🌻 281. 'ఉన్మేషనిమిషోత్పన్న విపన్న భువనావళి!! 🌻

మాత కన్నులు తెరచిన బ్రహ్మాండములు పుట్టునని, ఆమె కన్నులు మూసిన అవి నశించునని అర్థము. ఉన్మేషమనగా నేత్రముల కాంతి. ఉత్పన్న విపన్నములు, భువనావళులకు అనగా బ్రహ్మాండములు ఆమె నుండి కలుగు చుండును. శ్రీమాత అనిమిష అయినచో సృష్టి యుండును. నిమిష అయినచో సృష్టి లయ మగును. అనిమిష అనగా తెరచిన కన్నులు గలది. నిమిష అనగా మూసిన కన్నులు కలది. అనిమిషగ నున్నప్పుడు ఆమె నేత్రముల నుండి ప్రసరించు కాంతి సృష్టి కాధారమై సృష్టిని గావించి వృద్ధి పరచును. ఆమె నిమిషయై కన్నులు మూసినచో సృష్టి క్షణ కాలమున లయమగను.

సృష్టి కాలమందు శ్రీమాత అనిమేష అనగా రెప్పపాటులు లేనిది. ఈ కర్మములనే శ్రీమాతను, శ్రీమహా విష్ణువును పద్మముల వలె విచ్చుకొన్న ఆకర్షణీయమైన కన్నులు కలవారిగ ఆరాధింతురు. విచ్చుకొన్న కన్నులుగల మూర్తి నారాధించువారు క్రమముగ వికాసము పొందుదురు. మూసిన కన్నులు గల రూపమును ధ్యానించుట వలన ప్రయోజన మంతంత మాత్రమే. దేవి కన్నుల వర్ణన అనేక విధములుగ భక్తులు చేయుచు నుందురు. నేత్ర దర్శన మత్యంత ప్రధానము.

కలువరేకుల వలె విచ్చుకొన్న కాంతివంతమైన కన్నులను ధ్యానించు వారు కాంతివంతు లగుదురు. కాంతి ప్రభావము చేత అప్రమత్తులుగ ఉందురు. కాంతిగల పెద్ద కన్నులు జీవుల పరిణామమును కూడ సూచించును. కన్నులు తెరచుట, మూయుట శ్రీమాత ఇచ్ఛానుసార
ముండును. కావున సృష్టి ఆరంభమునకు అంతమునకు శ్రీదేవి ఇచ్ఛయే ఆధారము.

సంవత్సరమున ఫాల్గుణ మాసము (మీనరాశి) ఈ తత్త్వమును ప్రసరింపచేయును. ఈ మాసమునకు అధిదేవత మీనాక్షి. ఈ మాసమునందే సంవత్సర మంత మగుచుండును. ఈ మాసము నందే సూక్ష్మమగు ఆరంభము కూడ జరుగును. అంతము వలె తోచుట మరియొక ఆరంభమునకే. ఒక సృష్టి అంతమగుట మరియొక సృష్టి ఆరంభమునకే. చిన్నదైననూ, పెద్దదైననూ ఒక కార్యమంత మైనపుడు మరియొకటి ఆరంభమగునని తెలియవలెను. ఇవియే విపన్న ఉత్పన్నములు.

🌻 Unmeṣa-nimiṣotpanna-vipanna-bhuvānavalī ऊन्मेष-निमिषोत्पन्न-विपन्न-भुवानवली (281) 🌻

Unmeṣa means opening eye lids and nimiṣ means closing of eye lids.

The creation and dissolution of the universe happens at the wink of Her eyes. When She opens Her eyes, universe is created and when She closes Her eyes, universe is dissolved (vipanna). She does these crucial acts with great ease. This nāma actually highlights the ease with which the Brahman creates and dissolves this universe.

Saundarya Laharī (verse 55) also speaks on the same tone. “The sages have said that the world gets dissolved and created with the closing and opening of your eyes respectively. I suppose that your eyes have dispensed with winking in order to save from dissolution of this entire world which has had its through the opening of your eyes.”

This nāma conveys the subtle nature of the cosmic creation. Kashmiri texts interpret Unmeṣa as the externalising of icchā śakti, the commencement of world process. Unmeṣa also means the unfoldment of spiritual consciousness, which is attained by focussing on the inner consciousnss.

ప్రతిదీ వునికి మనకు యిచ్చిన బహుమతే. మనకు దేనికి అర్హత లేదు. మనకు దేనికీ సామర్థ్యం లేదు. అస్తిత్వం మనకు జీవితాన్ని యిచ్చింది. ప్రేమించే సామర్థాన్ని అనుభూతి చెందే స్పందనని యిచ్చింది. సత్యాన్ని సందర్శించగలిగే సహృదయతని యిచ్చింది. మనం అర్హులమని కాదు, మనం తగిన వాళ్ళమని కాదు. దాని దగ్గర అనంతంగా వుండడం వల్ల యిస్తోంది.

