గజేంద్రుడు సృష్టి మూలము, ఆత్మమూలమునగు తత్త్వము నారాధించెను. ఆ తత్త్వమున కధిదేవత అర్ధనారీ స్వరూపము. అందు శివుడు స్థాణువు. స్థిరముగ నుండవాడు, శ్రీమాత అతని విశ్వచేతన. ఆమె కతడు ఆధారము. ఆమె సృష్టి కాధారము. ఆమె సర్వాత్మిక కూడ. అదే స్థితి యందున్న శ్రీ మహా విష్ణువునకు ఆమె కలిగించిన ప్రేరణ వలన శ్రీ మహా విష్ణువు అకస్మాత్తుగ హుటాహుటిని బయలుదేరి గజేంద్రుని రక్షించెను. శ్రీమాతయే శ్రీ మహా విష్ణువునందు గల సంకల్పశక్తి. ఆమె ప్రేరణ మూలమున తన పరివారమునకు గాని, తన భార్యకు గాని తెలుపకయే హుటాహుటిని గజేంద్ర రక్షణమునకు పూనుకొనెను.
