41. శ్రద్దధానాయ భక్తాయ వినీతాయానసూయవే|
భూతేషు కృతమైత్రాయ శుశ్రూషాభిరతాయ చ|

తాత్పర్యము : శ్రద్ధాళువులకు, భగవద్భక్తులకు, వినయశీలులకు, ఇతరులను దోషదృష్టితో చూడని వారికిని, సకల ప్రాణులయెడ మైత్రీభావము గలవారికి, గురు సేవాతత్పరులకు ఈ బోధను అందించాలి.

వ్యాఖ్య : ప్రారంభంలో, భక్తి సేవ యొక్క అత్యున్నత స్థాయికి ఎవ్వరూ ఎదగలేరు. ఇక్కడ భక్త అంటే భక్తుడిగా మారడానికి సంస్కరణ ప్రక్రియలను అంగీకరించడానికి వెనుకాడని వ్యక్తి అని అర్థం. భగవంతుని భక్తుడిగా మారడానికి, ఒక ఆధ్యాత్మిక గురువును అంగీకరించాలి మరియు భక్తి సేవలో ఎలా పురోగతి సాధించాలో అతని నుండి విచారించాలి. ఒక భక్తుడికి సేవ చేయడం, ఒక నిర్దిష్ట లెక్కింపు పద్ధతి ప్రకారం పవిత్ర నామాన్ని జపించడం, భగవంతుడిని ఆరాధించడం, సాక్షాత్కరించిన వ్యక్తి నుండి శ్రీమద్-భాగవతం లేదా భగవద్గీతను వినడం మరియు భక్తికి భంగం లేని పవిత్ర స్థలంలో నివసించడం. భక్తి సేవలో పురోగతి సాధించడానికి అరవై నాలుగు భక్తి కార్యక్రమాలలో మొదటిది. ఈ ఐదు ప్రధాన కార్యాలను అంగీకరించిన వ్యక్తిని భక్తుడు అంటారు.

ఆధ్యాత్మిక గురువుకు అవసరమైన గౌరవం, మర్యాదను అందించడానికి సిద్ధంగా ఉండాలి. అతను తన తోటి సాధకుల పట్ల అనవసరంగా అసూయ పడకూడదు. బదులుగా, ఒక తోటి సాధకుడు కృష్ణ చైతన్యంలో మరింత జ్ఞానోదయం పొంది, అభివృద్ధి చెందినట్లయితే, ఒకరు అతన్ని దాదాపు ఆధ్యాత్మిక గురువుతో సమానంగా అంగీకరించాలి. అలా కృష్ణ చైతన్యంలో పురోగమించడం చూసి ఒకరు సంతోషించాలి. కృష్ణ చైతన్యాన్ని బోధించడంలో భక్తుడు ఎల్లప్పుడూ సాధారణ ప్రజల పట్ల చాలా దయతో ఉండాలి ఎందుకంటే మాయ బారి నుండి బయటపడటానికి అదే ఏకైక పరిష్కారం. ఇది నిజంగా మానవతా పని, ఎందుకంటే ఇది చాలా ఘోరంగా ప్రవర్తించే వ్యక్తులపై దయ చూపే మార్గం. శుశ్రుషాభిరతయ అనే పదం ఆధ్యాత్మిక గురువుకు సేవ చేయడంలో నిష్టగా నిమగ్నమయ్యే వ్యక్తిని సూచిస్తుంది. ఆధ్యాత్మిక గురువుకు వ్యక్తిగత సేవ మరియు అన్ని రకాల సుఖాలను అందించాలి. అలా చేసే ఒక భక్తుడు ఈ జ్ఞానాన్ని స్వీకరించడానికి మంచి అభ్యర్థిగా ఉంటాడు.

🌴 8. Entanglement in Fruitive Activities - 41 🌴

41. śraddadhānāya bhaktāya vinītāyānasūyave
bhūteṣu kṛta-maitrāya śuśrūṣābhiratāya ca

MEANING : Instruction should be given to the faithful devotee who is respectful to the spiritual master, nonenvious, friendly to all kinds of living entities and eager to render service with faith and sincerity.

PURPORT : In the beginning, no one can be elevated to the highest stage of devotional service. Here bhakta means one who does not hesitate to accept the reformatory processes for becoming a bhakta. In order to become a devotee of the Lord, one has to accept a spiritual master and inquire from him about how to progress in devotional service. To serve a devotee, to chant the holy name according to a certain counting method, to worship the Deity, to hear Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam or Bhagavad-gītā from a realized person and to live in a sacred place where devotional service is not disturbed are the first out of sixty-four devotional activities for making progress in devotional service. One who has accepted these five chief activities is called a devotee.

One must be prepared to offer the necessary respect and honor to the spiritual master. He should not be unnecessarily envious of his Godbrothers. Rather, if a Godbrother is more enlightened and advanced in Kṛṣṇa consciousness, one should accept him as almost equal to the spiritual master, and one should be happy to see such Godbrothers advance in Kṛṣṇa consciousness. A devotee should always be very kind to the general public in instructing Kṛṣṇa consciousness because that is the only solution for getting out of the clutches of māyā. That is really humanitarian work, for it is the way to show mercy to other people who need it very badly. The word śuśrūṣābhiratāya indicates a person who faithfully engages in serving the spiritual master. One should give personal service and all kinds of comforts to the spiritual master. A devotee who does so is also a bona fide candidate for taking this instruction.