దట్టంగా వర్షిస్తున్న మేఘంలాంటిదది. అది నీటితో నిండింది. వర్షించక తప్పదు. అందువల్ల మనం స్వీకరించాలి. అది పువ్వులాంటిది. వికసించిన పువ్వులాంటిది. దాని గాఢ పరిమళాన్ని అది ప్రసరిస్తోంది. గాలితో కలిసి పరిమళం వీస్తోంది. అది కాంతిలాంటిది. ఆద్యంతాలు లేనిది. ఆరంభం లేనిది. అంతం లేనిది. అది పంచుకునేది. లేకుంటే అది యిబ్బంది పడుతుంది.

308. అహంకారము యొక్క పనులను అడ్డుకొని, అన్ని బంధనాలను తెంచుకొనుట ద్వారా బ్రహ్మాన్ని తెలుసుకొని సత్యాన్ని గ్రహించి ద్వంద్వాతీత స్థితిని చేరుకొని, ఆత్మానందమును పొంది, బ్రహ్మములో శాశ్వతముగా ఐక్యము కమ్ము. నీవు ఆ స్థితిని పొందియున్నావు.

309. భయంకరమైన అహంభావమును పూర్తిగా మూలముతో సహా నిర్మూలించినప్పటికి, మనస్సులో ఒక క్షణమైన జీవన సృతులు జ్ఞాపకమునకు వచ్చిన, వందలకొలది కష్టాలను కొనితెస్తుంది. ఎలానంటే వర్షాకాలంలో గాలి వేగానికి మబ్బులు చెదిరిపోయినట్లు.

310. అత్యంత శక్తితో అహంభావమనే శత్రువును ఓడించినప్పటికి ఒక్క క్షణము నీవు జ్ఞానేంద్రియాలకు అనుగుణముగా ఆలోచించినప్పటికి, ఆ కారణముగా తిరిగి నీవు సంసార జీవితములోనికి వచ్చినట్లు అవుతుంది. చిట్రాన్‌వృక్షము పూర్తిగా ఎండిపోయినప్పటికి అందులోంచి నీరు బయటకు వస్తుంది

నీచపు ఆలోచనలు విషపురుగుల వంటివి, త్రాచుపాముల వంటివి. వానిని పెంచి పోషించుట వినాశనము కొరకే. మానవునికి భావమే ప్రధానము. భావములందు సత్యము, ధర్మము, దయ, ప్రేమ పెంపొందినచో జీవుడూర్వగతి చెందగలడు. అరిషడ్వర్గములను పెంచి పోషించినచో జన్మల తరబడి అధోగతి చెందును. సత్పురుషులను, దైవమును దూషించుట, హింసించుట చేసినవారు అసుర జన్మలను కూడ నెత్తుదురు.

మీ భావములనుబట్టి మీ భవిష్యత్తు నిర్ణయమగు చున్నది. మీ భవిష్యత్తునకు మీరే నిర్ణేతలు. కావున మీ పరిస్థితుల కెవ్వరిని దూషింపవద్దు, మిమ్ములను కూడ మీరు దూషించుకొన వలదు. ఆత్మనింద పనికి రాదు, పరనింద అసలే పనికిరాదు.

తోటి మానవులను అవగాహన చేసుకొనుచు, అందరిని కలుపుకొనుచు, ముందుకు సాగుట మేము గుర్తించిన విలువ. కలుపుకొనుటలో విచక్షణ ముఖ్యము. కలుపుకొనుటకు ముందు ఏరుకొనుట ముఖ్యము. ఎన్నుకొనుట కూడ ముఖ్యమే. కనబడినవారి నందరిని కలుపుకొని నడచినచో మార్గము కల్లోలిత మగును. విచక్షణ నీ స్నేహితునిగ ఎప్పుడును ఉండవలెను.

One who is firmly established is Sthāvaraḥ. Firm and long lasting entities like the earth etc., are established in Him. So, Sthāṇuḥ (motionless). He is Sthāvara and sthāṇuḥ, firm and motionless. So He is Sthāvarasthāṇuḥ.

🌷. తాత్పర్యం :

గురువులైన మహాత్ముల జీవితములను పణముగా పెట్టి జీవించుట కన్నను భిక్షమెత్తి జీవించుట ఈ జగమున ఉత్తమమైనది. ప్రాపంచిక లాభమును కోరుచున్నప్పటికి వారందరును పెద్దలే. వారిని వధించినచో మేము అనుభవించు సమస్తమును రక్తపంకిలమగును.

🌷. భాష్యము :

గురువు హేయమైన కార్యమును చేయుచు తన విచక్షణ కోల్పోయినపుడు త్యజింపదగినవాడని శాస్త్రనియమములు తెలుపుచున్నవి. దుర్యోధనుడు ఒసగిన ఆర్ధిక సహాయము కారణముగా భీష్ముడు లిరువురును అతని పక్షమును వహించియుండిరి.

కాని కేవలము ఆర్ధిక కారణముచే ఆతి స్థానమును స్వీకరించుట వారికి తగినట్లుగా లేదు. ఇట్టి పరిస్థితులలో వారు గురువులుగా తమ గౌరవమును కోల్పోయిరి. అయినప్పటికిని వారు పెద్దలుగనే నిలిచియుందురని అర్జునుడు భావించుచున్నాడు. కనుకనే వారిని సంహరించిన పిదప భౌతికలాభముల ననుభవించుట యనగా రక్తపంకిలమైన వాటిని అనుభవించుట యనేయే భావము.

