నిత్య సంస్కారములు లేనివారి యందు క్రమముగ మలినములు చేరును. కాలక్రమమున మలిన జీవనమును ప్రోత్సహించు బుద్ధి కూడ కలుగును. వీరినే మ్లేచ్ఛులు అందురు. మ్లేచ్ఛు లనగా మలినములందు యిచ్ఛ గలవారు. ఆధునిక యుగమున ఈ సంస్కారహీనతను స్పష్టముగ దర్శించ వచ్చును. శ్రీమద్రామాయణమున ఆదికవి వాల్మీకి మహర్షి అయోధ్య వాసులను, లంకావాసులను సరిపోల్చినాడు. అయోధ్యవాసులు సంస్కరింప బడిన శిరోజములు కలవారని, నిత్యమూ స్నానపానాదులను దైవారాధననూ గావించు ప్రశాంతచిత్తులుగా వర్ణించినాడు. లంకా వాసులు విరబోసికొనిన శిరోజములు కలవారని, రజస్తమోగుణ మాలిన్య ముతో జీవించువారని తెలిపినాడు.

Impurities gradually accumulate in those who do not have daily rituals. In the course of time, there will come a mindset to encourage impure living as well. These are the Mlechhas. Mlechchas mean those who are fond of filth. This lack of culture can be clearly seen in the modern age. In Srimadramayana, sage Valmiki compared the people of Ayodhya and the people of Lanka. He described the people of Ayodhya as having groomed hair, having a daily bath, doing daily worship of God and as calm souls. He said that the people of Lanka have loose hair and live with impurities of Rajasthamogunas.
