🌻. దశపాప హర దశమి - దసరా అంతరార్ధం 🌻

దేవి ప్రసీద, పరిపాలయ, నోరి భీతేః నిత్యం, యదా సుర వధా దధునైవ , సద్యః
పాపాని సర్వ జగతాం ప్రశమం నయాశు - ఉత్పాతపాక జనితారిశ్చ,మహోప సర్గాన్

ఓ దేవి ! రాక్షసులను చంపి నువ్వు మమ్మల్ని ఎలా కాపాడావో, అలాగే మమ్మల్ని ఎప్పుడూ శత్రు భయం నుంచి కాపాడు. అన్ని కాలాల్లోని పాపాలను, ఉత్పాతాల ద్వారా సూచింపబడి, అతి ఘోరంగా మారే ఉత్పాతాల విపత్తులను త్వరగా శమింప జేయి.


🍀. దసరా అంటే ఏమిటి ? మనలో ఉన్న పంచ జ్ఞాన, పంచ కర్మేన్ద్రియాలైన దశ ఇంద్రియాలు- దోపిడీ, హింస, స్త్రీ వ్యామోహం, లోభం, వంచన, పరుష వాక్కు, అసత్యం, పరనింద, చాడీ చెప్పటం, అధికార దుర్వినియోగం అనే దశ అంటే పది పాపపు పనులు చేస్తాయి. ఈ పది రకాల పాపాలు హరి౦చటానికి జగన్మాతను కొలిచే పండగనే ’’దశ హర‘’ అంటారు. అదే దసరా గా మారింది. బాల్య, యవ్వన, కౌమార వార్ధక్య౦ 4 దశలు దాటి పోవాలంటే జన్మ రాహిత్య స్థితి పొందాలి. ఈ జన్మ రాహిత్య స్థితిని పొందటానికి , మానవ జన్మల దశలను హరి౦చ మని శ్రీ దేవిని నవరాత్రులు ఆరాధించటమే దశహరా – దసరా . 🍀


🔱. చెడుపై మంచి సాధించిన విజయమే విజయదశమి. ఈ రోజును దశపాప హర దశమి అని కూడా అంటారు. అవి పరుషంగా మాట్లాడటం, అబద్ధాలు చెప్పటం, అసంబద్ధమైన మాటలు మాట్లాడటం, సమాజం వినలేని మాటలు మాట్లాడటం – ఈ నాలుగు రకాల పాపాలు మాటల ద్వారా చేసేవి. తనది కాని ధనము, వస్తువులపై వ్యామోహం కలిగి ఉండటం, ఇతరులకు ఇబ్బంది కలిగించే పనులను చేయటం, ఇతరులకు చెడు చేయాలనుకోవడం ఈ మూడు మానసికంగా చేసే పాపాలు. అర్హత లేని వానికి దానాన్ని ఇవ్వడం, శాస్త్రము ఒప్పని హింసను చేయడం, పర స్త్రీని లేదా పురుషున్ని స్వీకరించడం ఈ మూడు శరీరంతో చేసే పాపాలు. మొత్తం ఇవి పది పాపాలు. ఈ పది పాపాల నుండి విముక్తిని ప్రసాదించి, మనందరి జీవితాలు సుఖసంతోషాలతో, సకల ఐశ్వర్యాలతో ఉండేలా చేయమని దుర్గామాతను వేడుకుంటూ అందరికి దసరా - దశపాప హర దశమి శుభాకాంక్షలు. 🔱

🕉. The human being is created by nature for almost eight hours' hard work. By and by, as civilization has progressed and technology has taken over much of human labor, we don't have anything that requires hard work, and that has become a problem. 🕉

In the past, people suffered because they didn't have enough energy to cope. Now we are suffering from more energy than can be used. That can become restlessness, neurosis, madness. If energy is there and not used rightly it goes sour, becomes bitter. We create energy every day, and it has to be used every day. You cannot accumulate it; you cannot be a miser about it. In the past, people were working hard as hunters and farmers. By and by that kind of work has disappeared, and societies are more affluent and have more and more energy; so restlessness is bound to be there. Hence the Americans are the most restless people in the world, and part of it is that they are the most affluent society.

We should drop the idea of utility-because that is of the past. When energy was less and work was more, utility had meaning. Now it is no longer a value. So find ways to use your energy games, jogging, running--and delight in it. Use the energy, and then you will feel very calm. That calmness will be totally different from a forced stillness. You can force yourself, you can have energy and repress it, but you are sitting on a volcano, and there is a constant trembling inside. The more energy you use, the more fresh energy will become available.

అగ్నిదేవుడు చెప్పెను :- సంపాతాహుతిచేత పవిత్రలను తడిపి వాటి అధివాసనము చేయవలెను. నృసింహ మంత్రమును జపించి, వాటిని అభిమంత్రించి, అస్త్రమంత్రముచే (అస్త్రాయ ఫట్‌ ) వాటిని సురక్షితములు చేయవలెను. పవిత్రలకు వస్త్రములు చుట్టి ఉండగనే పాత్రములో ఉంచి వాటిని అభిమంత్రించవలెను. బిల్వాదిసంసృష్ట మైన జలముతో, మంత్రోచ్చారణపూర్వకముగ వాటిని ఒకటి రెండు సార్లు ప్రోక్షించవలెను.

కుంభపాత్రమునందు పవిత్రలను ఉంచి, గురువు, వాటి రక్షణనిమిత్తము, ఆ పాత్రను తూర్పున సంకర్షణమంత్రముతో దంతచాష్ఠమును, ఉసరికాయను, దక్షిణమున ప్రద్యుమ్నమంత్రముతో భస్మమును, తిలలను, పశ్చిమమున నారాయణమంత్రముతో కుశోదకమును ఉంచవలెను. పిమ్మట అగ్నేయమునందు హృదయమంత్రముతో కుంకుమమును, గోరోచనమును, ఈశాన్యదిక్కు నందు శిరోమంత్రముతో ధూపమును, నైరృతి దిక్కునందు శిఖామంత్రముతో దివ్యమూలపుష్పములను, వాయవ్యదిక్కునందు కవచమంత్రముతో చందన-జల-అక్షత-దధి-దూర్వలను దొన్నెలో ఉంచవలెను. మండపమును త్రిసూత్రముతో చుట్టి మరల అన్ని ప్రక్కల ఆవాలు చల్లవలెను.

ఏ క్రమమున దేవతల పూజ జరిగినదో ఆ క్రమముననే ఆ దేవతలకు, వారి వారి మంత్రముల నుచ్చరించుచు గంధపవిత్రము లర్పింపవలెను. ద్వారపాలాదులకు గూడ నామమంత్రములతో గంధపవిత్రము లర్పింపవలెను.

