*తాత్పర్యము : అనాదియైన కాలము అంతటిని అంతము చేయును. సర్వమునకు జన్మనిచ్చెడు ఈ కాలము స్వయముగా ఆదిలేనిది. కాలమునకు వృద్ధి, నాశము మున్నగు వికారములు లేవు. అది తండ్రిద్వారా సంతానమును ఉత్పత్తిచేసి, సమస్త జగత్సృష్టిని కొనసాగించును. తన సంహారశక్తియగు మృత్యువుద్వారా యమధర్మరాజునకు కూడ మరణమును విధించి అతనిని అంతమొందించును.*

*45. so 'nanto 'nta-karaḥ kālo 'nādir ādi-kṛd avyayaḥ*
*janaṁ janena janayan mārayan mṛtyunāntakam*
*MEANING : The eternal time factor has no beginning and no end. It is the representative of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the maker of the criminal world. It brings about the end of the phenomenal world, it carries on the work of creation by bringing one individual into existence from another, and likewise it dissolves the universe by destroying even the lord of death, Yamarāja.*
*PURPORT : By the influence of eternal time, which is a representative of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the father begets a son, and the father dies by the influence of cruel death. But by time's influence, even the lord of cruel death is killed. In other words, all the demigods within the material world are temporary, like ourselves. Our lives last for one hundred years at the most, and similarly, although their lives may last for millions and billions of years, the demigods are not eternal. No one can live within this material world eternally. The phenomenal world is created, maintained and destroyed by the finger signal of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Therefore a devotee does not desire anything in this material world. A devotee desires only to serve the Supreme Personality of Godhead. This servitude exists eternally; the Lord exists eternally, His servitor exists eternally, and the service exists eternally.*

*తత్వశాస్త్రం ఆశ్చర్యంతో ప్రారంభమైందని చెబుతారు. సృష్టి యొక్క అద్భుతం మనిషి యొక్క కుతూహలాన్ని రేకెత్తిస్తుంది. దాని రహస్యం అతనిని ఆశ్చర్యపరుస్తుంది. ఈ ఆశ్చర్యం సహజంగానే విషయాల యొక్క లోతులను తెలుసుకునే ప్రయత్నానికి దారి తీస్తుంది, ఎందుకంటే మనిషి ఒక తెలియని అజ్ఞానమైన స్థితిలో ఉండిపోడు. జ్ఞానార్జనకు తప్పక అడుగులు వేస్తాడు. కాబట్టి ప్రపంచంలోని మనోహరమైన అద్భుతాల వెనుక ఉన్న సత్యాన్ని తెలుసుకోవాలనే ఆసక్తిని తప్పక కలిగి ఉంటాడు. అతను ఈ అద్భుతమైన ప్రపంచంలోని విషయాల గురించి పరిశోధిస్తాడు, ఊహిస్తాడు, వాదిస్తాడు మరియు చర్చిస్తాడు. అలా ఒక స్థిరమైన అభిప్రాయానికి వస్తాడు.*

*Philosophy is said to have begun with wonder. The marvel of creation evokes the admiration of man, and its mysteriousness excites his wonder; and this wonder naturally leads to a serious enquiry into the nature of things, for man is not content to rest in a state of awe based on ignorance, and is curious to know the truth behind the enthralling wonder of the world. He investigates, speculates, argues and discusses, and comes to a settled opinion of the nature of things in this wonderful world.*
*This becomes his philosophy. Modern man, however, seems to have stepped into the region of philosophy through doubt and sceptical thinking. Man commenced doubting the validity of authority and dogma no less than that of accepted traditional beliefs. Descartes started with doubting everything, even the validity of thought itself. Later, Kant, too, followed the critical method of enquiry in philosophy. Bradley was of the opinion that the chief need of philosophy is “a sceptical study of first principles.”*

*🌴. The knowledge which arises from the internal organ (the mind, the senses, intelligence and ego) is binding because it causes duality, delusion, egoism, attachments and bondage to samsara. 🌴*
*On the contrary, a purified mind is the one where the sensory influence is at the minimal level. A purified mind is tamed in such a way that it is able to differentiate between what is permanent and what is impermanent. This sūtra says that it is only the knowledge that differentiates between permanency (God) and impermanency (material objects) causes bondage. This differentiation is caused by māya or illusion. The Reality is that the Lord alone is permanent and everything else is impermanent. If this fact is understood, the mind gets released from the clutches of bondage.*
