*తాత్పర్యము : అచట శుక్లము స్త్రీ శోణితముతో కలిసి, ఒక రాత్రి వరకు స్త్రీ గర్భమున ఆ దశలోనే యుండును. ఐదు రోజులలో అది నీటి బుడగ రూపమును పొందును. పది దినములలో రేగిపండు వలె గట్టిగా మారును. పిమ్మట అది మాంసపు ముద్దగా, లేక అండాకారమున (పక్షిగ్రుడ్డు వలె) పరిణతి చెందును.*

*02. kalalaṁ tv eka-rātreṇa pañca-rātreṇa budbudam*
*daśāhena tu karkandhūḥ peśy aṇḍaṁ vā tataḥ param*
*MEANING : On the first night, the sperm and ovum mix, and on the fifth night the mixture ferments into a bubble. On the tenth night it develops into a form like a plum, and after that, it gradually turns into a lump of flesh or an egg, as the case may be.*
*PURPORT : The body of the soul develops in four different ways according to its different sources. One kind of body, that of the trees and plants, sprouts from the earth; the second kind of body grows from perspiration, as with flies, germs and bugs; the third kind of body develops from eggs; and the fourth develops from an embryo. This verse indicates that after emulsification of the ovum and sperm, the body gradually develops either into a lump of flesh or into an egg, as the case may be. In the case of birds it develops into an egg, and in the case of animals and human beings it develops into a lump of flesh.*

*వ్యాపారవేత్త తన ఖాతా పుస్తకాల వద్దకు వెళ్లినట్లు మనం ప్రకృతిని సంప్రదించకూడదు. ప్రకృతిని మనం చేరుకోవాలని ప్రకృతి ఆశించినట్లే ప్రకృతిని సంప్రదించాలి. ఒక వ్యక్తి మన దగ్గరకు రావాలంటే, అతను ఎలా రావాలని మనం ఆశించవచ్చు? ఎవరైనా ఉద్యోగం కోసం మన దగ్గరకు వస్తే, అతను ఎలా రావాలని మనం ఆశిస్తాము? అతను సానుభూతితో, అర్థం చేసుకునే పద్ధతిలో, స్నేహపూర్వకంగా, మన అంచనాలకు తగిన విధంగా రావాలి.*

*We should not approach nature like a businessman approaching his account books. Nature has to be approached as nature would expect us to approach it. If a person is to approach us, how would we expect him to approach? If some person comes to us seeking work, how do we expect him to come? He should come in a sympathetic manner, in an understanding manner, in an amiable manner, and in a manner which is agreeable to our expectations.*
*This is how we would expect a person to approach us, and not in a way that is contrary to our essential nature. If he approaches us wrongly, then we are repelled by him, and we cannot bear his presence. If this is the human attitude, then this is nothing but nature’s attitude as well. It is nature that speaks through us. When we expect others to correspond to our nature, it is the natural disposition of creation which speaks through our personalities. Nature will not tolerate a person who tries to conquer her.*

*Āsana in this sūtra means the highest level of consciousness, svātantryaśakti discussed in earlier aphorisms. Generally, āsana means seat. In this aphorism, it does not mean the physical seat, but the seat of the mind, the power of Supreme Śakti, the seat on which his mind is placed. The word āsana is used here to emphasize the continued connectivity of his individual consciousness with svātantryaśakt, the independent autonomy of Śiva, held by Śaktī.*