🌻 Mode of consecration of an image - 1 🌻

Agni said:

1. Having sprinkled with the residual offering one should perform consecration of the sacred, subtle, and chanted mystic formulae of the manlion. form.

2-3. Consecration of the vessels covered by the clothes should be done with mystic syllables. The vessels on which water is sprinkled once or twice with bel (leaves), should be placed near the pitcher. Having pronounced the protective spell the priest should place stick for (cleansing) the teeth and myrabolan on the east with (the recitation of syllable for) Saṅkarṣaṇa.

4. The ashes, sesamum, and cowdung-mixed earth (should be consecrated)on the south with (syllable for) Pradyumna, in the west with (that of) Aniruddha and in the north with that of Nārāyaṇa.

5. Then the waters along with the kuśa grass (should be assigned) to the south-east with the heart, the saffron and pigment on the north-east with the head, the incense on the southwest with the tuft.

6. Then the principal beautiful flowers (should be assigned) to the north-west with the armour. The sandal, water, unbroken rice, curd, and dūrvā (grass) are placed in small cups (made of leaves).

7-8. The chamber having been encircled by three threads,. the articles kept ready should be thrown again. Then in one’s. own order of adoration one should offer perfumes and (other) articles, at the foot of the gate or at the pitcher of Viṣṇu with sacred syllables. One should then worship the radiant, beautiful form of Viṣṇu capable of destroying all sins.

9. “I conceive on thy limbs, the deity who grants all coveted things”. After having worshipped him by (showing) the incense, lamp etc., one should approach the gate-way.

10. One should offer pavitra[1] along with perfumes, flowers and unbroken grains. The radiant pavitra of Viṣṇu (is capable) of destroying all sins.

11. I hold on my limbs (the pavitra) for the accomplishment of virtue, desire and worldly benefits. The pavitra is-offered to the other attendant deities and to the preceptor (seated) on a seat.

పూజ్యురాలా! తైజస (రాజస) అహంకారమున వికారము కలుగుటచే దానినుండి బుద్ధితత్ప్వము ఉత్పన్నమయ్యెను. వస్తువులను స్ఫురింపజేయు విజ్ఞానము ఇంద్రియ వ్యాపారములకు సహాయపడుట అనగా పదార్ధముల విశేషజ్ఞానము కలిగించుట అనునవి ఈ బుద్ధియొక్క కార్యములు.

ఈ తైజసాహంకారం వలన పుట్టేదే బుద్ధి తత్వం. ఈ బుద్ధి తత్వము వలన కలిగేది ద్రవ్య స్పురణ విజ్ఞ్యానం. ఇలాంటి దాని వలననే అన్ని ఇంద్రియములూ ఏర్పడి పని చేస్తాయి. బుద్ధి లేకపోతే ఇంద్రియములు చేసినా తెలియదు. కన్ను చూసినా, బుద్ధికీ మనసుకూ అనుసంధానం లేనప్పుడు ఎదురుగా ఉన్నా గమనించలేము. బుద్ధినీ మనసునూ పరమాత్మ యందు లగ్నం చేస్తే ఏమి చూసినా మనకి అంటదు. అందుకే విద్యాతురానాం నరుచిః నపక్వం అంటారు. రాజసాహంకారం వలన అనుగ్రహించబడి, సాత్వికాహం కారము వలన పుట్టినవి ఇంద్రియాలు.

*పాపాని సర్వ జగతాం ప్రశమం నయాశు - ఉత్పాతపాక జనితారిశ్చ,మహోప సర్గాన్*

*ఓ దేవి ! రాక్షసులను చంపి నువ్వు మమ్మల్ని ఎలా కాపాడావో, అలాగే మమ్మల్ని ఎప్పుడూ శత్రు భయం నుంచి కాపాడు. అన్ని కాలాల్లోని పాపాలను, ఉత్పాతాల ద్వారా సూచింపబడి, అతి ఘోరంగా మారే ఉత్పాతాల విపత్తులను త్వరగా శమింప జేయి.*

*🍀. దసరా అంటే ఏమిటి ? మనలో ఉన్న పంచ జ్ఞాన, పంచ కర్మేన్ద్రియాలైన దశ ఇంద్రియాలు- దోపిడీ, హింస, స్త్రీ వ్యామోహం, లోభం, వంచన, పరుష వాక్కు, అసత్యం, పరనింద, చాడీ చెప్పటం, అధికార దుర్వినియోగం అనే దశ అంటే పది పాపపు పనులు చేస్తాయి. ఈ పది రకాల పాపాలు హరి౦చటానికి జగన్మాతను కొలిచే పండగనే ’’దశ హర‘’ అంటారు. అదే దసరా గా మారింది. బాల్య, యవ్వన, కౌమార వార్ధక్య౦ 4 దశలు దాటి పోవాలంటే జన్మ రాహిత్య స్థితి పొందాలి. ఈ జన్మ రాహిత్య స్థితిని పొందటానికి , మానవ జన్మల దశలను హరి౦చ మని శ్రీ దేవిని నవరాత్రులు ఆరాధించటమే దశహరా – దసరా . 🍀*

*🔱. చెడుపై మంచి సాధించిన విజయమే విజయదశమి. ఈ రోజును దశపాప హర దశమి అని కూడా అంటారు. అవి పరుషంగా మాట్లాడటం, అబద్ధాలు చెప్పటం, అసంబద్ధమైన మాటలు మాట్లాడటం, సమాజం వినలేని మాటలు మాట్లాడటం – ఈ నాలుగు రకాల పాపాలు మాటల ద్వారా చేసేవి. తనది కాని ధనము, వస్తువులపై వ్యామోహం కలిగి ఉండటం, ఇతరులకు ఇబ్బంది కలిగించే పనులను చేయటం, ఇతరులకు చెడు చేయాలనుకోవడం ఈ మూడు మానసికంగా చేసే పాపాలు. అర్హత లేని వానికి దానాన్ని ఇవ్వడం, శాస్త్రము ఒప్పని హింసను చేయడం, పర స్త్రీని లేదా పురుషున్ని స్వీకరించడం ఈ మూడు శరీరంతో చేసే పాపాలు. మొత్తం ఇవి పది పాపాలు. ఈ పది పాపాల నుండి విముక్తిని ప్రసాదించి, మనందరి జీవితాలు సుఖసంతోషాలతో, సకల ఐశ్వర్యాలతో ఉండేలా చేయమని దుర్గామాతను వేడుకుంటూ అందరికి దసరా - దశపాప హర దశమి శుభాకాంక్షలు. 🔱*

