-विधायिनी (286) 🌻*
Varṇāśrama means the order of life as expounded in Vedās. Veda-s classify people based upon their knowledge and capabilities. For example, soldiers are needed to protect borders of countries, agriculturists are needed to grow grains for consumption to make a living, traders are needed to buy requirements, and priests are needed to perform rituals.
Veda-s say that the classification is not based upon their birth, but on the ability of a person to perform certain duties. It would not be logical to expect a trader to protect borders effectively.
Therefore the inclination, capacity, knowledge and experience are the parameters by which a person is classified.
Such classifications are applicable only to the human race. Since She is not different from Veda-s and all the Veda-s originated from Her, it is said that She has made these classifications.
Having created the universe, She also created the Veda-s to effectively administer the universe. Veda-s lay down rules and regulations to be followed in a human life. Path shown by Veda-s is known as dharma or righteousness. If one trespasses prescribed righteousness by Veda-s, he gets afflicted by karma-s that leads to several transmigrations.
