*క్రమశః సమనుక్రమ్య పునరత్రావ్రజేచ్ఛుచిః॥*
*తాత్పర్యము : మరల మానవజన్మను పొందుటకు ముందు, ఈ నరకయాతనలను అన్నింటిని అనుభవించి, పిదప కుక్కగా, నక్కగా నీచ యోనులలో పుట్టి క్రమముగా పెక్కు కష్టములను అనుభవించును. ఆ విధముగా అతని పాపములు అన్నియును ప్రక్షాళనము కాగా, మరల అతడు మనుష్యుడుగా జన్మించును.*

*34. adhastān nara-lokasya yāvatīr yātanādayaḥ*
*kramaśaḥ samanukramya punar atrāvrajec chuciḥ*
*MEANING : Having gone through all the miserable, hellish conditions and having passed in a regular order through the lowest forms of animal life prior to human birth, and having thus been purged of his sins, one is reborn again as a human being on this earth.*
*PURPORT : Just as a prisoner, who has undergone troublesome prison life, is set free again, the person who has always engaged in impious and mischievous activities is put into hellish conditions, and when he has undergone different hellish lives, namely those of lower animals like cats, dogs and hogs, by the gradual process of evolution he again comes back as a human being. In Bhagavad-gītā it is stated that even though a person engaged in the practice of the yoga system may not finish perfectly and may fall down for some reason or other, his next life as a human being is guaranteed. It is stated that such a person, who has fallen from the path of yoga practice, is given a chance in his next life to take birth in a very rich family or in a very pious family.*

*మనకు విషయాల పట్ల ఒక క్రియా జనితమైన మిడిమిడి జ్ఞానం మాత్రమే ఉంది. మనకు నిజమైన జ్ఞానం లేదు- మనం చేసే పనులు, మనం జీవించే జీవితం ద్వారా వచ్చిన ఒక మిడిమిడి జ్ఞానం మాత్రమే. మేము వివిధ రకాల సంబంధాల ద్వారా వస్తువులతో ఐక్యతను పొందుతున్నాము. అధ్యాత్మ మరియు అధిభూతం, విషయం మరియు వస్తువు, మనిషి మరియు ప్రకృతి ఈ విధమైన సంబంధంలో ఉన్నాయి- అది నిజమైన సంబంధం కాదు. కేవలం అనుసంధానం మాత్రమే. ఈ లోకంతో ఏమి చేయాలో మనం తెలుసుకోలేక పోయాము. ప్రకృతి ఎప్పుడూ మన బయటే ఉన్నది. అది ఎప్పుడూ మనది కాదు. మనం ఎప్పుడూ ప్రకృతిని పూర్తిగా నియంత్రించ లేకపోయాము. ఎందుకంటే ఇది ఎల్లప్పుడూ మనకు భిన్నంగా ఉంటుంది మరియు మనది కాదు కాబట్టి.*
*సృష్టి జరిగినప్పటి నుండి ఇదే పరిస్థితి. మనం ఎప్పుడూ ఒక వస్తువును సక్రమంగా స్వంతం చేసుకోలేకపోయాము. మనం దానిని నిజంగా కలిగి ఉండగలిగితే, కొంత కాలం తర్వాత అది మనల్ని ఎందుకు విడిచిపెట్టాలి? నిజంగా మనది అయిన దానిని మనం ఎందుకు పోగొట్టుకోవాలి? కారణం ఏంటంటే అది మనది కాదు. ఇది మనది అని మనం అనుకుంటున్నాము, కానీ అది మనల్ని విడిచి పెట్టినప్పుడు మనది కాదనే నిజం మనకు తెలుస్తోంది. అది మనది కాదని, మన నుంచి దూరం వెళ్తూ దాని అసలు స్వరూపాన్ని అది నొక్కి చెబుతోంది. విషయాలు మనల్ని విడిచి పెట్టవచ్చు; అది ఒక వ్యక్తి కావచ్చు, అది మన స్వంత సంబంధాలు కావచ్చు, మన స్వంత ఆస్తులు-ఏదైనా కావచ్చు-మనం కలిగి ఉన్నవన్నీ మనల్ని విడిచిపెట్టవచ్చు.*

*We have a working knowledge of things, as people say. We don’t have a real knowledge—just a working knowledge which goes with the life we lead. We have been getting one with things through various kinds of relationships. The adhyatma and the adhibhuta, the subject and the object, and man and nature have been in this sort of relationship—not really related, but only apparently connected. We have not been able to know what to do with this world. Nature has always been lying outside us. It has never become ours. We have never been able to control or master nature fully, because it was always something different from us, and not ours.*
*Ever since creation, this has been the situation, as we have never been able to possess a thing properly. If we could possess it really, why should it leave us after some time? Why should we lose a thing that is really ours? The reason is that it is not ours. We have been thinking that it was ours, but it asserts its real nature of not being ours when it leaves us. “I am not yours, my dear friend. Don’t think I am not going.” Things may leave us; it may be a person, it may be our own relationships, our own possessions—whatever it is—all that we possess may leave us.*