*పూజ్యురాలా! తైజస (రాజస) అహంకారమున వికారము కలుగుటచే దానినుండి బుద్ధితత్ప్వము ఉత్పన్నమయ్యెను. వస్తువులను స్ఫురింపజేయు విజ్ఞానము ఇంద్రియ వ్యాపారములకు సహాయపడుట అనగా పదార్ధముల విశేషజ్ఞానము కలిగించుట అనునవి ఈ బుద్ధియొక్క కార్యములు.*

*ఈ తైజసాహంకారం వలన పుట్టేదే బుద్ధి తత్వం. ఈ బుద్ధి తత్వము వలన కలిగేది ద్రవ్య స్పురణ విజ్ఞ్యానం. ఇలాంటి దాని వలననే అన్ని ఇంద్రియములూ ఏర్పడి పని చేస్తాయి. బుద్ధి లేకపోతే ఇంద్రియములు చేసినా తెలియదు. కన్ను చూసినా, బుద్ధికీ మనసుకూ అనుసంధానం లేనప్పుడు ఎదురుగా ఉన్నా గమనించలేము. బుద్ధినీ మనసునూ పరమాత్మ యందు లగ్నం చేస్తే ఏమి చూసినా మనకి అంటదు. అందుకే విద్యాతురానాం నరుచిః నపక్వం అంటారు. రాజసాహంకారం వలన అనుగ్రహించబడి, సాత్వికాహం కారము వలన పుట్టినవి ఇంద్రియాలు.*

అగ్నిదేవుడు చెప్పెను :- సంపాతాహుతిచేత పవిత్రలను తడిపి వాటి అధివాసనము చేయవలెను. నృసింహ మంత్రమును జపించి, వాటిని అభిమంత్రించి, అస్త్రమంత్రముచే (అస్త్రాయ ఫట్‌ ) వాటిని సురక్షితములు చేయవలెను. పవిత్రలకు వస్త్రములు చుట్టి ఉండగనే పాత్రములో ఉంచి వాటిని అభిమంత్రించవలెను. బిల్వాదిసంసృష్ట మైన జలముతో, మంత్రోచ్చారణపూర్వకముగ వాటిని ఒకటి రెండు సార్లు ప్రోక్షించవలెను. 

కుంభపాత్రమునందు పవిత్రలను ఉంచి, గురువు, వాటి రక్షణనిమిత్తము, ఆ పాత్రను తూర్పున సంకర్షణమంత్రముతో దంతచాష్ఠమును, ఉసరికాయను, దక్షిణమున ప్రద్యుమ్నమంత్రముతో భస్మమును, తిలలను, పశ్చిమమున నారాయణమంత్రముతో కుశోదకమును ఉంచవలెను. పిమ్మట అగ్నేయమునందు హృదయమంత్రముతో కుంకుమమును, గోరోచనమును, ఈశాన్యదిక్కు నందు శిరోమంత్రముతో ధూపమును, నైరృతి దిక్కునందు శిఖామంత్రముతో దివ్యమూలపుష్పములను, వాయవ్యదిక్కునందు కవచమంత్రముతో చందన-జల-అక్షత-దధి-దూర్వలను దొన్నెలో ఉంచవలెను. మండపమును త్రిసూత్రముతో చుట్టి మరల అన్ని ప్రక్కల ఆవాలు చల్లవలెను.

ఏ క్రమమున దేవతల పూజ జరిగినదో ఆ క్రమముననే ఆ దేవతలకు, వారి వారి మంత్రముల నుచ్చరించుచు గంధపవిత్రము లర్పింపవలెను. ద్వారపాలాదులకు గూడ నామమంత్రములతో గంధపవిత్రము లర్పింపవలెను.

*🌻 Mode of consecration of an image - 1 🌻*

Agni said:

1. Having sprinkled with the residual offering one should perform consecration of the sacred, subtle, and chanted mystic formulae of the manlion. form.

2-3. Consecration of the vessels covered by the clothes should be done with mystic syllables. The vessels on which water is sprinkled once or twice with bel (leaves), should be placed near the pitcher. Having pronounced the protective spell the priest should place stick for (cleansing) the teeth and myrabolan on the east with (the recitation of syllable for) Saṅkarṣaṇa.

4. The ashes, sesamum, and cowdung-mixed earth (should be consecrated)on the south with (syllable for) Pradyumna, in the west with (that of) Aniruddha and in the north with that of Nārāyaṇa.

5. Then the waters along with the kuśa grass (should be assigned) to the south-east with the heart, the saffron and pigment on the north-east with the head, the incense on the southwest with the tuft.

6. Then the principal beautiful flowers (should be assigned) to the north-west with the armour. The sandal, water, unbroken rice, curd, and dūrvā (grass) are placed in small cups (made of leaves).

7-8. The chamber having been encircled by three threads,. the articles kept ready should be thrown again. Then in one’s. own order of adoration one should offer perfumes and (other) articles, at the foot of the gate or at the pitcher of Viṣṇu with sacred syllables. One should then worship the radiant, beautiful form of Viṣṇu capable of destroying all sins.

9. “I conceive on thy limbs, the deity who grants all coveted things”. After having worshipped him by (showing) the incense, lamp etc., one should approach the gate-way.

10. One should offer pavitra[1] along with perfumes, flowers and unbroken grains. The radiant pavitra of Viṣṇu (is capable) of destroying all sins.

11. I hold on my limbs (the pavitra) for the accomplishment of virtue, desire and worldly benefits. The pavitra is-offered to the other attendant deities and to the preceptor (seated) on a seat.