Translation :

It would be better to live in this world by begging than to live at the cost of the lives of great souls who are my teachers. Even though desiring worldly gain, they are superiors. If they are killed, everything we enjoy will be tainted with blood.

Purport :

According to scriptural codes, a teacher who engages in an abominable action and has lost his sense of discrimination is ﬁt to be abandoned.

Bhīṣma and Droṇa were obliged to take the side of Duryodhana because of his ﬁnancial assistance, although they should not have accepted such a position simply on ﬁnancial considerations. Under the circumstances, they have lost the respectability of teachers. But Arjuna thinks that nevertheless they remain his superiors, and therefore to enjoy material proﬁts after killing them would mean to enjoy spoils tainted with blood.

Philosophy soars above empiricality, though it takes the help of empirical concepts and categories for the sake of proclaiming to the world the truths declared by intuition. It speaks to the world in the language of the world, for the language of intuition is unintelligible to the world of experience.

The form and shape of philosophy has necessarily to depend on the stuff out of which the world of experience is made, on account of its having to perform the function of transmitting the knowledge of the super-mundane ideal to the realm of mundane values. It has always within itself a living undercurrent of significance and implication which gives a vivid picture of the nature of the ultimate end to the understanding mind. Philosophy stands on the shoulders of the senses, but looks beyond them. Intuition is the soul of philosophy, and reason is its body.

By intuition, again, we do not mean the sensory intuition of certain Western philosophers, but the integral intuition of Consciousness, which is non-different from the Absolute. The world is based on the Absolute; it is a manifestation of the Absolute. It is the Absolute flowing and moving that appears to the senses as the world.

మాత కన్నులు తెరచిన బ్రహ్మాండములు పుట్టునని, ఆమె కన్నులు మూసిన అవి నశించునని అర్థము. ఉన్మేషమనగా నేత్రముల కాంతి. ఉత్పన్న విపన్నములు, భువనావళులకు అనగా బ్రహ్మాండములు ఆమె నుండి కలుగు చుండును. శ్రీమాత అనిమిష అయినచో సృష్టి యుండును. నిమిష అయినచో సృష్టి లయ మగును. అనిమిష అనగా తెరచిన కన్నులు గలది. నిమిష అనగా మూసిన కన్నులు కలది. అనిమిషగ నున్నప్పుడు ఆమె నేత్రముల నుండి ప్రసరించు కాంతి సృష్టి కాధారమై సృష్టిని గావించి వృద్ధి పరచును. ఆమె నిమిషయై కన్నులు మూసినచో సృష్టి

క్షణ కాలమున లయమగను.

సృష్టి కాలమందు శ్రీమాత అనిమేష అనగా రెప్పపాటులు లేనిది. ఈ కర్మములనే శ్రీమాతను, శ్రీమహా విష్ణువును పద్మముల వలె విచ్చుకొన్న ఆకర్షణీయమైన కన్నులు కలవారిగ ఆరాధింతురు. విచ్చుకొన్న కన్నులుగల మూర్తి నారాధించువారు క్రమముగ వికాసము పొందుదురు. మూసిన కన్నులు గల రూపమును ధ్యానించుట వలన ప్రయోజన మంతంత మాత్రమే. దేవి కన్నుల వర్ణన అనేక విధములుగ భక్తులు చేయుచు నుందురు. నేత్ర దర్శన మత్యంత ప్రధానము.

కలువరేకుల వలె విచ్చుకొన్న కాంతివంతమైన కన్నులను ధ్యానించు వారు కాంతివంతు లగుదురు. కాంతి ప్రభావము చేత అప్రమత్తులుగ ఉందురు. కాంతిగల పెద్ద కన్నులు జీవుల పరిణామమును కూడ సూచించును. కన్నులు తెరచుట, మూయుట శ్రీమాత ఇచ్ఛానుసార

ముండును. కావున సృష్టి ఆరంభమునకు అంతమునకు శ్రీదేవి ఇచ్ఛయే ఆధారము.

సంవత్సరమున ఫాల్గుణ మాసము (మీనరాశి) ఈ తత్త్వమును ప్రసరింపచేయును. ఈ మాసమునకు అధిదేవత మీనాక్షి. ఈ మాసమునందే సంవత్సర మంత మగుచుండును. ఈ మాసము నందే సూక్ష్మమగు ఆరంభము కూడ జరుగును. అంతము వలె తోచుట మరియొక ఆరంభమునకే. ఒక సృష్టి అంతమగుట మరియొక సృష్టి ఆరంభమునకే. చిన్నదైననూ, పెద్దదైననూ ఒక కార్యమంత మైనపుడు మరియొకటి ఆరంభమగునని తెలియవలెను. ఇవియే విపన్న ఉత్పన్నములు.

*🌻 Unmeṣa-nimiṣotpanna-vipanna-bhuvānavalī ऊन्मेष-निमिषोत्पन्न-विपन्न-भुवानवली (281) 🌻*

Unmeṣa means opening eye lids and nimiṣ means closing of eye lids.

