🌻 589. 'కామకోటికా' - 1 🌻
కామకోటి పీఠము నలంకరించి యున్నది శ్రీమాత అని అర్ధము. కోటి యనగా అత్యంత ప్రశస్తమైనది అని అర్థము. కామకోటి యనగా కోరికలలో అత్యుత్తమమైన, ప్రశస్తమైన కోరిక. శివ కామమును మించిన కామ మనగా తత్త్వమును గూర్చిన కామమే. తత్త్వ కామము ఇతర కామము లన్నియూ తీరిన వెనుకగాని కలుగని కామము. శ్రీమాత శివకామిని. శివుని తప్ప ఏమియూ కోరనిది. పార్వతిగ జనించిననూ సృష్టి వైభవమును కోరక శివునే కోరి శివుని చేరినది. శివునికై ఘోర తపస్సు చేసినది. ఇతరాకర్షణను గూర్చి కాముడు యత్నించిననూ ఆమె కాముని ఉపేక్షించి శివుని ప్రార్థించినది.

🌻 589. 'kamakotika' - 1 🌻
The meaning is that Śrīmāta adorns the Kāmakoṭi Pīṭha. The word "Koṭi" means the most excellent, the supreme. "Kāmakoṭi" refers to the highest and most auspicious desire - a desire that surpasses all others. Among all desires, the greatest is the desire for the ultimate truth—the Shiva Kāma, which is beyond worldly cravings. This Tattva Kāma (desire for truth) arises only after all other desires are fulfilled and transcended. Śrīmāta is Śiva Kāmini, the one who desires nothing but Śiva alone. Though she was born as Pārvatī, she did not seek the grandeur of creation but instead longed only for Śiva and ultimately attained him. She performed severe penance for Śiva. Even when Kāmadeva (the god of love) tried to distract her, she ignored him and remained steadfast in her prayer and devotion to Śiva.