*🕉. మానవుడు దాదాపు ఎనిమిది గంటల శ్రమతో ప్రకృతిచే సృష్టించబడ్డాడు. క్రమంగా, నాగరికత పురోగమిస్తున్నందున, సాంకేతికత మానవ శ్రమను ఎక్కువగా స్వాధీనం చేసుకున్నందున, మనకు కష్టపడి పనిచేయాల్సిన అవసరం ఏమీ లేదు. అది ఇప్పడు సమస్యగా మారింది. 🕉*

*🕉. The human being is created by nature for almost eight hours' hard work. By and by, as civilization has progressed and technology has taken over much of human labor, we don't have anything that requires hard work, and that has become a problem. 🕉*

 

*In the past, people suffered because they didn't have enough energy to cope. Now we are suffering from more energy than can be used. That can become restlessness, neurosis, madness. If energy is there and not used rightly it goes sour, becomes bitter. We create energy every day, and it has to be used every day. You cannot accumulate it; you cannot be a miser about it. In the past, people were working hard as hunters and farmers. By and by that kind of work has disappeared, and societies are more affluent and have more and more energy; so restlessness is bound to be there. Hence the Americans are the most restless people in the world, and part of it is that they are the most affluent society.*

*We should drop the idea of utility-because that is of the past. When energy was less and work was more, utility had meaning. Now it is no longer a value. So find ways to use your energy games, jogging, running--and delight in it. Use the energy, and then you will feel very calm. That calmness will be totally different from a forced stillness. You can force yourself, you can have energy and repress it, but you are sitting on a volcano, and there is a constant trembling inside. The more energy you use, the more fresh energy will become available.*

🌻 8. మన తలల పైన ఒక మర్మం వేలాడుతూ ఉంటుంది🌻

తత్వశాస్త్రం అనేది సంఘటనల వెనుక ఉన్న కారణాల అధ్యయనం, లేదా, ప్రభావాలకు గల కారణాల అధ్యయనం అని చెప్పవచ్చు. లేదా దాని అర్థాన్ని మరింత ముందుకు తీసుకువెళ్లామంటే, ఇది సమస్త విషయాల యొక్క అంతిమ కారణాన్ని అధ్యయనం చేయడం అని చెప్పవచ్చు. ఇదీ తత్వశాస్త్రం అంటే. అసలు ఏదైనా ఎందుకు మనుగడలో ఉండాలి? అది ఆ విధంగా గానే ఎందుకు ప్రవర్తించాలి? విజ్ఞాన శాస్త్రానికి తత్వ శాస్త్రానికి ఉన్న తేడా ఏమిటంటే విజ్ఞాన శాస్త్రం విషయాలు ఎలా జరుగుతాయో చెప్తుంది కానీ ఎందుకు జరుగుతుందో చెప్పదు. అది విజ్ఞాన శాస్త్రం పరిధి లోకి రాదు. తాత్విక శాస్త్రం ఏదైనా విషయం యొక్క కారణాన్ని పరిశోధిస్తుంది. ఏదైనా విషయం యొక్క మూలకారణాన్ని తెలుసుకోలేకపోతే, మనిషికి సంతృప్తి ఉండదు.

మనకి ఎప్పటికీ అర్థం కాని రహస్యం ఏమిటంటే సృష్టిలో ప్రతి వస్తువు ఒక నిర్దుష్టమైన విధానంలో ప్రవర్తించడానికి గల కారణం ఏంటి? వివిధ రకాల సామాజిక తత్వాలు మానవ ప్రవర్తన యొక్క స్వభావాన్ని అధ్యయనం చేస్తాయి. సామాజిక శాస్త్రం, మళ్ళీ, మానవ ప్రవర్తన యొక్క కారణం కాకుండా ఎలా ప్రవర్తిస్తారు అనే దానికే పరిమితం అవుతుంది. 'ప్రజలు తమలో తాము ఎలా ప్రవర్తిస్తారు? వారు మానవ సమాజంలో ఎలా ప్రవర్తిస్తారు?' అని అడుగుతుంది. కానీ మనలో ఒక భిన్నమైన దృక్కోణం ఉంది. ఇది వేసే ప్రశ్న ఏమిటంటే: 'ఈ వ్యక్తులు ఎందుకు ఈ విధంగా ప్రవర్తిస్తారు?' అని. “ప్రజలు ఎందుకు అలా ప్రవర్తిస్తున్నారో నాకు తెలియదు” అని మనం తరచుగా అంటుంటాం.

🌻 8. There is a Mystery Hanging Above Our Heads🌻

Philosophy is a study of causes behind events, or, rather, the causes of effects, or, to push it further, it may be said to be a study of the ultimate cause of things. This is the subject of philosophy. Why should there be anything at all, and why should it behave the way it behaves? It is often said that science is distinguished from philosophy in this: that, while science can tell the ‘how' of things, it cannot explain the ‘why' of things. That is not its field. The ‘why' of anything is investigated into by the study known as philosophy. Unless the question as to the ‘why' of a thing is answered from within oneself, one cannot feel finally contented.

There is a mystery hanging above our heads, and everything seems to be a mist before us. Why should anything conduct itself or behave in the way it does? Social philosophies of different types study the nature of human behaviour. The science of sociology, again, confines itself to the ‘how' rather than the ‘why' of human behaviour. “How do people conduct themselves, and how do they behave in human society?” it asks. But we have a different faculty within us which puts the question: “Why do these people behave in this manner?” We often say, “I do not know why people are behaving in that way.”

🌻. తారకాసుర వధ - 4 🌻

ఆ యుధ్ధములో కొందరు రాక్షసులు భయముతో చేతులు జోడించిరి. వేలాది రాక్షసులు తెగిన అవయవములు గలవారై మరణించిరి(35). కొందరు రాక్షసులు అపుడు చేతులు జోడించి 'రక్షించుము, రక్షించుము' అని పలుకుచూ దిక్కుతోచక కుమారుని శరణు గోరిరి (36). కొందరు అచటనే సంహరింపబడగా, మరికొందరు పారిపోయిరి. పారిపోవు వారిని దేవతలు, గణములు తన్ని పీడించిరి (37). ఆశలు భగ్నము కాగా, దైన్యమును పొందియున్న ఆ రాక్షసులు వేలాది మంది బ్రతుకు తీపితో పారిపోయి పాతాళములో ప్రవేశించిరి (38).

ఓ మహర్షీ! ఈ విధముగా రాక్షససైన్యమంతయూ చెల్లాచెదరయ్యెను. గణములకు, దేవతకు భయపడి అపుడచట ఒక్కరైననూ నిలబడలేదు (39). ఆ దుర్మార్గుడు సంహరింపబడగానే అంతయూ నిష్కంటకమాయెను. ఇంద్రాది దేవతలందరు అపుడు సుఖించిరి(40). ఈ విదముగా కుమారుడు విజయమును పొందెను. సమస్త దేవతలు, మరియు ముల్లోకములు ఏకకాలములో మహానందమును పొందెను (41). అపుడు శివుడు కూడా కార్తికుని ఆ విజయమునెరింగి గణములతో కూడి ప్రియురాలితో సహ ఆనందముతో అచటకు వచ్చెను (42).