The creation and dissolution of the universe happens at the wink of Her eyes. When She opens Her eyes, universe is created and when She closes Her eyes, universe is dissolved (vipanna). She does these crucial acts with great ease. This nāma actually highlights the ease with which the Brahman creates and dissolves this universe.

Saundarya Laharī (verse 55) also speaks on the same tone. “The sages have said that the world gets dissolved and created with the closing and opening of your eyes respectively. I suppose that your eyes have dispensed with winking in order to save from dissolution of this entire world which has had its through the opening of your eyes.”

This nāma conveys the subtle nature of the cosmic creation. Kashmiri texts interpret Unmeṣa as the externalising of icchā śakti, the commencement of world process. Unmeṣa also means the unfoldment of spiritual consciousness, which is attained by focussing on the inner consciousnss.

అంతకాలే చమామేవ స్మరమ్మక్యా కలేబరమ్ |
యః ప్రయాతి సమద్భావం యాతి నాస్త్యత్ర సంశయః || 5

తాత్పర్యము :

అంత్యకాలమందు నన్నే స్మరించుచు శరీరమును విడిచినవాడు నా భావమునే (స్వరూపమును) పొంద గలడు. ఈ విషయమున సందేహము లేదు.

వివరణము :

అంత్యకాల మనగా ప్రజ్ఞకు మరపు కలుగుట. మరపులేని ప్రజ్ఞకు మరణము సంభవించదు. మానవునకు నిద్రా సమయ మంత్యకాలము వంటిదే. మెలకువ ఆరంభకాలము కాగా, నిద్ర అంత్యకాల మగుచున్నది.

ఇట్టి సాధన చేయువానికి దేహము నుండి విడిపడుట సులభమగును. మృత్యువునుండి విడిపడుట వీలగును. అట్టి వానికి దేహ విసర్జన సమయమున మృత్యువు అనుభూతముకాక సులభముగ దేహమునుండి ముక్తుడగును. "మృత్యోర్ముక్షీయ మామృతాత్" అనునది సత్యమగును.

🌻. దేవతలు శివుని దర్శించుట - 4 🌻

విష్ణువు ఇట్లు పలికెను-

పార్వతీ దేవి చేయుచున్న తపస్సు యొక్క పరిస్థితి అంతయూ నాకు తెలియును. నేనిపుడు మీతో గూడి పరమేశ్వరుని వద్దకు వెళ్లుచున్నాను (31). ఓ దేవతలారా! ఆయన లోకకల్యాణము కొరకై ఇప్పుడు పార్వతిని చేబట్టవలయుననియు, ఆమె వద్దకు వెంటనే వెళ్లుడనియు మనము ఆనందముతో ఆయనను ప్రార్థించెదము (32).

పినాక పాణియగు ఆ దేవదేవుడు శివాదేవికి ఇప్పుడే వరమునిచ్చు విధముగా ఆయనను ఒప్పించవలయును. మనమా ప్రయత్నమును ఆచటనే చేయుదము (33). కావున, మహాప్రభుడు, పరమమంగళ స్వరూపుడునగు రుద్రుడు ఉగ్రమగు తపస్సును చేయుచున్న స్థలమునకు ఇప్పుడే మనము వెళ్లెదము (34).

బ్రహ్మ ఇట్లు పలికెను-

విష్ణువు యొక్క ఆ మాటను విని దేవతలు మొదలగు వారందరు, లయకారకుడగు రుద్రుడు హఠాత్తుగా కోపించి దహింప గోరునేమో యని మహా భయమును పొంది, ఇట్లు పలికిరి (35).

దేవతలిట్లు పలికిరి -

మహా భయంకరుడు, క్రోధములో ప్రలయ కాలాగ్నితో సమమగు కాంతి గలవాడు, ముక్కంటి, మహాప్రభుడు అగు రుద్రుని వద్దకు మేము ఎవ్వరమైననూ వెళ్లము (36). పూర్వము ఆయన దుర్జయుడగు మన్మథుని ఎట్లు దహించినాడో, అదే తీరున క్రోధముగలవాడై ఆయన మమ్ములను కూడ దహించివేయును. సందేహము లేదు (37).

బ్రహ్మ ఇట్లు పలికెను-

ఇంద్రుడు మొదలగు వారి ఆ మాటను విని లక్ష్మీపతి ఆ దేవతలనందరినీ ఓదార్చెను. ఓ, మునీ! విష్ణువు అపుడు వారితో నిట్లనెను (38).

విష్ణువు ఇట్లు పలికెను-

ఓ దేవతలారా! మీరందరు నా మాటను ప్రీతితో ఆదరముతో వినుడు. దేవతల భయమును పోగొట్టే ఆ స్వామి మిమ్ములను దహించడు (39)జ కావున మీరు వివేకము గలవారై, శంభుడు శుభుములనిచ్చువాడని యెరింగి నాతో గూడి ఆ మహాప్రభుని శరణు పొందుడు (40). సనాతుడు, పరమ పరుషుడు, అధీశ్వరుడు, శ్రేష్ఠమగు రూపము గలవాడు, తపస్సును చేయుచున్నవాడు, పరమాత్మ సర్వరూపుడు, సర్వోత్కృష్టుడు అగు ఆ శివుని శరణు వేడెదము (41).

