ఓ! వామనమూర్తీ! ఋగ్యజుఃసామవేదముల గూఢతత్త్వములతో నిండిన వాక్కుతో ఈ ఆర్తుని సకలదుఃఖములను శమింపచేయుము గోవిందా! త్రిదోషములవలన కలిగినదియు, సంనిపాతమువలన కలిగినదియ, ఆగంతుకమునుఅగు ఐకాహికజ్వరమును (రోజువిడిచి రోజువచ్చు జ్వరము), ద్వ్యాహికజ్వరమును (రెండు రోజులకు (వచ్చునది). త్ర్యాహికజ్వరమును, అత్యంతముభయంకర మగు చాతుర్థిక జ్వరమును (నాలుగురోజులకొకసారివచ్చునది), మానకుండా వచ్చు జ్వరమును శీఘ్రముగ శమింప చేయుము. దానివలన కలుగు బాధలను తొలగింపుము.

9. (You) destroy the magical incantations set up by others with meditation for working evils, causing diseases and decrepitude.
10. Oṃ, salutations to Vāsudeva, Kṛṣṇa, bearer of sword. Salutations to lotus-eyed, Keśava (and) the first holder of the disc.
11. Salutations to the wearer of clean dress made yellow by the filaments of lotuses (and) the disc (of Viṣṇu) hurled on the shoulders of the enemies at the great battle, (and) the wielder of the same.
12. Salutations to the one who lifted the earth on his tusk[1], who has the three forms embodied in him, the great Yajñavarāha,[2] and the one who reclines on the hood of (the serpent) Śeṣa.
13. Salutations to you, the divine lion having manes of the hue of molten gold, eyes bright like the burning fire, (and) claws (harder) than thunder-bolt to touch.
14. Salutations again and again to you, Kāśyapa, the shortest statured, adorned with the Ṛg, Yajur and Sāma (veda) (and) the Dwarf form which covered the earth.
15. O Boar, One with huge tusks, you crush all evils completely, their effects and also the effects of sins.
16. O Man-lion, having a dreadful face (and) the burning fire in between the teeth, the destroyer of distress, you breakdown all evils by your cry.
17. May Janārdana (Viṣṇu), the one who assumed the form of a Dwarf, dispel all grief of this person by words embedded with the Ṛg, Yajur and Sāma (veda).
18-19. O Govinda! (You) destroy quickly this person’s sufferings. Destroy fevers—quotidian occurring on alternate days, tertian, quartan and also the terrible satata, those arising out of derangement (of humours), the sannipāta (caused by the derangement of three humours), as well as accidental.

నిర్భయులై తారకునితో యుద్దమును చేయగోరి ఒక్కుమ్మడిగా లేచి నిలబడిరి (12). దేవేంద్రుడు కుమారుని ఏనుగుపై ఎక్కించి, లోకపాలురతో మరియు దేవతల పెద్ద స్తెన్యముతో గూడి ముందు నడిచెను (13). అపుడుదుందుభులు, అనేక విధముల భేరీలు, తూర్యములు, వీణలు, వేణువులు, మద్దెలలు మ్రోగినవి. గంధర్వులు పాడజొచ్చిరి (14).
కుమారుడు ఏనుగును ఇంద్రునకిచ్చి, అనేక వింతలతో గూడినది, నానావిధ రత్నములచే పొదగబడినది అగు విమానము నధిష్ఠించెను (15). గొప్ప కీర్తి గలవాడు, సర్వ సద్గుణ సంపన్నుడు, శోభా యుక్తుడు అగు ఆ శంకరపుత్రుడు విమానము నధిష్ఠించెను. అపుడు గొప్ప ప్రకాశము గల వింజామరలచే వీచు చుండా ఆ మహాత్ముడు గొప్పగా ప్రకాశించెను (16) మిక్కిలి శోభ గలది, రత్నములతో పొదిగినది అగు వరుణచ్ఛత్రమును కుమారుని శిరస్సుపై పట్టిరి. అపుడా ఛత్రము చంద్రకిరణముల వంటి గొప్ప కాంతులను అనంతముగా వెదజల్లెను (17).
అపుడు ఇంద్రాది దేవతలందరు తమ తమ స్తెన్యములతో గూడి యుద్దమును చేయు కోరికతో ఒక చోట చేరిరి. మహాబలశాలురగు (18) దేవతలు, రాక్షసులు ఈ విధముగా యుద్ధమును చేయు కోరికతో భూమిపై నిలబడి యుండిరి. వారు తమ మహస్తెన్యములను వేర్వేరు వ్యూహములలో తీర్చిదిద్దిరి (19). స్తోత్రపాఠకులచే స్తుతింపబడుచున్న ఆ దేవదానవ స్తెన్యములు పరస్పరము సంహరించు కోరిక గలవై ఆ సమయములో విరాజిల్లినవి (20). వీరులు కాని వారికి మహాభయమును, వీరులకు ఆనందమును కలిగించు, ఆరణ్యముల వలె వ్యాపించియున్న ఆ రెండు సేనలు అపుడు గర్జించినవి (21).

11. The Asuras in the company of Tāraka roared and shook the ground with their thudding footsteps, leapings and bouncings.
12. Undaunted by that terrible noise, the gods simultaneously rose up to fight Tāraka.
13. Accompanied by the great army of the gods and the guardians of the quarters, lord Indra seated Kumāra on an elephant and rushed forward.
14. Great war-drums, Dundubhis, Bherīs and Tūryas, lutes, flutes and Mṛdaṅgas were sounded and the Gandharvas sang war songs.
15. Leaving the elephant to lord Indra, Kumāra got in an aerial chariot of wonderful build and studded with different sets of gems.
16. Seated in the aerial chariot, the son of Śiva endowed with good qualities and of great renown shone with great splendour. He was being fanned with lustrous chowries.
17. The lustrous umbrella presented by Varuṇa, shining with various gems was held aloft over his head. Beams of light as though of infinite moons shed great lustre around.
18. Indra and other gods of great strength, desirous of fighting, joined him with their own divisions of the army.
19. The gods and the demons stood in their arrays on the ground with a vast army ready to start the battle.
20. With the bards singing their songs of praise, the armies of the gods and the Asuras shone in their eagerness to pounce on and crush each other.
21. The two armies as vast as a wild jungle roared. They were terrific to the coward and pleasing to the brave.

*It is vyakta (manifested) + avyakta (un-manifested) svarūpiṇī. She is both manifested and un-manifested form. Since this form is the first of manifested form, it is called mahat which means great. It is the fundamental tool of the phenomenal universe. This mahat is endowed with supreme knowledge. The undifferentiated prakṛti is mahat. From mahat, further evolution takes place.*