పార్వతి ప్రేమతో నిండిన హృదయము గలదై సూర్యునితో సమమగు తేజజస్సు గల తన పుత్రుడగు కుమారుని తన ఒడిలో కూర్చుండబెట్టుకొని మిక్కిలి ప్రీతితో లాలించెను (43). అపుడు హిమవంతుడు తన పుత్రులతో, బంధువులతో, అనుచరులతో కూడి వచ్చి శంభుని, పార్వతిని, గుహుని స్తుతించెను (44).

35. Some of the Asuras who were afraid joined their palms in reverence. In the battle the limbs of many Asuras were chopped off and severed. Thousands were killed too.

36. Some of the Asuras shrieking “O save O save” with palms joined in reverence sought refuge in Kumāra.

37. Numberless Asuras were killed. Many fled. The fleeing Asuras were beaten and harassed by the gods and the Gaṇas.

38. Thousands of them fled to Pātāla for their life. Those who tried to flee were disappointed and put to distress.

39. O great sage, thus the entire army of the Asuras disappeared. None dared to remain there for fear of the gods and the Gaṇas.

40. When the wicked Asura was killed, the whole universe became freed of thorns, freed from the danger and nuisance of the Asuras. Indra and other gods became happy.

41. Thus when Kumāra came out victorious the gods were happy. The three worlds attained great pleasure.

42. On knowing about the victory of Kārttikeya, Śiva came there joyously with his beloved and the Gaṇas.

43. He took his son on his lap and fondled him with pleasure. Pārvatī in her flutter of affection took Kumāra, resplendent as the sun, on her lap and fondled him with pleasure.

44. Then Himavat came there along with his sons, kinsmen and servants. He eulogised Śiva and Guha.

'బృహి - వృద్ధౌ' అను ధాతువునుండి బృంహతి - వృద్ధినందును, చాల పెద్దదిగనుండును, బృంహయతి - వృద్ధినందిచును అను అర్థములలో 'బ్రహ్మ' అను శబ్దము నిష్పన్నమగుచున్నది.

'సత్యం జ్ఞానమనంతం బ్రహ్మ' అను తైత్తిరీయోపనిషద్ వాక్యమునుబట్టి సత్యము, జ్ఞానము అనునవి తన రూపముగా కలదియు, అవధిరహితమును అగునది 'బ్రహ్మ'. ఈ శ్రుతి వాక్యముననుసరించి మిగుల పెద్దదియు, అనంతమయినదియు, అన్నిటిని సృజించునదియు, వర్ధిల్లజేయునదియునగు బ్రహ్మతత్త్వమే శ్రీ విష్ణువు.

सत्त्वादि लक्षणं ब्रह्म सत्यं ज्ञानमिति श्रुतेः ।
प्रत्यस्तमिति भेदं यत् सत्ता मात्रमगोचरम् ॥

वचसा मात्म संवेद्यं तद्‍ज्ञानं ब्रह्म संज्ञितं ।
इति विष्णु पुराणे श्री पराशरसमीरणात् ॥

Sattvādi lakṣaṇaṃ brahma satyaṃ jñānamiti śruteḥ,
Pratyastamiti bhedaṃ yat sattā mātramagocaram.
Vacasā mātma saṃvedyaṃ tadˈjñānaṃ brahma saṃjñitaṃ,
Iti viṣṇu purāṇe śrī parāśarasamīraṇāt.

From the root 'Br‌hi', Br‌ṃhati meaning the one that grows, Br‌ṃhayati - the one that causes growth, the word Brahma originates.

As explained in Taittirīya upaniṣad 'Satyaṃ Jñānamanaṃtaṃ Brahma' - Brahma is of the nature of existence, knowledge and infinitude. Being great and all-pervading, Lord Viṣṇu, hence, is Brahma.

🌷. తాత్పర్యం :

ఓ అర్జునా! ఎవడు తనతో పోల్చుకొని సమస్తజీవులకు వాటి సుఖదుఃఖములందు సమముగా గాంచునో అతడే ఉత్తమయోగి యనబడును.

🌷. భాష్యము :

తన స్వానుభవకారణముగా సర్వుల సుఖదుఃఖములను తెలిసియుండెడి కృష్ణభక్తిరసభావితుడు వాస్తవమునకు ఉత్తమయోగి యనబడును. భగవానునితో తనకు గల సంబధమును మరచుటయే జీవుని దుఃఖమునకు కారణమై యున్నది.

కాని శ్రీకృష్ణుడే సర్వమానవకర్మలకు దివ్యభోక్తయనియు, సమస్తజగములకు ప్రభువనియు, సర్వజీవుల ఆప్తమిత్రుడనియు ఎరుగుటయే జీవుని సుఖశాంతులకు కారణము కాగలదు.

ప్రకృతిజన్య త్రిగుణములకు లొంగి యుండెడి జీవుడు తనకు శ్రీకృష్ణునితో గల సంబంధమును మరచుట చేతనే తాపత్రయములకు లోనగునని యోగియైనవాడు ఎరిగియుండును.

కృష్ణభక్తిభావన యందు నిలుచు అట్టి యోగి సుఖియై యుండును కనుక కృష్ణసంబంధ విజ్ఞానమును సర్వులకు పంచుటకు యత్నించును.

ప్రతియొక్కరు కృష్ణభక్తిరసభావితులు కావలసిన అవశ్యకతను అతడు ప్రచారము చేయ యత్నించునందున అతడే నిజముగా జగములో ఉత్తమమైన జహితైషియు మరియు శ్రీకృష్ణునకు ప్రియతమ సేవకుడును కాగలడు. “న చ తస్మాన్మనుష్యేషు కశ్చిన్మే ప్రియకృత్తమ:” ( భగవద్గీత 18.69).

అనగా భక్తుడు సదా జీవులందరి క్షేమమును గాంచుట సర్వులకు ఆప్తమిత్రుడు కాగలడు. యోగమునందు పూర్ణత్వమును స్వీయలాభాపేక్ష కొరకు గాక కేవలము ఇతరుల కొరకే ఉపయోగించు కారణమున అతడు ఉత్తమయోగియు కాగలడు.

ఇతర జీవుల యెడ అతడెన్నడును ఈర్ష్యను కలిగియుండడు. విశుద్ధభక్తునికి మరియు స్వీయోద్ధారమునకై యత్నించు సాధారణయోగికి నడుమ వ్యత్యాసము ఇచ్చటనే యున్నది.

కనుకనే చక్కగా ధ్యానము చేయుట కొరకు ఏకాంతస్థలమునకు పోవు యోగి, ప్రతియొక్కరికి తన శక్తి కొలది కృష్ణభక్తిరసభావితులుగా మార్చ యత్నము చేయు భక్తుని కన్నను పూర్ణుడు కానేరడు.