576. While many people recognize that that must be so, and that of course the whole must take precedence over any part, they do sometimes feel a little that the parts are being ignored, that while everything is working for the good of the whole, yet individual parts often suffer by the way.

The world is better managed than that; actually, that which is best for the whole is also best for each one of the parts, and not only is justice done to humanity as a whole, but it is so done as to involve no injustice to any of the units of humanity. Let us be sure of that, and realize it with absolute certainty; then we shall have no feeling of doubt or dismay, and whatever happens we shall be able serenely to trust that it is being done for the best.

577. Once having passed through the storm and attained the peace, it is then always possible to learn, even though the disciple waver, hesitate, and turn aside. The Voice of the Silence, remains within him, and though he leave the Path utterly, yet one day it will resound, and rend him asunder and separate his passions from his divine possibilities. Then, with pain and desperate cries from the deserted lower self, he will return.

578. In such a case there would be indeed a terrible struggle. Let. us not submit ourselves to that; it is better, while yet we may, to keep ourselves well in hand and not make ourselves the subjects of such a surgical operation as that of the tearing apart of the higher and lower self.

The struggle with the lower self goes on all the time. If the disciple allows it to fasten its fangs into the higher and to draw him away from his greater possibilities, he must inevitably suffer terribly when the time of separation comes, as it must come, for those who have entered the stream can leave it only by reaching the further shore.

*🕉 Always remain open and experimentative, always ready to walk a path you have never walked before. Who knows? Even if it proves useless, it will be an experience. 🕉*

Edison was working on a certain experiment for almost three years, and he had failed seven hundred times. All his colleagues and his students became completely frustrated. Every morning he would come to the lab happy and bubbling with joy, ready to start again. It was too much: seven hundred times and three years wasted! Everybody was almost certain that nothing was going to come of the experiment.

The whole thing seemed to be useless, just a whim. They all gathered and told Edison, "We have failed seven hundred times. We have not achieved anything. We have to stop." Edison laughed uproariously. He said, "What are you talking about? Failed? We have succeeded in knowing that seven hundred methods won't be of any help.

We are coming closer and closer to the truth every day! If we had not knocked on those seven hundred doors, we would have had no way of knowing. But now we are certain that seven hundred doors are false. This is a great achievement! This is the basic scientific attitude: If you can decide that something is false, you are coming closer to the truth.

Truth is not available in the market so that you can go directly and order it. It is not ready-made, available. You have to experiment. So always remain experimentative. And never become smug. Never think that whatever you are doing is perfect. It is never perfect. It is always possible to improve on it; it is always possible to make it more perfect.

Yoga here means knowledge. So He who is attained by that is Yogi. Or Yoga means Samadhi. He who is ever established in His own Self, that is, the Paramatma. He is therefore Yogi.

🌻 850. Yogīśaḥ:

He who is never shaken from Yoga or knowledge and establishment in His own Self, unlike ordinary Yogis who slip away from Yoga on account of obstacles.

పద్మనాభుని తోబుట్టువు శ్రీమాత అని అర్థము. పద్మనాభుడనగా నాభి నుండి పద్మము నుత్పత్తి చేసినవాడు. సృష్టికర్తకు మూలము. ఈ మూలతత్త్వమును శ్రీమహా విష్ణువు అని, నారాయణు
డని తెలుపుదురు. అతనితోపాటు ఎప్పుడునూ నున్నది. శ్రీమాత. వారిరువురునూ పరులే.

పరమ పదమున ఇరు తత్త్వములు మేళవించి యుండును. సృష్టి ఉద్భవ సమయమున వీరే మొట్టమొదటగ ప్రకృతి, పురుషులగుదురు. వీరినే నారాయణ, నారాయణి అందురు. విష్ణువు - వైష్ణవి అందురు. ధర్మము - ధర్మి అని కూడ అందురు.

ఈ ప్రకృతి పురుషులు ఒకే తత్త్వము నుండి ఏకకాలమున ఉద్భవింతురు. కనుక తోబుట్టువులు. పరతత్త్వమును పరమ శివుడని, నారాయణుడని, పరబ్రహ్మమని, పరదేవత యని సంబోధింతురు. అందుండి దిగివచ్చిన పురుషుడు విష్ణువు, స్త్రీ వైష్ణవి. ఈ వైష్ణవీదేవి పరమశివుని పత్నీ భావము పొందెను.

శ్రీమాత విష్ణువునకు తోబుట్టువు. ఆమె అంశావతారమే సుభద్ర. శివుని అంశగ ఉద్భవించిన అర్జును డామెను పెండ్లాడుట యందు గల రహస్యమిదియే.

🌻 Padmanābha-sahodarī पद्मनाभ-सहोदरी (280) 🌻

She is the younger sister of Lord Viṣṇu. Brahma and Lakṣmī, Viṣṇu and Umā, Śiva and Sarasvatī are twins. They represent creation, sustenance and destruction. Sarasvatī got married to Brahma, Lakṣmī to Viṣṇu and Umā to Śiva. This is a beautiful description of interdependence of creation in mythology.

