In Sanatana Dharma, every sacred lunar day carries a profound spiritual message and divine significance. The holy Ashadha Shukla Dwadashi is especially auspicious as it brings together three sacred observances: Kurma Jayanti, commemorating the divine Kurma (Tortoise) incarnation of Lord Vishnu; Ramalakshmana Dwadashi, celebrating the ideals of righteousness, devotion, and brotherhood; and the grand Sri Vari Jyeshtabhishekam, one of the most magnificent festivals of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala.
🌊 Kurma Jayanti
Kurma Avatar, the second incarnation among the Dashavataras of Lord Vishnu, symbolizes stability, endurance, and unwavering support. During the great churning of the Ocean of Milk (Samudra Manthana), Lord Vishnu assumed the form of a giant tortoise and bore Mount Mandara on His back, ensuring that the cosmic endeavor could continue without interruption.
This divine incarnation teaches us a timeless lesson: true success comes through patience, inner stability, and perseverance. Just as the tortoise withdraws its limbs for protection, a spiritual seeker must learn to control the senses and cultivate inner awareness.
🏹 Ramalakshmana Dwadashi
This sacred day is also observed as Ramalakshmana Dwadashi, honoring the exemplary bond between Lord Rama and Lakshmana. Together they stand as eternal symbols of righteousness, loyalty, selfless service, and brotherly love.
Lakshmana devoted himself wholeheartedly to serving Lord Rama throughout the fourteen years of exile, becoming the ideal example of humility, sacrifice, and unwavering devotion. Their relationship inspires us to uphold family values, duty, discipline, and selfless service in our own lives.
Worshipping Lord Rama, Lakshmana, and Goddess Sita on this day is believed to bless devotees with harmony in the family, spiritual strength, righteous conduct, and divine grace.
✨ Sri Vari Jyeshtabhishekam
Among the many grand festivals celebrated at Tirumala, Sri Vari Jyeshtabhishekam holds a special place. This magnificent three-day celebration is marked by sacred abhishekams offered to Lord Venkateswara with great devotion and Vedic rituals.
Following the ceremonial ablutions, the Lord is adorned with magnificent Kavachams such as the Diamond Armour, Pearl Armour, and Golden Armour, revealing His resplendent divine form. Witnessing these sacred rituals is considered immensely auspicious and spiritually uplifting.
Jyeshtabhishekam not only glorifies the Lord's divine beauty but also reminds devotees to purify their hearts with faith, humility, and devotion.
🌼 The Spiritual Message of These Three Sacred Observances - Together, these three divine celebrations convey three invaluable principles for life,
Kurma Jayanti – Stability, patience, and mastery over the senses.
Ramalakshmana Dwadashi – Dharma, devotion, selfless service, and family values.
Sri Vari Jyeshtabhishekam – Purity, surrender, and divine grace.
By embracing these noble virtues, our lives become filled with peace, prosperity, spiritual wisdom, and the blessings of the Divine.
On the auspicious occasion of Kurma Jayanti, Ramalakshmana Dwadashi, and Sri Vari Jyeshtabhishekam, may the infinite grace of the Divine bless you and your family with good health, happiness, prosperity, righteous wisdom, spiritual growth, and every auspicious blessing.
🌺 Heartiest Wishes to Everyone! 🌺