🌴 Chapter 6 - Dhyana Yoga - 32 🌴

32. ātmaupamyena sarvatra samaṁ paśyati yo ’rjuna
sukhaṁ vā yadi vā duḥkhaṁ sa yogī paramo mataḥ

🌷 Translation :

He is a perfect yogī who, by comparison to his own self, sees the true equality of all beings, in both their happiness and their distress, O Arjuna!


🌹 Purport :

One who is Kṛṣṇa conscious is a perfect yogī; he is aware of everyone’s happiness and distress by dint of his own personal experience. The cause of the distress of a living entity is forgetfulness of his relationship with God.

And the cause of happiness is knowing Kṛṣṇa to be the supreme enjoyer of all the activities of the human being, the proprietor of all lands and planets, and the sincerest friend of all living entities.

The perfect yogī knows that the living being who is conditioned by the modes of material nature is subjected to the threefold material miseries due to forgetfulness of his relationship with Kṛṣṇa. And because one in Kṛṣṇa consciousness is happy, he tries to distribute the knowledge of Kṛṣṇa everywhere.

Since the perfect yogī tries to broadcast the importance of becoming Kṛṣṇa conscious, he is the best philanthropist in the world, and he is the dearest servitor of the Lord. Na ca tasmān manuṣyeṣu kaścin me priya-kṛttamaḥ (Bg. 18.69).

In other words, a devotee of the Lord always looks to the welfare of all living entities, and in this way he is factually the friend of everyone.

He is the best yogī because he does not desire perfection in yoga for his personal benefit, but tries for others also. He does not envy his fellow living entities. Here is a contrast between a pure devotee of the Lord and a yogī interested only in his personal elevation.

The yogī who has withdrawn to a secluded place in order to meditate perfectly may not be as perfect as a devotee who is trying his best to turn every man toward Kṛṣṇa consciousness.

🌷. తాత్పర్యం :

*ఓ అర్జునా! ఎవడు తనతో పోల్చుకొని సమస్తజీవులకు వాటి సుఖదుఃఖములందు సమముగా గాంచునో అతడే ఉత్తమయోగి యనబడును.*

🌷. భాష్యము :

తన స్వానుభవకారణముగా సర్వుల సుఖదుఃఖములను తెలిసియుండెడి కృష్ణభక్తిరసభావితుడు వాస్తవమునకు ఉత్తమయోగి యనబడును. భగవానునితో తనకు గల సంబధమును మరచుటయే జీవుని దుఃఖమునకు కారణమై యున్నది. 

కాని శ్రీకృష్ణుడే సర్వమానవకర్మలకు దివ్యభోక్తయనియు, సమస్తజగములకు ప్రభువనియు, సర్వజీవుల ఆప్తమిత్రుడనియు ఎరుగుటయే జీవుని సుఖశాంతులకు కారణము కాగలదు. 

ప్రకృతిజన్య త్రిగుణములకు లొంగి యుండెడి జీవుడు తనకు శ్రీకృష్ణునితో గల సంబంధమును మరచుట చేతనే తాపత్రయములకు లోనగునని యోగియైనవాడు ఎరిగియుండును. 

కృష్ణభక్తిభావన యందు నిలుచు అట్టి యోగి సుఖియై యుండును కనుక కృష్ణసంబంధ విజ్ఞానమును సర్వులకు పంచుటకు యత్నించును. 

ప్రతియొక్కరు కృష్ణభక్తిరసభావితులు కావలసిన అవశ్యకతను అతడు ప్రచారము చేయ యత్నించునందున అతడే నిజముగా జగములో ఉత్తమమైన జహితైషియు మరియు శ్రీకృష్ణునకు ప్రియతమ సేవకుడును కాగలడు. “న చ తస్మాన్మనుష్యేషు కశ్చిన్మే ప్రియకృత్తమ:” ( భగవద్గీత 18.69). 

అనగా భక్తుడు సదా జీవులందరి క్షేమమును గాంచుట సర్వులకు ఆప్తమిత్రుడు కాగలడు. యోగమునందు పూర్ణత్వమును స్వీయలాభాపేక్ష కొరకు గాక కేవలము ఇతరుల కొరకే ఉపయోగించు కారణమున అతడు ఉత్తమయోగియు కాగలడు. 

ఇతర జీవుల యెడ అతడెన్నడును ఈర్ష్యను కలిగియుండడు. విశుద్ధభక్తునికి మరియు స్వీయోద్ధారమునకై యత్నించు సాధారణయోగికి నడుమ వ్యత్యాసము ఇచ్చటనే యున్నది. 

కనుకనే చక్కగా ధ్యానము చేయుట కొరకు ఏకాంతస్థలమునకు పోవు యోగి, ప్రతియొక్కరికి తన శక్తి కొలది కృష్ణభక్తిరసభావితులుగా మార్చ యత్నము చేయు భక్తుని కన్నను పూర్ణుడు కానేరడు.

*🌴 Chapter 6 - Dhyana Yoga - 32 🌴*

*32. ātmaupamyena sarvatra samaṁ paśyati yo ’rjuna*

*sukhaṁ vā yadi vā duḥkhaṁ sa yogī paramo mataḥ*

🌷 Translation : 

*He is a perfect yogī who, by comparison to his own self, sees the true equality of all beings, in both their happiness and their distress, O Arjuna!*

🌹 Purport :

One who is Kṛṣṇa conscious is a perfect yogī; he is aware of everyone’s happiness and distress by dint of his own personal experience. The cause of the distress of a living entity is forgetfulness of his relationship with God. 

And the cause of happiness is knowing Kṛṣṇa to be the supreme enjoyer of all the activities of the human being, the proprietor of all lands and planets, and the sincerest friend of all living entities. 

The perfect yogī knows that the living being who is conditioned by the modes of material nature is subjected to the threefold material miseries due to forgetfulness of his relationship with Kṛṣṇa. And because one in Kṛṣṇa consciousness is happy, he tries to distribute the knowledge of Kṛṣṇa everywhere. 

Since the perfect yogī tries to broadcast the importance of becoming Kṛṣṇa conscious, he is the best philanthropist in the world, and he is the dearest servitor of the Lord. Na ca tasmān manuṣyeṣu kaścin me priya-kṛttamaḥ (Bg. 18.69). 

In other words, a devotee of the Lord always looks to the welfare of all living entities, and in this way he is factually the friend of everyone. 

He is the best yogī because he does not desire perfection in yoga for his personal benefit, but tries for others also. He does not envy his fellow living entities. Here is a contrast between a pure devotee of the Lord and a yogī interested only in his personal elevation. 