The Brahman is divided into two aspects. One is the form of righteousness (dharma) and another is the possessor of righteousness. The dharma portion of the Brahman is divided into two, male and female. Viṣṇu, the male form of dharma portion of the Brahman is sustainer of this universe. Śaktī, the female portion of the righteousness became the wife of Śiva. She is called Umā. Śiva, His wife Umā and Viṣṇu combine is referred as the Brahman in this nāma.

The three nāmas 278, 279 and 280 subtly convey the first kūṭa (vāgbhava kūṭa) of Pañcadaśī mantra (क ए ई ल ह्रीं). That is why these nāma-s do not convey any serious meaning as seen in other nāma-s. In fact, these nāma-s convey the secretive mantra form.

305. అందువలన అహంకారము యొక్క పూర్తి గుర్తింపును వెంటనే వదలివేసి, అది కేవలము మాలిన్యము యొక్క స్వభావమని, తన యొక్క తెలివితేటలని, ఆత్మ యొక్క ప్రతిబింబమని గ్రహించి, దాని నుండి మనస్సును మరలించి ఆత్మ వైపుకు త్రిప్పవలెను. నీవు ఆ అహంకారము వలననే సంసార సాగరమనే ఈ ప్రపంచములో చిక్కుకున్నట్లు తెలుసుకొని, అది కేవలము పుట్టుక, క్షీణత, చావులని గ్రహించి అసలైన బ్రహ్మానంద స్థితి యొక్క ఆనందమును దర్శించవలెను.

306. అయితే నీ యొక్క గుర్తింపు అహంకారమైనచో, ఎప్పటికి నీవు శాశ్వతమైన పరమాత్మ యొక్క ఔన్నత్యమును, ఎల్లప్రదేశములందు విస్తరించి ఉన్న పరిపూర్ణ ఆనంద స్థితిని, మరుగులేని ఉన్నత స్థితిని పొందలేవు.

307. అందువలన నీ యొక్క అహంకారమును నాశనం చేసి; అది నీ శత్రువు ఎందువలనంటే అది మనిషి యొక్క గొంతులో గుచ్చుకొన్న ముల్లువలె, నీవు ఆహారమును స్వీకరించలేని స్థితిని కలిగించునది కాన; నీవు దానిని నీ పదునైన వివేచన అనే ఖడ్గముతో నీ శత్రువును వదించినట్లు నాశనము చేసి నీ యొక్క అసలు స్థితిని తెలుసుకొని నేరుగా బ్రహ్మానందమనే ఆత్మ సామ్రాజ్యమును పొందుము.

అతని నుండి కార్యములు జరుగుచున్నప్పుడు చూచి ఆశ్చర్యపడుట, ఆనందపడుట, దైనందిన చర్యగ మారినవి. అతడిట్లు తన పరివారము నంతను ఉత్సాహమున నుంచెను. చిల్లర విషయములందు వారికి గల ఆసక్తిని తన సాన్నిధ్యములోనికి మరల్చెను. అతని వేణుగానముతో భూమిని, పశుపక్ష్యాదులను ప్రచోదనము గావించెను.

ఆ వేణుగాన తరంగములే నెమరు వేసుకొనుచు భూమి, దానిని ఆవరించియున్న పంచభూతములు, గురుపరంపర ఇనుమడించిన ఉత్సాహముతో కర్తవ్యములను నిర్వర్తించుచున్నవి. ఈ మధుర సాన్నిధ్య మార్గముల కన్న మించిన మార్గమేదియు లేదని మధురాధిపతి తన చివరి సందేశముగ జీవుల కందించెను.

🌷. తాత్పర్యం :

అర్జునుడు పలికెను: ఓ శత్రుసంహారా! ఓ మధుసూదనా! పూజార్హులైన భీష్మ ద్రోణుల వంటివారిని నేనెట్లు బాణములతో యుద్ధమునందు ఎదుర్కొనగలను?

🌷. భాష్యము :

పితామహుడైన భీష్ముడు, ఆచార్యుడైన ద్రోణాచార్యుల వంటి గౌరవనీయులగు పెద్ద సదా పూజింప దగినవారు. అటువంటి వారు దాడి చేసినను వారి యెడ ఎదురు దాడి చేయరాదు. పెద్దలతో వాగ్యుద్ధమునకైనను దిగకుండుట సాధారణ కట్టుబాటు.

కొన్నిమార్లు వారు కటువుగా వర్తించినను వారి యెడ కటువుగా వర్తించరాదు. అట్టి యెడ వారిని ఎదుర్కొనుట అర్జునునికి ఎట్లు సాధ్యము కాగలదు? కృష్ణుడు ఆ విధముగా ఎన్నడైనా తాతయైన ఉగ్రసేనుని గాని, గురువైన సాందీపమునిని గాని ఎదుర్కొనెనా? ఈ విధమైన కొన్ని వాదములను అర్జునుడు శ్రీకృష్ణునకు తెలియ జేయుచున్నాడు.

