In the 9th Shiva Sutra "Swapno Vikalpaha," dreams and the freedom of thought are discussed. For ordinary people, dreams are mental recreations of sensory impressions gathered during the waking state. A yogi, who has achieved unity with Shiva consciousness, transcends these mental constructs and experiences divine consciousness beyond the illusions of both waking and dreaming states.