The yogī who has withdrawn to a secluded place in order to meditate perfectly may not be as perfect as a devotee who is trying his best to turn every man toward Kṛṣṇa consciousness.

*From the root 'Br‌hi', Br‌ṃhati meaning the one that grows, Br‌ṃhayati - the one that causes growth, the word Brahma originates.*

*As explained in Taittirīya upaniṣad 'Satyaṃ Jñānamanaṃtaṃ Brahma' - Brahma is of the nature of existence, knowledge and infinitude. Being great and all-pervading, Lord Viṣṇu, hence, is Brahma.*

That Knowledge which negates difference, which refers to pure existence, which is beyond the grasp of senses and realized in the Self is indicated by Brahma.

*🌻. తారకాసుర వధ - 4 🌻*

ఆ యుధ్ధములో కొందరు రాక్షసులు భయముతో చేతులు జోడించిరి. వేలాది రాక్షసులు తెగిన అవయవములు గలవారై మరణించిరి(35). కొందరు రాక్షసులు అపుడు చేతులు జోడించి 'రక్షించుము, రక్షించుము' అని పలుకుచూ దిక్కుతోచక కుమారుని శరణు గోరిరి (36). కొందరు అచటనే సంహరింపబడగా, మరికొందరు పారిపోయిరి. పారిపోవు వారిని దేవతలు, గణములు తన్ని పీడించిరి (37). ఆశలు భగ్నము కాగా, దైన్యమును పొందియున్న ఆ రాక్షసులు వేలాది మంది బ్రతుకు తీపితో పారిపోయి పాతాళములో ప్రవేశించిరి (38).

ఓ మహర్షీ! ఈ విధముగా రాక్షససైన్యమంతయూ చెల్లాచెదరయ్యెను. గణములకు, దేవతకు భయపడి అపుడచట ఒక్కరైననూ నిలబడలేదు (39). ఆ దుర్మార్గుడు సంహరింపబడగానే అంతయూ నిష్కంటకమాయెను. ఇంద్రాది దేవతలందరు అపుడు సుఖించిరి(40). ఈ విదముగా కుమారుడు విజయమును పొందెను. సమస్త దేవతలు, మరియు ముల్లోకములు ఏకకాలములో మహానందమును పొందెను (41). అపుడు శివుడు కూడా కార్తికుని ఆ విజయమునెరింగి గణములతో కూడి ప్రియురాలితో సహ ఆనందముతో అచటకు వచ్చెను (42).

పార్వతి ప్రేమతో నిండిన హృదయము గలదై సూర్యునితో సమమగు తేజజస్సు గల తన పుత్రుడగు కుమారుని తన ఒడిలో కూర్చుండబెట్టుకొని మిక్కిలి ప్రీతితో లాలించెను (43). అపుడు హిమవంతుడు తన పుత్రులతో, బంధువులతో, అనుచరులతో కూడి వచ్చి శంభుని, పార్వతిని, గుహుని స్తుతించెను (44).

35. Some of the Asuras who were afraid joined their palms in reverence. In the battle the limbs of many Asuras were chopped off and severed. Thousands were killed too.

36. Some of the Asuras shrieking “O save O save” with palms joined in reverence sought refuge in Kumāra.

37. Numberless Asuras were killed. Many fled. The fleeing Asuras were beaten and harassed by the gods and the Gaṇas.

38. Thousands of them fled to Pātāla for their life. Those who tried to flee were disappointed and put to distress.

39. O great sage, thus the entire army of the Asuras disappeared. None dared to remain there for fear of the gods and the Gaṇas.

40. When the wicked Asura was killed, the whole universe became freed of thorns, freed from the danger and nuisance of the Asuras. Indra and other gods became happy.

41. Thus when Kumāra came out victorious the gods were happy. The three worlds attained great pleasure.

42. On knowing about the victory of Kārttikeya, Śiva came there joyously with his beloved and the Gaṇas.

43. He took his son on his lap and fondled him with pleasure. Pārvatī in her flutter of affection took Kumāra, resplendent as the sun, on her lap and fondled him with pleasure.

44. Then Himavat came there along with his sons, kinsmen and servants. He eulogised Śiva and Guha.

*తత్వశాస్త్రం అనేది సంఘటనల వెనుక ఉన్న కారణాల అధ్యయనం, లేదా, ప్రభావాలకు గల కారణాల అధ్యయనం అని చెప్పవచ్చు. లేదా దాని అర్థాన్ని మరింత ముందుకు తీసుకువెళ్లామంటే, ఇది సమస్త విషయాల యొక్క అంతిమ కారణాన్ని అధ్యయనం చేయడం అని చెప్పవచ్చు. ఇదీ తత్వశాస్త్రం అంటే. అసలు ఏదైనా ఎందుకు మనుగడలో ఉండాలి? అది ఆ విధంగా గానే ఎందుకు ప్రవర్తించాలి? విజ్ఞాన శాస్త్రానికి తత్వ శాస్త్రానికి ఉన్న తేడా ఏమిటంటే విజ్ఞాన శాస్త్రం విషయాలు ఎలా జరుగుతాయో చెప్తుంది కానీ ఎందుకు జరుగుతుందో చెప్పదు. అది విజ్ఞాన శాస్త్రం పరిధి లోకి రాదు. తాత్విక శాస్త్రం ఏదైనా విషయం యొక్క కారణాన్ని పరిశోధిస్తుంది. ఏదైనా విషయం యొక్క మూలకారణాన్ని తెలుసుకోలేకపోతే, మనిషికి సంతృప్తి ఉండదు.*

*మనకి ఎప్పటికీ అర్థం కాని రహస్యం ఏమిటంటే సృష్టిలో ప్రతి వస్తువు ఒక నిర్దుష్టమైన విధానంలో ప్రవర్తించడానికి గల కారణం ఏంటి? వివిధ రకాల సామాజిక తత్వాలు మానవ ప్రవర్తన యొక్క స్వభావాన్ని అధ్యయనం చేస్తాయి. సామాజిక శాస్త్రం, మళ్ళీ, మానవ ప్రవర్తన యొక్క కారణం కాకుండా ఎలా ప్రవర్తిస్తారు అనే దానికే పరిమితం అవుతుంది. 'ప్రజలు తమలో తాము ఎలా ప్రవర్తిస్తారు? వారు మానవ సమాజంలో ఎలా ప్రవర్తిస్తారు?' అని అడుగుతుంది. కానీ మనలో ఒక భిన్నమైన దృక్కోణం ఉంది. ఇది వేసే ప్రశ్న ఏమిటంటే: 'ఈ వ్యక్తులు ఎందుకు ఈ విధంగా ప్రవర్తిస్తారు?' అని. “ప్రజలు ఎందుకు అలా ప్రవర్తిస్తున్నారో నాకు తెలియదు” అని మనం తరచుగా అంటుంటాం.*