Arjuna said: O killer of enemies, O killer of Madhu, how can I counterattack with arrows in battle men like Bhīṣma and Droṇa, who are worthy of my worship?

🌷 Purport :

Respectable superiors like Bhīṣma the grandfather and Droṇācārya the teacher are always worshipable. Even if they attack, they should not be counterattacked. It is general etiquette that superiors are not to be offered even a verbal ﬁght. Even if they are sometimes harsh in behavior, they should not be harshly treated.

Then, how is it possible for Arjuna to counterattack them? Would Kṛṣṇa ever attack His own grandfather, Ugrasena, or His teacher, Sāndīpani Muni? These were some of the arguments offered by Arjuna to Kṛṣṇa.

🌷. తాత్పర్యం :

ఓ పార్థా! ఏ బుద్ధి ద్వారా మనుజుడు ఏది చేయదగినదో ఏది చేయరానిదో, దేనికి భయపడవలెనో దేనికి భయము నొందరాదో, ఏది బంధకరమో ఏది ముక్తిదాయకమో తెలిసికొనగలుగునో అట్టి బుద్ధి సత్త్వగుణప్రధానమైనది.

🌷. భాష్యము :

శాస్త్రనిర్దేశముల దృష్ట్యా కార్యముల నొనరించుట “ప్రవృత్తి” యనబడును. అదియే చేయదగిన కర్మముల నొనరించుట యగును. నిర్దేశములు కానటువంటి కర్మల నెన్నడును ఒనరింపరాదు. శాస్త్రనిర్దేశములను ఎరుగనివాడు కర్మల యందు మరియు కర్మఫలముల యందు బంధితుడగుచున్నాడు. అట్టి విచక్షణా జ్ఞానమును కలిగించు బుద్ధియే సత్త్వగుణప్రధానమైనదని చెప్పబడును.

Performing actions in terms of the directions of the scriptures is called pravṛtti, or executing actions that deserve to be performed. And actions which are not so directed are not to be performed.

One who does not know the scriptural directions becomes entangled in the actions and reactions of work. Understanding which discriminates by intelligence is situated in the mode of goodness.

For those who are entangled in the ocean saṃsāra (worldly existence) containing the six waves of hunger, thirst etc., caught up by the great griefs of avidyā etc., and the small griefs like pride etc., longing for rest, He bestows viśrāma or liberation. So Viśrāmaḥ.

*🌻 5. The Aim of Philosophy is Direct Experience 🌻*

Philosophy is a general exposition of the ultimate concepts, meanings and values of the things of the universe, by a resort to their final causes which range beyond the reach of the senses. It becomes possible for philosophy to concern itself with metaphysical essences by resting on the strong foundation of the testimony given by sages to deep meditation and realisation.

Hence, the source as well as the aim of philosophy is direct experience, non-mediate, super-sensory and super-logical. All knowledge that we ordinarily obtain in this world is mediate, for it requires the operation of the triune process of the knower, knowledge and the known. By this method of knowing, it is not possible for us to acquire an unshakable knowledge of reality, for mediacy in knowledge does not enjoy the characteristics of permanency.

The transitory nature of mediate knowledge affects the whole world of science, for this latter is sense-bound. We need not point out here that science lays too must trust in the validity of sense perception and thus gets vitiated by the gross limitations to which the senses are obviously subject.

305. అందువలన అహంకారము యొక్క పూర్తి గుర్తింపును వెంటనే వదలివేసి, అది కేవలము మాలిన్యము యొక్క స్వభావమని, తన యొక్క తెలివితేటలని, ఆత్మ యొక్క ప్రతిబింబమని గ్రహించి, దాని నుండి మనస్సును మరలించి ఆత్మ వైపుకు త్రిప్పవలెను. నీవు ఆ అహంకారము వలననే సంసార సాగరమనే ఈ ప్రపంచములో చిక్కుకున్నట్లు తెలుసుకొని, అది కేవలము పుట్టుక, క్షీణత, చావులని గ్రహించి అసలైన బ్రహ్మానంద స్థితి యొక్క ఆనందమును దర్శించవలెను.

306. అయితే నీ యొక్క గుర్తింపు అహంకారమైనచో, ఎప్పటికి నీవు శాశ్వతమైన పరమాత్మ యొక్క ఔన్నత్యమును, ఎల్లప్రదేశములందు విస్తరించి ఉన్న పరిపూర్ణ ఆనంద స్థితిని, మరుగులేని ఉన్నత స్థితిని పొందలేవు.

307. అందువలన నీ యొక్క అహంకారమును నాశనం చేసి; అది నీ శత్రువు ఎందువలనంటే అది మనిషి యొక్క గొంతులో గుచ్చుకొన్న ముల్లువలె, నీవు ఆహారమును స్వీకరించలేని స్థితిని కలిగించునది కాన; నీవు దానిని నీ పదునైన వివేచన అనే ఖడ్గముతో నీ శత్రువును వదించినట్లు నాశనము చేసి నీ యొక్క అసలు స్థితిని తెలుసుకొని నేరుగా బ్రహ్మానందమనే ఆత్మ సామ్రాజ్యమును పొందుము.