*🌻 8. There is a Mystery Hanging Above Our Heads🌻*

*Philosophy is a study of causes behind events, or, rather, the causes of effects, or, to push it further, it may be said to be a study of the ultimate cause of things. This is the subject of philosophy. Why should there be anything at all, and why should it behave the way it behaves? It is often said that science is distinguished from philosophy in this: that, while science can tell the ‘how' of things, it cannot explain the ‘why' of things. That is not its field. The ‘why' of anything is investigated into by the study known as philosophy. Unless the question as to the ‘why' of a thing is answered from within oneself, one cannot feel finally contented.*

*There is a mystery hanging above our heads, and everything seems to be a mist before us. Why should anything conduct itself or behave in the way it does? Social philosophies of different types study the nature of human behaviour. The science of sociology, again, confines itself to the ‘how' rather than the ‘why' of human behaviour. “How do people conduct themselves, and how do they behave in human society?” it asks. But we have a different faculty within us which puts the question: “Why do these people behave in this manner?” We often say, “I do not know why people are behaving in that way.”*

When one starts inquiring into one's acts, commitments, directions, and goals, great confusion arises. To avoid that confusion, many people never think about what they are doing; they simply go on doing. From one thing to another they simply go on jumping, so there is no time left.

Tired, they fall asleep; early in the morning they start chasing shadows again. That process goes on and on, and one day they die without knowing who they were, what they were doing, and why. Now you will be hesitating about everything. It is the beginning of wisdom. Only stupid people never hesitate. Just see that this is one of the gifts of being a seeker. 🌻. హోమ విధి - అగ్ని కార్య కథనము - 5🌻

కుండము మధ్య, బుతుస్నాత యగు లక్ష్మిని ధ్యానించి హోమము చేయవలెను. కుండములోపల నున్న లక్ష్మికి కుండలక్ష్మీ అని పేరు. త్రిగుణాత్మిక యగు ప్రకృతి ఈ లక్ష్మియే. ఈమెయే సకలభూజములకును, సకలమంత్రములకును, విద్యలకును ఉత్పత్తిస్థానము.

వరమాత్మస్వరూప డగు అగ్నిదేవుడు మోక్షమునకు కారణ మైనవాడు; ముక్తిదాత. కుండలక్ష్మి శిరస్సు తూర్పుదిక్కు వైపునను, భుజములు ఈశాన - ఆగ్నేయదిక్కులవైపునను, కాళ్ళు వాయవ్యనైరృతిదిక్కులవైపునకును ఉండును. కుండమే ఉదరము. కుండమునందలి యోనిస్థానము యోని. మూడు మేఖలలు సత్త్వరజస్తమోగుణములు. ఈ విధముగ ధ్యానించి ముష్టిముద్రతో పదునైదు సమిధలను హోమము చేయవలెను పిదప వాయవ్యదిక్కునుండు ఆగ్నేయదిక్కువరకును 'ఆధారములు' అనెడురెండు ఆహుతుల నివ్వవలెను.

ఇదే విధమున ఆగ్నేయమునుండి ఈశాన్యము వరకు ఆజ్యభాగములను ఆహుతులు చేయవలెను. ఆజ్యస్థాలినుండు ఉత్తర-దక్షిణ-మధ్యభాగములనుండి ఆజ్యము గ్రహించి ద్వాదశాంతముతో, అనగా మూలమును పన్నెండు పర్యాయములు జపించి, అగ్నియందు, ఆ దిక్కులందే హోమము చేసి, అచటనే త్యాగము చేయవలెను. పిమ్మట ''భూః స్వాహా'' ఇత్యాదిక్రమమున వ్యాహృతిహోమము చేయవలెను. కమలమధ్యభాగమున సంస్కాసంపన్నుడగు అగ్నిదేవుని ధ్యానింపవలెను. ''

ఈ ఏడు జహ్వలతో కోట్లకొలది సూర్యుల ప్రకాశముతో ప్రకాశించును. ఆతని ముఖము చంద్ర సదృశము. నేత్రములు సూర్యుని వలె దేదీప్యమానములుగ నున్నవి''. ఈ విధముగ ధ్యానించి అగ్నిదేవునకు నూటఎనిమిది ఆహుతులు సమర్పింపవలెను. లేదా మూలమూలమంత్రముచే అందులో సగము సంఖ్యగల ఆహుతులను, మరి యోనిమిది ఆహుతులమ ఇవ్వవలెను. అంగములకు కూడ పదేసి ఆహుతులు ఇవ్వవలెను.

ఆగ్ని మహాపురాణమున అగ్ని కార్యకథన మను ముప్పదినాల్గవ అధ్యాయము సమాప్తము.

Chapter 34

🌻 Mode of performing oblation - 5 🌻

34. The oblation is made after having meditated on the lustrous (goddess) Lakṣmī at the middle of the pit. (She) is known as Kuṇḍalakṣmī (Lakṣmī of the sacrificial pit), the source of the material world composed of the three qualities.

35. She is the source of all beings as well as mystic learning and collection of mystic syllables. The fire is the cause of liberation. The supreme soul (Viṣṇu) is the conferer of emancipation.

36. (His) head is spoken as at the east, the two arms are situated at the corners north-east and south-east, the two thighs at the north-western and south-western corners.

37-38. The belly is called (the sacrificial) pit. The organ of generation is said to be the source. The three qualities are the girdle. Having meditated thus fifteen twigs should be placed in the fire (after reciting) Oṃ by showing muṣṭi-mudrā[9]. Oblations should be made again to the vessels and worship is offered (to the vessels) on the north-west to south-east.

39. Parts of oblations are offered (for the directions) upto the north-east with the basic mystic syllable. (Oblations are made) in the north with (the syllables) (forming) the end (of the) twelve syllables[10] and with the middle (of the mystic syllable) in the south.

40. The consecrated fire of Viṣṇu, possessing seven tongues and having the radiance of crores of sums and having the moon as its face and sun as the eye and situated in the middle of the lotus should be meditated upon with the vyāhṛtis. [11] Then one should offer one hundred and eight oblations (to this form). Then fiftyeight oblations (should be offered) and a tenth of it for the limbs.