306. But for thy identification with that egoism there can never be any transmigration for thee who art immutable and eternally the same, the Knowledge Absolute, omnipresent, the Bliss Absolute, and of untarnished glory.

307. Therefore destroying this egoism, thy enemy - which appears like a thorn sticking in the throat of a man taking meal – with the great sword of realisation, enjoy directly and freely the bliss of thy own empire, the majesty of the Atman.

నూతనత్వము మాధుర్య మార్గమునకు పునాదియని తెలిపితిమి. నూతనత్వము ఆనందము కలిగించును. ఆనందము తుష్టిని, పుష్టిని కలిగించును. శ్రీకృష్ణుడు నిత్యనూతనుడు. అతడెప్పు డెట్లుండునో ఎవరునూ ఊహించలేరు. ఎట్లు ప్రవర్తించునో అసలే తెలియదు. అతనియందంతయు నూతనత్వమే. అతను నిత్యనూతను డగుటచే అతనిని గూర్చిన భావన నిత్యానందకరము. బాలురు, స్త్రీలు, వృద్ధులు, వీరులు, వైరులు, మిత్రులు, భార్యలు, బంధువులు ఎవ్వరునూ అతని చేష్టలను ముందుగ నూహింపలేకపోయిరి.

అతని నుండి కార్యములు జరుగుచున్నప్పుడు చూచి ఆశ్చర్యపడుట, ఆనందపడుట, దైనందిన చర్యగ మారినవి. అతడిట్లు తన పరివారము నంతను ఉత్సాహమున నుంచెను. చిల్లర విషయములందు వారికి గల ఆసక్తిని తన సాన్నిధ్యములోనికి మరల్చెను. అతని వేణుగానముతో భూమిని, పశుపక్ష్యాదులను ప్రచోదనము గావించెను.

ఆ వేణుగాన తరంగములే నెమరు వేసుకొనుచు భూమి, దానిని ఆవరించియున్న పంచభూతములు, గురుపరంపర ఇనుమడించిన ఉత్సాహముతో కర్తవ్యములను నిర్వర్తించుచున్నవి. ఈ మధుర సాన్నిధ్య మార్గముల కన్న మించిన మార్గమేదియు లేదని మధురాధిపతి తన చివరి సందేశముగ జీవుల కందించెను.

పద్మనాభుని తోబుట్టువు శ్రీమాత అని అర్థము. పద్మనాభుడనగా నాభి నుండి పద్మము నుత్పత్తి చేసినవాడు. సృష్టికర్తకు మూలము. ఈ మూలతత్త్వమును శ్రీమహా విష్ణువు అని, నారాయణు

డని తెలుపుదురు. అతనితోపాటు ఎప్పుడునూ నున్నది. శ్రీమాత. వారిరువురునూ పరులే.

పరమ పదమున ఇరు తత్త్వములు మేళవించి యుండును. సృష్టి ఉద్భవ సమయమున వీరే మొట్టమొదటగ ప్రకృతి, పురుషులగుదురు. వీరినే నారాయణ, నారాయణి అందురు. విష్ణువు - వైష్ణవి అందురు. ధర్మము - ధర్మి అని కూడ అందురు.

ఈ ప్రకృతి పురుషులు ఒకే తత్త్వము నుండి ఏకకాలమున ఉద్భవింతురు. కనుక తోబుట్టువులు. పరతత్త్వమును పరమ శివుడని, నారాయణుడని, పరబ్రహ్మమని, పరదేవత యని సంబోధింతురు. అందుండి దిగివచ్చిన పురుషుడు విష్ణువు, స్త్రీ వైష్ణవి. ఈ వైష్ణవీదేవి పరమశివుని పత్నీ భావము పొందెను.

శ్రీమాత విష్ణువునకు తోబుట్టువు. ఆమె అంశావతారమే సుభద్ర. శివుని అంశగ ఉద్భవించిన అర్జును డామెను పెండ్లాడుట యందు గల రహస్యమిదియే.

*🌻 Padmanābha-sahodarī पद्मनाभ-सहोदरी (280) 🌻*

She is the younger sister of Lord Viṣṇu. Brahma and Lakṣmī, Viṣṇu and Umā, Śiva and Sarasvatī are twins. They represent creation, sustenance and destruction. Sarasvatī got married to Brahma, Lakṣmī to Viṣṇu and Umā to Śiva. This is a beautiful description of interdependence of creation in mythology.

The Brahman is divided into two aspects. One is the form of righteousness (dharma) and another is the possessor of righteousness. The dharma portion of the Brahman is divided into two, male and female. Viṣṇu, the male form of dharma portion of the Brahman is sustainer of this universe. Śaktī, the female portion of the righteousness became the wife of Śiva. She is called Umā. Śiva, His wife Umā and Viṣṇu combine is referred as the Brahman in this nāma.

The three nāmas 278, 279 and 280 subtly convey the first kūṭa (vāgbhava kūṭa) of Pañcadaśī mantra (क ए ई ल ह्रीं). That is why these nāma-s do not convey any serious meaning as seen in other nāma-s. In fact, these nāma-s convey the secretive mantra form.
